William John Dahl Obituary. Published by Osceola Memory Gardens, Kissimmee, Fla. William J. Dahl passed away on December 2, 2022 following a brief illness. Bill was born in Oak Park, Illinois on August 8, 1942 to June and John Dahl. Bill's sister, Susan A. Buchanan passed away on July 24, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Catherine Dilmore Dahl, son Richard Dahl, daughter-in-law Karen Cowden Dahl, grandson Matias Dahl, granddaughters Ellie Dahl and Rory Dahl. In addition, he is survived by brothers-in-law Darrell Dilmore and Archie Buchanan, sisters-in-law Hazel Ackermann, Lynn Dilmore, Margie Dilmore, Dianne Dilmore, Pauline Dilmore and Linda Dilmore. Bill is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Bill graduated from Fort Myers High School in 1960, received his B.S. Degree from Florida State in 1965, received his M.S. Degree from Purdue University in 1967 and received his PhD from Purdue University in 1974. During Bill's career, he worked at Purdue University, McDonnell Douglas, Mitre Corporation, Hughes Aircraft Company, and Lockheed Martin Corporation. Following retirement, he was an Associate Professor at George Mason University for five years. He then retired again and moved to Saint Cloud Florida. Bill loved going to Disney World and he adored his grandchildren. He particularly loved watching Scooby-Doo with Rory; going to Starbucks with Ellie; and listening to Matias play the violin. In addition, he loved to go on Disney cruises with the family.
