By Steve Stone

ATHENS, Ga. - A strong offensive performance powered Florida State Volleyball to a season-opening win on Friday night, defeating Western Carolina, 3-0, in the first match of the Classic City Clash held at the Ramsey Center on the University of Georgia campus.

The Seminoles (1-0) hit .471 in the three-set match, with seven players earning at least five kills. Junior middle blocker Kiari Robey led the way with eight kills while adding a team-best five blocks. Fellow position mate Khori Louis had seven kills in eight attacks.

Audrey Koenig, Audrey Rothman, Maddie Snider and Sydney Conley each added six kills, while Skye Ekes chipped in with five.

Freshman setter Kenna Phelan enjoyed a nice debut, as the Arkansas Gatorade Player of the Year contributed with 20 assists and two service aces, while graduate student Jella Draskovic added 14 assists.

Freshman Kyleene Filimaua earned the start at the libero position, recording six digs, five assists and four service aces. The Bothell, Wash., native charged up FSU in the second set when she delivered three of those aces, including consecutive ones to push the Seminoles ahead 7-2 in a frame they never looked back on.

The Catamounts (0-1) hit just .137 in the match, doubling up FSU in attack errors at 14-7. FSU was bolstered by 10 service aces in the match, including three from Robey.

Koenig led the team with 13 digs in the opener, while Phelan had seven.

Noles Knock off Georgia.

By Stephen Stone

ATHENS, Ga. - Despite a strong home crowd by Georgia, they were no match for Florida State Volleyball on Saturday night as the Seminoles swept the Bulldogs, 3-0 (25-20, 25-17, 25-17), at the Ramsey Center in the Classic City Clash.

The Seminoles (2-0) attacked at a .405 clip in what was another hot-hitting performance. Junior outside hitter Audrey Koenig led FSU with 10 kills, and sophomore Audrey Rothman added nine kills in what was a nice road victory.

FSU stepped up with 9.5 team blocks, as freshman Maddie Snider and junior Kiari Robey each had five while Rothman and Khori Louis added three apiece.

Koenig fell one dig shy of a double-double with nine on the evening. Graduate setter Jelli Draskovic anchored FSU behind the service line with four aces in the match.

Florida State Volleyball Falls in Three Sets at UCF.

By Stephen Stone

ORLANDO, Fla. - Despite a strong offensive performance where it hit .387, Florida State Volleyball was unable to come away with a win in the first night of the UCF Invitational, falling to UCF, 3-0 (21-25, 28-30, 23-25), on Thursday night in Orlando, Fla.

Junior middle blocker Khori Louis headlined a solid middle attack, recording 10 kills in 16 swings for a .562 hitting percentage. The Tallahassee native started off hot with five kills in her first five attacks. Louis entered the in-state matchup ranked fourth nationally in hitting percentage, now hitting .561 for the season.

Poole Wins 900th Career Match in Sweep Over North Texas.

By Keaton Laurendine

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Florida State volleyball team swept North Texas (4-5) in dominant fashion (25-19, 25-20, 25-16) on Friday night in Orlando, Fla., as part of the UCF Invitational. The win marked head coach Chris Poole's 900th career victory, making him only the eighth Division I head coach ever to reach that milestone.

The Seminoles (5-3) had a very strong offensive showing, attacking with a .396 hitting percentage, and combining for 46 kills on only eight attack errors. The offensive effort was led by junior outside hitter Audrey Koenig, who registered nine kills, and by junior middle blocker Kiari Robey who finished with eight kills and a hitting percentage of .615. Sydney Conley also added eight kills to go along with Khori Louis and Maddie Snider's kills each.

The offense was paired with great passing, as graduate setter Jelli Draskovic matched her season high of 20 assists, while freshman setter Kenna Phelan contributed 16 assists.

The Seminoles played lockdown defense tonight, only allowing 55 total points scored over three sets. Audrey Koenig, Sydney Conley, Kiari Robey, and Khori Louis each had a solo block, while freshman outside hitter Kyleene Filimaua recorded 15 digs and almost matched her season high.

The match was highlighted by an exciting, back-and-forth second set which was ultimately decided by the Seminoles. The Seminoles attacked at a .444 clip, and 14 kills alone.

Noles Battle, Fall to Florida in Five Set Thriller.

By Alex Fisher

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Despite a dominant first set victory, Florida State Volleyball (5-4) was unable to come away with a win, falling to Florida, 3-2 (25-18, 22-25, 25-23, 17-25, 25-22, 14-16) in five sets on Tuesday night in Tallahassee, Fla.

The Seminoles started strong, opening the first set with four straight points, with the crowd in Tully Gymnasium helping fuel the Noles. An early 8-2 lead for Florida State and a 6-1 run helped the Seminoles take the first set 25-18. Audrey Koenig's five first-set kills led the Noles.

A highly contested second set was brought to within one after a kill by Khori Louis made it 22-21 UF. An error by FSU won the second set for the Gators 25-22.

After a 5-5 start to the third set, the Gators held a 16-15 lead before a pair of errors by the Gators, an ace, and two kills by Louis gave Florida State a 20-17 advantage. A kill by Koenig gave the Seminoles set point before a kill from Louis clinched the third set for the Noles.

Florida took the fourth set with a score of 25-17.

In the match-deciding set, after a back-and-forth start the Seminoles opened with a slim 10-9 lead. After a successful Florida State challenge tied the set at 14, back-to-back kills by Florida's Sofia Victoria sealed the win for the Gators.

