Dennis Bunn Obituary

Dennis Michael "Denny" Bunn, 54, a teacher, died Friday, Aug. 8, 2003. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Stone Bunn. He was a Navy diver, a three-time Hawaii Ironman finisher and taught the only recognized high school triathlon-training course. Denny graduated from Florida State University in 1971 and was a varsity swimmer. He taught at Springwood Elementary and most recently at Maclay School, where he coached varsity swimming and served as sponsor of the Key Club. He attended St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Quincy. Denny was a friend, mentor, role model and father figure, especially to Debi Hanuscin and Audra Mayhan. Other survivors include his mother, Kathryn Bunn of Jacksonville; three sisters, Carole Wilkinson and Virginia Garzaniti, both of Tallahassee, and Mary Watson of Lithia Springs; a brother, John W. Bunn Jr. of Tallahassee; and two friends, Debi Hanuscin and Audra Mayhan.
