James W Browning, Sr.
January 31, 1936 - November 1, 2014 (age 78)

Rev. James William Browning, Sr. went to be with the Lord on November 1, 2014. He was born January 31, 1936 in Madison, FL to the late Edwin B and Louise Z Browning.

He is survived by Pat, his wife of 54 years; daughter, Beth; son, Jim; granddaughter, Leanne, all of Bradenton; and grandson, Doyle, of Tallahassee. He is also survived by a sister, Dorothy Brown (Arden); a brother, The Honorable Edwin B Browning, Jr. (Faye), all of Madison, FL; and a number of nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law, Marlyn and Gerard Chutz.

James was a graduate of Florida State University and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He pastored Orville Baptist Church (Kentucky), while a seminary student. Florida pastorates include Indian Springs Baptist Church (Miccosukee), First Baptist Church of Archer, Lemon Heights Baptist Church (Palatka), and Tenth Street Baptist Church, now Suncoast Baptist Church (Palmetto). He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, Bradenton, where he had served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher.