Louis led Florida State with 14 kills and a team-high 571 hitting percentage. Koenig also finished with 14 kills.

UF's Kennedy Martin led all hitters with 25 kills in the match while teammate AC Fitzpatrick provided 22 kills, as the Gators hit .276 in the win.

Multiple Seminoles finished the game with double-digit kills. Kiari Robey and Audrey Rothman contributed 10 kills apiece.

Kyleene Filimaua, Rothman and Jelli Draskovic all added double digit digs for the Seminoles.

Volleyball Falls in Four Sets at TCU.

By Stephen Stone

FORT WORTH, Texas - Despite swinging some momentum with a third-set win, Florida State Volleyball was defeated in its first match at the Fight In The Fort on Friday, falling at TCU, 3-1 (22-25, 15-25, 25-22, 20-25), at Schollmaier Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.

Freshman outside/libero Kyleene Filimaua led the Seminoles (5-5) with 12 kills against the Horned Frogs (6-4), while junior middle blocker Kiari Robey had 10 kills in 19 attacks with a .421 hitting percentage. Florida State's nation-leading hitting percentage was held in check on Friday as TCU forced the Seminoles to hit .210 in the match.

Filimaua added 18 digs for a double-double in what was a complete performance. Addi Hultquist got the start at the libero position and recorded 12 digs in the match.

Junior middle blocker Skye Ekes was also efficient with six kills in 11 swings and a .455 hitting percentage. Junior middle blocker Khori Louis had nine kills and senior right-side hitter Sydney Conley added seven.

Freshman setter Kenna Phelan led the Seminoles with 24 assists while graduate student Jelli Draskovic had 23.

TCU's Melanie Parra was difficult to stop with 34 kills on 67 total attacks.

The Horned Frogs hit .322 in the match. FSU limited its service errors with five while TCU had eight.

Despite going down 2-0 through two sets, FSU fought back to take the third. TCU built a 20-17 lead on an attack error by the Seminoles, but FSU trimmed its deficit to 21-20 on a kill by Robey. Trailing 22-20, FSU rattled off five consecutive points on kills by Audrey Koenig and Robey, consecutive errors by TCU and a set-ending kill from the right side for Conley.

FSU stayed competitive in the fourth frame but could not withstand TCU's key stretch that went from a 17-16 lead by the Horned Frogs to a 21-16 advantage on a big 4-0 run.

Volleyball Defeated by Hawaii.

By Keaton Laurendine

FORT WORTH, Texas - Florida State Volleyball fell to Hawaii, 3-0 (30-32, 23-25, 13-25) in its second match at the Fight in the Fort on Saturday afternoon at Schollmaier Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.

"This was a tough weekend," head coach Chris Poole said. "We found out right before we left that (Audrey) Rothman was not able to play due to injury. The team played hard but it's just difficult in this sport to make last-minute adjustments against two good teams.

"We really needed this weekend to be about getting into rhythm and instead we're left with having to make changes that just didn't get the results we hoped."

The Seminoles put up a strong fight, as the first two sets saw many lead changes due to the back-and-forth scoring of both teams. FSU's offensive efforts was spearheaded by junior outside hitter Audrey Koenig, who led the team with 14 kills. Koenig also paired this strong offensive showing with 10 digs to complete a double-double. Her efforts along with those of graduate setter Jelli Draskovic, who finished with 20 assists, among others allowed the Seminoles to keep the match close all the way until the end.

FSU's defensive efforts were led by middle blocker Khori Louis, who finished the match with four total blocks and three digs. Freshman outside hitter Kyleene Filimaua had yet another match with double digit digs, as she finished with 11 to pair with her four blocks and five kills.

The game was highlighted by a thrilling first set that was ultimately decided by Hawaii. Despite dropping the set, the Noles pushed the set to 32 points, then looked to bounce back in the second set. The second set was more of the same, as there were multiple lead changes and many opportunities to capture the set from both sides, but Hawaii ended up besting the Noles to take a 2-0 lead.

Florida State Volleyball Sweeps UNF.

By Jacob Swift

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida State Volleyball (6-6) got back in the win column Tuesday evening after a three-set (25-21, 25-15, 25-19) sweep over the Ospreys of North Florida in Tully Gym.

The Seminoles got off to a slow start trailing the Ospreys 6-2 until a Chris Poole timeout seemed to be just the spark they needed, taking a 12-10 lead shortly thereafter. The Noles went on to outscore the Ospreys 23-15, winning the first set 25-21. Audrey Koenig led the way for the Seminoles recording five kills in the set.

The momentum continued with FSU taking an early second set lead and never looked back, winning 25-15. The set was highlighted with the Noles having 18 total team kills and posting a whopping .467 hitting percentage. FSU played stellar defense holding the Osprey's to only a .074 hitting percentage.

The third set opened up with a 10-4 Seminoles lead before a North Florida timeout. The Ospreys battled back trailing 18-15, before an ace by Addi Hultquist essentially iced the match for the Noles giving them a 22-16 lead. The Noles went on to win the set 25-19 with a match clinching kill by Maddie Snider.

Snider led the match in kills with 10, while teammate Sydney Conley posted seven kills of her own.

The Noles were led in digs by Kyleene Filimaua and Kenna Phelan who had seven and six digs, respectively.

Florida State finished the match totaling 42 team kills, 37 aces, and a .369 hitting percentage to go along with 37 assists, and 28 digs.

