William Eugene Fannin, 66, of Tallahassee died Oct. 2 a his home.

A native of Raceland, Ky., he had lived in Tallahassee 45 years and was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and had been a member of Florida State University's first football team and the FSU Letterman Club.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Roberts Fannin of Tallahassee; a daughter, Carol Ann Stone of Tallahassee; two sons, William E. Fannin Jr. of Orlando and Thomas Jefferson Fannin of Tallahassee; a sister, Nancy Craig of Greenup, Ky,; and three granddaughters.
