Elected into the FSU Hall of Fame in 1977
Ron Seller was one of the finest receivers in the history of college football and many of his records held up during the pass happy offenses used during the 1990s. Sellers caught 212 passes for 3,598 yard from 1966-69, both numbers which have stood the test of time for at least 35 years. He averaged a remarkable 7.1 catches per game during his FSU career. He was a consensus All-American as a junior in 1967 after leading the nation with 1,228 yards and finishing second in receptions with 70. He also earned All-American honors on a number of teams as a senior in 1968. His number 34 jersey was retired by the athletics department in 1968, only the second in school history to be so honored. Sellers was a first-round draft pick by the Boston Patriots in 1969 and he is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame.
