This Navy brat, a 1961 Cum Laude graduate of FSU's Physical Education Department, is a national recognized educator, coach, civic leader and author. Her educational experiences range from teaching high school in Miami, to being a professor and coach at Miami Dade Community College. As a coach her teams won state championships in badminton (3), basketball (1), softball (4), and volleyball (12). Eleven times the Miami Dade volleyball teams finished the season ranked in the nation's top 10, placing second 3 times.

Her extensive involvement off campus includes membership on the boards of the Fellowship of Christian Athletics, Special Olympics, Baptist Health Trustees, and the Orange Bowl. She was a Founder and President of the Dade County Sports Society, President of the State Physical Education Association, President of the Florida Community College Activities Association, and active in the National Association for Girl's and Women's Sports.

Honors include being awarded an Endowed Teaching Chair at Miami Dade, selected to the National Junior College Hall of Fame and the Florida Community College Hall of Fame, and receiving and Honor Award from the Florida Physical Education Association. She is the co-author of 10 professional books related to computers, coaching, health and fitness.

This outstanding FSU graduate resides in Miami with her husband, Bill.
