Phil Boggs was a three-time All-American in diving for the Seminoles from 1969-71. Boggs holds the distinction of introducing the reverse two and one-half somersault off the low board into NCAA
competition. The former Seminoles' greatest moment as an athlete came in the 1976 Olympic Games at Montreal where he won a gold medal for the United States in springboard diving. The award given
nationally to the top collegiate diver at the United States Aquatic Sports Convention is named after the legendary FSU star.