Volleyball Wins Five-Set Thriller at Virginia Tech.

By Stephen Stone

BLACKSBURG, Va. - Staving off a late match point, Florida State Volleyball endured a tough opening contest at Virginia Tech and managed to win in five sets (25-20, 20-25, 15-25, 25-23, 19-17) in front of a fired-up Cassell Coliseum on Friday night in Blacksburg, Va.

The Seminoles (7-6, 1-0) have now won 11 consecutive matches against the Hokies (10-2, 0-1), and managed to get the win without the services of outside hitter Audrey Rothman once again due to injury.

Junior middle blocker Kiari Robey stepped up mightily in the victory, totaling 12 blocks for the most by a Seminole since Taryn Knuth had 16 vs. Clemson on Feb. 13, 2021. Junior middle blocker Khori Louis was nearly unstoppable with 15 kills and a .481 hitting percentage.

Florida State registered a season-high 15 blocks against Virginia Tech, also getting five apiece from senior Sydney Conley and freshman Kyleene Filimaua.

Freshman right-side hitter Maddie Snider came through again for FSU, getting 10 kills and three blocks. She had three crucial kills in the decisive fifth set, including a thundering shot when FSU faced match point by the Hokies trailing 17-16.

The fifth set was a wild one, as there were 10 tied scores and five lead changes. The two teams switched sides with Virginia Tech taking an 8-6 lead, but FSU managed to stay alive and tie the set at 8-8 on a kill from Snider and block assists from Conley and Robey.

A service ace by Jelli Draskovic, her fifth of the match, gave the Seminoles a 9-8 lead. Virginia Tech then ran off three consecutive points to regain the lead at 11-9. FSU then won four of the next five rallies to go up 13-12, and had its first match point at 14-13 on a kill from Louis.

Virginia Tech stayed relentless, fighting off three match points from FSU, with the last being at 16-15, before coming back with one of its own that was denied by Snider to make it 17-17. The match came to a close on back-to-back challenges, with FSU winning one that reversed the score from 17-18 and 18-17 after replay showed a Virginia Tech attacker hit the antenna.

The match ended on an attack error by the Hokies down the line, which was then challenged and upheld as it did not touch an FSU blocker.

Freshman Kenna Phelan led FSU with 23 assists while freshman Ella Gaona had a strong performance with 16 digs.

Volleyball Sweeps Wake Forest; Goes 2-0 on ACC Opening Weekend.

By Stephen Stone

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Florida State Volleyball played one of its most complete matches of the season on Sunday, sweeping a talented Wake Forest team, 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-12), at Reynolds Gym in Winston-Salem, N.C.

The Seminoles (8-6, 2-0) earned their seventh sweep of the season as they hit .371 in the match, sparked by emphatic second and third sets where they pulled away early from the Demon Deacons (10-3, 1-1). Junior middle blocker Kiari Robey closed out her outstanding weekend with 10 kills in 14 swings for a .571 hitting percentage and six blocks.

Junior outside hitter Audrey Koenig was equally as efficient, getting 10 kills, hitting .375 and adding six blocks of her own. For the second straight match, FSU produced double-digit block totals as it batted away 10 on Sunday after recording a season-high 15 in Friday's win at Virginia Tech.

The Seminoles had a strong serve-receive performance, getting 13 digs from graduate setter Jelli Draskovic who also had 16 assists for a double-double. Freshman setter Kenna Phelan added 17 assists in the win.

Junior middle blocker Khori Louis added six kills and four blocks, while junior right-side Skye Ekes had five kills of her own. Ekes ended the match with a cross-court kill in the third set.

FSU played one of its best sets of the season in set two, hitting .406 and winning convincingly at 25-18. A kill by Louis midway through the set gave FSU a commanding 16-7 lead, and it used another 5-0 run to go up 21-9 in a stretch that was punctuated by a block from Koenig and Robey. The set ended on a kill from Louis to put FSU up 2-0 in the match.

FSU would finish the sweep with a dominant third set.

Volleyball Moves to 3-0 in ACC Play With Sweep Over UNC.

By Stephen Stone

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida State Volleyball moves to 3-0 in ACC play for the first time since 2019 after defeating North Carolina, 3-0 (25-22, 25-22, 25-15), on Friday night at Tully Gym.

The Seminoles (9-6, 3-0) put together one of their most complete passing performances of the season, totaling 46 digs in three sets, staying solid on serve-receive and holding the Tar Heels (7-5, 1-2) to a .197 hitting percentage. In her return from injury after missing five matches, sophomore Audrey Rothman helped FSU with 10 kills, 10 digs and a .500 hitting percentage.

Junior outside hitter Audrey Koenig recorded 14 kills and 10 digs along with a .414 hitting percentage, pairing with Rothman to form a lethal attack. The Seminoles added eight blocks in three sets, getting four each from junior middle blocker Khori Louis and freshman right-side Maddie Snider.

FSU committed just one service error in the match in one of its cleanest showings of the season. Freshman Kyleene Filimaua earned the start at libero and finished with 12 digs. Setters Jelli Draskovic (14) and Kenna Phelan (21) contributed greatly to FSU's .370 attack percentage.

FSU came back from a 16-11 hole in the first set to win 25-22, with the last point coming on a challenge by Head Coach Chris Poole with UNC having four touches on its offensive side. Both teams exchanged several lead changes and the set was tied at 22-22, but subsequent kills by Rothman, Phelan and Khori Louis gave the Seminoles a 1-0 overall lead.

