Charles Leighton "Chuck" Eason Jr. Obituary Published in Tallahassee Democrat on Dec. 24, 2017 Chuck was born in Thomasville, GA on August 31, 1947 to Geraldine Collins Eason and Charles Leighton Eason, Sr. He is survived by his son, Matt Eason, Colorado Springs, CO., mother Geraldine Barthlow, Tallahassee, sister, Dianne Ashmore of Thomasville, GA, and brother, Linton Eason, Tallahassee. He grew up with a deep love for the outdoors and sports, both of which he proved to be very successful. Chuck graduated from Leon High School in 1964 where he excelled at football and baseball. He graduated from Florida State University in 1969 where he played football for 4 years and earned a degree in business. Chuck owned and operated a transportation company in Orlando, Florida for 12 years then worked in real estate until he retired in 2009. He moved back to his most beloved area, wanting to be close to his grandfather's land in Grady County, GA. He began volunteering, and then working full-time for Birdsong Nature Center, serving as the land manager. This was the most fulfilling job he had had in many years.
