| Noseguard from Bartow...four-year letterman and three-year starter...recruited as a linebacker but gained 38 pounds after the switch to Noseguard...had a tremendous knack for fighting off blocks to make tackles...his presence in the middle of the defense improved the play of the entire line...earned 2nd Team All-South Independent in 1987 and 1st Team in 1988 and 89...earned AP All-American Honorable Mention honors as a sophomore and AP 2nd Team and Sporting News Honorable Mention the next year...had a break out year as a senior making the Walter Camp and Kodak All-American squads also 1st Team All-American from the American Football Coaches Association, 2nd Team from Football News and UPI and 3rd Team from The Sporting News...as a senior, recorded 100 tackles and 5.5 sacks which is unusual for a noseguard...scored a touchdown against Florida on an interception of a tipped pass in 1988...on the top 25 career list for Tackles (22nd-278)...also has 16.5 career sacks and 12 tackles for loss...played one year for the Buffalo Bills. |