The Seminoles showed more fight in the second frame, getting down 17-12 before finishing the set on a 13-5 run. Kiari Robey delivered a service ace to tie the set at 20-20, and a kill by Rothman extended the FSU lead to 22-20. After UNC tied it back up at 22-22, FSU finished it off as a service ace by Draskovic gave the Seminoles a set point at 24-22, followed by a UNC attack error.

FSU hit .500 in the third set and ran away with the match, building an 18-9 lead that was too much to overcome for the Tar Heels.

By Stephen Stone

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Despite a determined comeback from Duke, Florida State Volleyball managed to hold on and earn a key five-set victory over the Blue Devils, 3-2 (25-18, 25-20, 23-25, 22-25, 15-8), on Sunday afternoon at Tully Gym.

The win marks FSU's first 4-0 start to ACC play since the 2016 season.

The Seminoles (10-6, 4-0) were guided by the hot hitting of junior outside hitter Audrey Koenig, who fell one kill shy of her third career 20-kill performance. She finished with 19 kills, 10 digs and a .417 hitting percentage, marking her second consecutive double-double and the 10th of her career.

Junior middle blocker Kiari Robey registered 14 kills and a .379 hitting percentage. She had four crucial kills in the fifth set as FSU hit .500 in the final frame. Overall, FSU continued its strong hitting with a .351 hitting percentage, as senior right-side hitter Sydney Conley contributed greatly with nine kills and a .368 mark.

A big 4-0 run in the fifth set gave FSU some breathing room, turning an 8-5 lead into a 12-5 advantage. Conley was a big part of FSU's fifth set, with two kills that gave the Seminoles an 11-5 lead and then a 13-6 lead. The match ended on a service error from the Blue Devils (10-5, 1-3).

FSU once again kept their service miscues to a minimum, with just three in the match. The Seminoles totaled six service aces, none bigger than freshman Kenna Phelan's drop ball that bounced right before the end line in the fifth set to give FSU an 8-4 advantage.

Graduate setter Jelli Draskovic posted a double-double with 20 assists and 10 digs, and freshman libero Kyleene Filimaua added 10 digs in the victory.

Sophomore outside hitter Audrey Rothman played another big role with 13 kills and seven digs.

Duke's Gracie Johnson led all players with 25 kills in the match. Duke got its offense going in the third and fourth sets, hitting .357 and .444, respectively, in an attempt to pull off the reverse sweep after getting down 0-2 overall. FSU was able to cover better and get the Blue Devils out of system more in the fifth set, as Duke hit just .222 in the frame. Duke also committed 12 service errors.

Florida State Volleyball Wins Five-Set Thriller at Miami.

By Keaton Laurendine

CORAL GABLES, Fla. - The Florida State Volleyball team won a five-set thriller (25-27, 25-20, 22-25, 25-20, 15-6) against the Miami Hurricanes in Coral Gables, Fla., on Wednesday evening. The Seminoles (11-6, 5-0) are now 5-0 in ACC play for the first time since 2015.

The Seminoles' strong offense was led by junior outside hitter Audrey Koenig, who recorded a career-high 24 kills on 46 swings - her third career 20-kill match. She also tacked on a career-high tying 19 digs, completing her double-double. Seminoles setters Jelli Draskovic and Kenna Phelan also shined as they each had a double-double of their own, each with 20 assists and 12 digs and 23 assists and 10 digs, respectively.

The Seminoles' defense felt the absence of junior middle blocker Khori Louis, who did not play due to injury. Despite this, Florida State still put up 10 total blocks and 72 total digs.

The match began rather close before the Hurricanes took control and held a 22-16 lead. Kiari Robey then stepped up to the service line and spear-headed a 6-1 scoring run to bring the Noles back and tie the set at 22. The set was ultimately decided by the Hurricanes, 27-25, after fending off a determined FSU team. The first set saw 13 ties and multiple lead changes.

The second set was highlighted by an incredible rally which included multiple one-handed digs and close calls to keep the ball alive, and was ultimately decided by the Seminoles. This set the tone for the rest of the set as the Noles would win 25-20.

Miami then captured the third set and sought to finish the match, but the Seminoles refused to go down as they rallied and forced a fifth set. The final frame was all FSU where they won in dominant fashion, 15-6.

Miami's strong efforts were led by freshman outside hitter Grace Lopez, who finished the match with 23 kills and nine digs.

Seminole Volleyball Wins Third Straight Five-Setter, Defeats NC State at Home.

By Stephen Stone

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Another exhausting yet thrilling five-set match went in the favor of Florida State Volleyball on Sunday afternoon, defeating a talented NC State team, 3-2 (20-25, 25-20, 22-25, 25-20, 15-10), in front of a packed house on Parents' Weekend at Tully Gym.

Junior outside hitter Audrey Koenig continued her torrid stretch of play, recording 20 kills, a .576 hitting percentage and 15 digs in the win. It marked Koenig's fourth career 20-kill match and her third of the season, as well as her fifth consecutive double-double.

The Wolfpack (13-4, 3-3) had no consistent answers for Koenig, who fittingly ended the match in the fifth set on a cross-court kill. She had four kills in nine attempts in the decisive fifth set.

The Seminoles (12-6, 6-0) have won three consecutive five-set matches and are 3-1 this season in five-setters. FSU defeated Miami on the road on Wednesday in five as well as Duke at home last Sunday.

