Leonard Herbert Gilberg Obituary. Published in the Tallahassee Democrat on Feb 7, 1987, page 13. Leonard H. Gilberg, 59, of Albany, Ga., died Friday at Emory University Hospital. A native of New York City, he has lived in Albany since 1952. While attending Florida State University from 1946-48, he was on the first FSU football team. He was an attorney, a member of Temple B'nai Israel, where he sang in the choir, the Elks Club and the American Legion. He had co-hosted the local Easter Seal telethon. He also was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors include his
wife, Miriam Gilberg of Albany; a daughter, Cheryl Cagle of Atlanta; two
sons, Richard Gilberg of San Francisco and Barry Gilberg of Chattanooga,
Tenn.; his mother, Anna Gilberg of Jacksonville; a brother, Howard Gilberg
of Tallahassee; and four grandchildren. |
