Obituary for Edward F. Howell. Published in Herald Tribune from Oct. 20 to Oct. 21, 2015. Edward F. Howell, 70, passed away at home surrounded by his family October 14, 2015. He was born in Boston, MA in 1945 and moved to this area when he was 5. Eddie attended Sarasota schools, graduated from SHS in 1962 and FSU in 1967 where he was a left-handed pitcher. He was drafted by the Athletics and played until his career ended with an arm injury. Preceded in death by his parents, Rose and Edward, and brother Richard, Ed is survived by his wife of 48 yrs., Jonny; son, Edward III and wife Annie; daughter, Shannon, and husband Ela Rosier of Tallahassee; 9 grand children and 2 great grandchildren; a sister, Nancy Hall of Sebastian; and many dear friends-especially the Metcalf and Cannon Families, and Barbara Gall Winner.