The win gives FSU its first 6-0 start to the ACC season since 2015 and is just the fourth time in program history it has started 6-0 in ACC play.

Junior middle blocker Khori Louis made a triumphant return with 11 kills in 19 swings with a .368 hitting percentage while adding four blocks. Junior middle blocker Kiari Robey added seven kills and six blocks.

Sophomore outside hitter Audrey Rothman delivered 12 kills and 11 digs, her fifth double-double of the season.

Making another start at libero, freshman Kyleene Filimaua had 16 digs while graduate setter Jelli Draskovic had another double-double with 33 assists and 12 digs. Draskovic's 33 assists marked a season high, while freshman Kenna Phelan added 23 assists and eight digs.

NC State attacker Ava Brizard had a strong match with 25 kills and a .415 hitting percentage to lead the Wolfpack.

FSU Volleyball Falls in Tough Five-Setter at No. 11 Georgia Tech.

By Keaton Laurendine

ATLANTA, Ga. - The Florida State volleyball team fell to 6-1 in ACC play, losing to #11 Georgia Tech (15-2, 6-1), 3-2 (25-21, 23-25, 25-18, 18-25, 14-16) in their fourth-straight five-set match on Friday night in O'Keefe Gymnasium.

The Seminoles attacked at a .251 clip, with the offensive effort being led by junior middle blocker Kiari Robey who finished with a .435 hitting percentage and 11 kills. Audrey Koenig also contributed 13 kills, and Audrey Rothman produced 10.

The Seminoles played stellar defense all night, recording 72 total digs and 12 blocks. Freshman outside hitter Kyleene Filimaua led the team with 15 digs, and Robey led in blocks, recording six. Khori Louis and Sydney Conley added on five blocks as well.

The Noles came out hot, claiming the first set 25-21 as they capitalized on the Yellow Jacket's poor serving. The second set came down to the wire as Georgia Tech won it 25-23, but the third set was all FSU. The Seminoles won Set 3 with ease, finishing 25-18 and taking a 2-1 advantage over the Yellow Jackets.

The fourth set, however, would turn the tide for Georgia Tech, as junior outside hitter Bianca Bertolino recorded eight kills in 25-18 victory for the Jackets. The fifth and final set was a chippy one, with Georgia Tech taking it and the match 16-14 after many challenges and lead-changing decisions. FSU had match point serving at 14-13 before Georgia Tech rallied.

Volleyball Sweeps Clemson Behind Hot Offense.

By Stephen Stone

CLEMSON, S.C. - Florida State Volleyball improves to 7-1 in ACC play behind one of its best offensive performances in the conference this season, sweeping Clemson, 3-0 (25-20, 25-14, 25-16), on Sunday afternoon at Jervey Gym in Clemson, S.C.

The Seminoles (13-7, 7-1) recorded a .460 hitting percentage against the Tigers (12-8, 3-5), their second-best hitting performance of the season and their highest in ACC play. The only offensive performance it lags behind is FSU's season-opening 3-0 sweep over Western Carolina where it hit .471.

Florida State Volleyball Moves to 8-1 in the ACC; Sweep B.C. at Home.

By Jacob Swift

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida State Volleyball honored their Seminole Heritage Game against Boston College (14-9, 3-6) on Friday night in Tully Gymnasium. The Seminoles (14-7, 8-1) swept the Eagles 3-0 (25-17, 25-19, 25-18), to move to 8-1 in ACC play.

Audrey Koenig led the way with 16 kills and a .378 hitting percentage, while Khori Louis added seven kills.

The first set featured multiple lead changes until Koenig put down back-to-back kills giving the Noles a three-point 9-6 advantage. Boston College battled back pulling to within one, but another Koenig kill gave the Noles the momentum they needed, finishing on a 7-0 run to take the first set 25-17. Koenig led all hitters with seven kills in the set.

Boston College opened up the second set on a 5-0 scoring run while the Seminoles countered with a 4-0 run of their own, eventually tying the set at 11. The back-and-forth battle continued with the Noles taking their first lead in the set 15-14 after another Koenig kill. FSU took advantage of the home crowd and continued to build on their lead, winning the set 25-19. The Noles were again led by Koenig who had another seven kills in the set.

After a hard fought first two sets, the Seminoles came out strong in the third set taking a 7-3 lead. Junior Khori Louis recorded two kills of her own giving the Noles a 14-10 lead. FSU held off one last Boston College push to close out the set 25-18 to complete the sweep.

The Seminoles finished the match with a .307 hitting percentage while the Eagles posted a .194 clip.

Volleyball Sweeps Syracuse.

By Stephen Stone

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida State Volleyball earned its 10th win in its last 11 matches played as it swept Syracuse, 3-0 (25-12, 26-24, 25-19), in its annual Paint it Pink match on Sunday afternoon at Tully Gym.

The Seminoles (15-7, 9-1) improve to 9-1 in ACC play in what is their best 10-match start to conference play since 2018.

All 15 active student-athletes saw court time on Sunday, as junior right-side hitter Skye Ekes, freshman right-side hitter Maddie Snider and junior middle blocker Kiari Robey each led FSU with five kills apiece. Florida State attacked at a .272 clip and held the Orange (2-18, 0-10) to a .000 hitting percentage as they recorded 26 kills to 26 hitting errors.

Florida State recorded 13 team blocks in the three-set match, as Ekes and junior Khori Louis each led the way with four. Jelli Draskovic led FSU with 15 assists, while Kenna Phelan added 11 and Ashley Reynolds chipped in with two.

FSU managed to hang on in a close second set, as a service ace by the Orange tied up the set at 24-24. The Noles were the beneficiaries of a service error by Syracuse to give them set point at 25-24, and then a difficult set by the Orange forced an attack error that closed out the second set to FSU.

The Seminoles close out the match by hitting .333 in the third set, as senior Sydney Conley made an impact with three kills in the frame.

Volleyball Drops Road Match At No. 4 Louisville.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Florida State's volleyball team lost for only the second time in its last 12 games losing in three sets at No. 4 Louisville on Friday night.

The Seminoles (15-8, 9-2 ACC) lost 25-20, 25-22 and 25-16 in the hard-fought match between top ACC programs.

Audrey Koenig led the Seminoles with a game-high 29 attacks. She also led FSU with 11 kills, while Khori Louis had six.

Kenna Phelan tied Koenig with 10 digs to lead FSU and her 15 assists were the high mark for the Seminoles.

The first set began with both teams fighting for the lead. A big time kill by Sydney Conley kept it close at 6-7. Conley and Robey's block then tied the score at 11-11. Later, a block by Audrey Rothman had the Noles within two but it was not enough to catch Louisville as the set ended 20-25. Koenig had a team leading three kills, while Robey recorded two blocks, and Kenna Phelan had five assists in the first set.

The second set was another close battle. Koenig closed out a long rally with a kill to make the score 3-2. The Seminoles fought hard to keep it close and ended up tying the match at 21-21 on a kill from Conley. The second set ended on a 3-0 run by Louisville to finish the score at 22-25.

The final set looked promising for FSU until Louisville went on a run to take a 7-13 lead. Koenig was the first Seminole to reach 10 kills in the match. Block assists by Skye Ekes and Khori Lous flustered Louisville but it was not enough as they closed out the match sweeping the Seminoles (16-25).

Volleyball Upsets No. 6 Pittsburgh at Home.

By Jacob Swift

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Seminoles 17-8 (11-2) took on their fourth nationally ranked opponent this season against the No. 6 ranked Pittsburgh Panthers 20-4 (11-2) for a Friday night thriller in Tully. After a five-set battle, the Seminoles defeated the Panthers (25-18, 25-21, 23-25, 18-25, 16-14) for their highest ranked win at home in program history.

The first set started off strong for the Seminoles, taking a 14-10 advantage led by the way of Sydney Conley and Khori Louis with a combined four kills. After a couple costly service errors by the Panthers, the Seminoles saw themselves with a three-point 20-17 advantage late in the set and went on a 5-1 run to close it out 25-18. Pittsburgh's Olivia Babcock led the set with four kills, while FSU's Audrey Koenig, and Sydney Cole each had three kills.

Set two started right where set one left off, with the Noles in total control. FSU took a 12-8 lead, led by Koenig with three early kills. The Panthers stood tough, closing the gap late to a 23-21 Seminole lead. The Noles pulled through taking the next two points, winning the set 25-21. Babcock again led all hitters in the set with five, while Koenig racked up four more of her own.

Looking to avoid the sweep, Pittsburgh grabbed their first lead in the third set 9-8, with the help of three straight Rachel Fairbanks assists. After being down 16-12, the Seminoles went on a 4-0 run to tie the set 16-16. The set continued its back-and-forth battle tied up at 23-23 until an FSU service error gave the Panthers a one-point advantage and Pittsburgh ended up taking the set 25-23. Babcock and Vale Vazquez Gomez led the Panthers in kills with four each.

The Seminoles found themselves down 9-3 early on in the fourth set before battling back to cut the deficit to two. The Panthers denied the Seminoles to close the gap any further as Babcock had three straight kills giving Pittsburgh a 17-10 advantage. The Panthers took set four 25-18. Babcock led the way with five kills in the set, giving her 18 total for the match.

In a match full of ties, the fifth set did not differ starting out 4-4. An FSU service error followed by a Vazquez Gomez kill gave the Panthers a 6-4 lead. A Maddie Snider kill gave the Noles life, followed by two Seminole blocks, and a Kenna Phelan ace to give the Noles a 12-11 lead. A Pittsburgh service error gave the Noles a 15-14 lead and a Conley block gave the Noles the match clinching point, taking the final set 16-14.

Pittsburgh's Olivia Babcock led the match with 19 kills, while Audrey Koenig led the Seminoles with 14 kills.

Rachel Fairbanks led the way for the Panthers with a match high of 39 assists. FSU's Andjelij Draskovic led the Noles with 23 assists.

The Noles defense held the Panthers to just a .074 hitting percentage ultimately leading them to the victory.

Volleyball Captures Another Victory at Home Defeating Virginia.

By Kaila Renee Fisher

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida State volleyball team (18-8) defeated Virginia (9-15) on Senior Day at Tully Gymnasium, 3-1 (28-26, 25-14, 12-25, 25-8).

In the first set, Virginia led by four points, but an attack error by UVA put the Noles on the scoreboard. Back-to-back kills by outside hitter Audrey Koenig gave the Seminoles momentum. The score bounced back-and-forth, but FSU managed to prevail 28-26, capturing the first set.

The second set was a battle early on, but the Seminoles were able to take the lead with kills from Khori Louis and Koening (8-6). Florida State's lead continued to grow thanks to two kills from senior right outside hitter Sydney Conley and two blocks from sophomore outside hitter, Audrey Rothman. The Noles closed out the set 25-14.

The Noles found the third set to be a challenge. Virginia quickly took a large lead, which ultimately led to them winning the third set (12-25).

A kill from Koeing broke the 2-2 tie in the fourth set and the Noles began to battle back. FSU earned a lead that later grew to an eight-point advantage (13-5). The Noles triumphed in the fourth set and quickly closed out the match (25-8).

Louis recorded 10 kills, a .429 hitting percentage and added 4 blocks. Conley had 7 kills and 3 blocks. Kiari Robey led the team with 8 blocks. Andjelija Draskovic had a team high 22 assists and added 2 aces. Koeing led the team with 15 kills and 14 digs.

Volleyball Defeats Syracuse on the Road.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Florida State Volleyball team (19-8, 13-2) defeated Syracuse (2-23, 0-15) on Friday night, 3-1 (25-10, 24-26, 25-13, 25-15). It was the fourth win in a row for the Seminoles as they continued their hot streak winning 14 of the last 16 matches.

The Noles continued their dominance over Syracuse and have yet to lose to them, leading the series 15-0.

Florida State quickly took the lead thanks to Kiari Robey's two early kills in the match. The Noles then went on a 5-0 scoring run extending their lead to 12-5. The lead continued to grow as Audrey Koenig picked up her fifth kill making it 17-5. FSU quickly closed out the first set, 25-10.

The Noles faced adversity in the second set. FSU built a 22-16 lead, but Syracuse went on a 6-0 run tying it up at 22-22. The set looked as if it could go either way and it was Syracuse who ended up winning the set 24-26.

The third set appeared to be another close battle but with the help of kills by Kohri Louis, Florida State took a 17-7 lead. FSU kept the pressure on Syracuse as the set would end 25-13.

In the fourth set, FSU jumped out to an early 5-0 lead and would not let up. A block by Sydney Conley and Robey added to the lead and the Noles found themselves up 12-3. Later, Louis would record her 15th kill giving them a 24-14 lead. Florida State would go on to win the fourth set 25-15.

The Seminoles made their defensive presence felt by producing 14 blocks to Syracuse's five and limited them to a .052 hitting percentage.

Florida State was led by Louis's 15 kills and Andjelija Draskovic's 21 assists. Both Kyleene Filimaua and Ella Gaona had 12 digs and for the third match in a row, Robey produce eight or more blocks.

Volleyball Continues Win Streak with Victory over Miami.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida State volleyball team (20-8, 14-2) rattled off three straight sets to defeat in-state rivals Miami (16-9, 9-6) on Sunday afternoon, 3-1 (23-25, 25-21, 25-23, 25-21). This was Florida State's fourth straight win over Miami, their best streak over the Hurricanes since 2015 and a fifth straight conference win that keeps them tied atop the ACC.

The opening set saw the two sides go back-and-forth on scoring runs, Florida State was able to take the lead at 9-7 off Kiara Robey's monster spike over the net, one of three kills for the reigning ACC Defensive Player of the Week in the set. Miami kept finding answers as the Hurricanes built a 21-18 lead and held off a late Seminoles surge to take the first set 23-25.

The Noles responded accordingly with a strong start that was spearheaded by Sydney Conley registering consecutive kills before forcing the Hurricanes to an early timeout at 11-5. Miami chipped into the lead, but FSU kept the Hurricanes at arms distance before Audrey Rothman finished the set with a fiery strike into the corner of the court and tied the match up, 25-21.

The third set opened with Khori Louis and Audrey Koenig stuffing the Miami attack with a block for the opening point. Both teams exchanged runs and were tied at 15 apiece heading down the stretch. The Seminoles gained a critical point off a towering spike by Rothman to increase the lead to 21-19 that ultimately proved the difference as they took the third set, 25-23.

The back-and-forth affair continued with neither team taking a lead of more than three points in the final set. Koenig has a knack for special plays and made another with a spectacular cross-court kill, her sixteenth of the match and highest number since their last encounter with Miami earlier this season. The set was once again tied at the 15-point mark, but the Noles found separation in the closing stages. With match point on the table, a Miami strike was ruled out and the Noles took the fourth and final set, 25-21.

Florida State was led by Koenig's 18 kills and Andjelija Draskovic's 26 assists. Freshman Kenna Phelan recorded 21 assists, her twelfth game with 20 or more assists.

Volleyball Sweeps Chicago State.

By Kaila Renee Fisher

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida State (21-8, 14-2) captured the win Friday evening defeating Chicago State (13-8), 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-16), continuing their six-match win streak.

FSU maintained control over Chicago State with a clean sweep. As a team, the Seminoles finished with a .253 hitting percentage and a .411 kill percentage.

Florida State started with a three-point lead to begin the match. It wasn't easy for the Noles, as the Cougars rallied after service errors by FSU and brought the score within three, (16-13). FSU would hold steady to capture the first set 25-22. Seminole outside hitter Audrey Koenig led the team in the first set with four kills, middle blockers Kiari Robey and Khori Louis contributed three kills each, and freshman Kenna Phelan had five assists.

The second set started off strong with a six point lead thanks to kills by freshman right-side hitter Maddie Snider and Louis. Even though FSU had an advantage in the set, Chicago State fought back to put the score within two (16-14). A kill by Koeing would extend the Noles' lead and eventually go on close out the second set 25-21.

The final set was initially a close battle, but FSU went on to build their lead to 14-7. Florida State would not let up, taking the set 26-16.

Freshman Kyleene Filimaua contributed 11 digs and six assists. Koeing lead the team with 11 kills. Robey had seven kills with five blocks. Andjelija Draskovic and Phelan both finished with 14 assists.

Volleyball Wins in Five Set Thriller.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida State (22-8, 15-2) came out on top after battling in five sets against North Carolina (12-14, 6-11) on Sunday. The Seminoles continue their seven-match win streak and have sole possession of first place in the ACC standings.

North Carolina came prepared to play as they immediately put the pressure on the Seminoles. The first set swayed back and forth. FSU tied it up at 18-18, but the Tar Heels closed out the set on a 4-0 scoring run (19-25). Maddie Snider led the way in the first set with four kills.

In the second set, the Noles would find themselves down quickly (1-7). FSU chipped away and a Snider kill would bring the score within two (9-11). It would not be enough as Florida State had their backs against the wall, dropping the second set 19-25.

Florida State flipped the script in the third set as they jumped out to a 3-0 lead. Audrey Rothman's ace grew the lead to 16-8. The Seminoles kept their foot on the gas and closed out the set 25-14.

The fourth set was once again a close fight. FSU and UNC had six ties throughout the set. The Noles had a 4-0 scoring run towards the end of the set, and would win the fourth set 25-21, forcing a fifth set.

In the fifth set, FSU took control early going up 6-4. The Tar Heels would not give up as they tied the score at 8-8. Like much of the match, the final point ended in dramatic fashion as a block by Audrey Rothman and Khori Louis sealed the win.

Snider had a career high of 15 kills today. Rothman was clutch, finishing the day with 17 digs and 11 kills. Kiari Robey was a defensive specialist recording 10 blocks. Khori Louis had another solid match registering a .467 hitting percentage.

Seminoles Become ACC Co-Champions with Win Against Notre Dame.

By Edward Klinsport

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida State Volleyball team (23-8, 16-2) defeated Notre Dame (11-15, 5-13) to become ACC Co-Champions on Saturday. It is their first ACC title since 2012. FSU was predicted to finish tied for fourth in the ACC Volleyball Preseason Poll. The Noles are the first team since 2017 Louisville to be predicted fourth or lower and win an ACC title. The Seminoles share the title with Pittsburgh and finish the regular season on an eight-match win streak.

Notre Dame came prepared and immediately put the pressure on the Seminoles. The first set was a hard-fought tug-of-war between the two teams. FSU had the edge however, winning the first set 25-21. Sydney Conley led the way in the first set with three kills.

In the second set, the Noles had to play a bit of catch-up as the Irish managed to stay one point ahead during the start. FSU kept fighting hard, earning a lead, and then put their foot on the gas to close out the set 25-19.

In the third and final set, the Seminoles found themselves down quickly (2-8). FSU started their comeback off the heels off a Maddie Snider block. The Noles built off that momentum tying the set 11-11. From there it was once again a close back and forth battle. FSU struck the final blow with a kill from Audrey Rothman to win the final set 25-23.

Khori Louis led the team with 11 kills and six blocks during the match. Audrey Koenig was clutch, finishing the day with 17 digs and three kills. Snider led the defensive effort with five blocks. Kenna Phelan finished with 19 assists.

Volleyball falls to TCU in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The Florida State Volleyball team (23-9) was defeated by TCU (17-14) in the first round of the NCAA Division 1 Women's Volleyball Tournament. The Seminoles put up a tough fight but lost 1-3 (24-26, 25-16, 18-25, 24-26).

The first set was a battle from the start. Things got started early with an ace by Audrey Rothman to make the score 5-4. TCU would not go away as they continued to chip away at any lead the Seminoles made. A kill by Koenig would put FSU up 21-15. Before the Seminoles could close it out, TCU made a last second effort to tie the score (23-23). Koenig made another kill to give the Noles an advantage, but the team was unable to put TCU away. The Horned Frogs would go on to win the set 24-26.

Florida State responded quickly in the second set. FSU jumped out to a 10-5 lead and would not look back. Going on a 7-0 scoring run, Florida State would quickly close out the set 25-16.

The third set was difficult for Florida State. TCU took the lead early and FSU was only able to tie the score once at 4-4. The Horned Frogs secured the lead, fighting off any efforts the Noles made to come back. TCU would win the set 18-25.

As the energy in the match continued to grow, so did the crowd and the fourth set was a great showing of both teams' talents. There were nine ties throughout the set, and it could have gone either way. Just as TCU took a 17-21 lead, the Seminoles kept a never say die mentality. FSU clawed back and tied the score at 22-22. The final points kept everyone on the edge of their seats, but the Horned Frogs would clinch the fourth set with a 24-26 win.

Koenig led the way for FSU with 13 kills, 21 digs, and a .370 hitting percentage. Andjelija Draskovic had 23 assists and Kiari Robey had five blocks.

The Seminoles were not expected to be in this position at the beginning of the season. Being picked to finish fourth in the ACC, they were the first team to be ranked fourth or lower and finish with a share of the ACC title since 2017 Louisville. Overcoming injuries, Florida State defied the odds and became ACC Co-Champions for the first time since 2012. Audrey Koenig had a historic season winning the ACC Co-Player of the Year. Head Coach Chris Poole won his third ACC Coach of the Year, his first since 2011. It was a memorable year for FSU, and you can expect the team to return next season with a healthy and mature roster, ready to compete at the highest level.
