Wayne Hosafros, Rossford school superintendent, dies
ROSSFORD - Wayne O. Hosafros, 45, superintendent of Rossford public schools, died this morning in St. Charles Hospital, Toledo, at 8:55.

The Rossford Rescue Squad was called to his home at 335 Hillside Drive at 7:38 after Mr. Hosafros had experienced difficulty in breathing. He was taken to the hospital by private ambulance.

He was born to Mr. and Mrs. Harvey (Eva) Hosafros in Arlington on June 3, 1926. He attended Arlington High School, Findlay College and Florida State University and received his master's degree and educational specialist rating from Bowling Green State University.

He began his teaching career at Montgomery Local School, before the district consolidated with Elmwood. He was a teacher and coach in 1951, became high school principal in 1953 and executive head in 1955.

In 1959, he was named superintendent of Lake local schools, which position he held until he went to Rossford in February, 1965.

Mr. Hosafros served in the Navy during World War II and was past president of the Wood County Administrators Association, the Ohio Association of School Administrators and the Northwestern Ohio School Administrators and a member of the Rossford Exchange Club, Ohio School Boards Association, the Buckeye Association of School Administrators, the American Association of School Administrators, Phi Delta Kappa (education honor society), and the Rossford United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; one daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Pulak, a controlman in the WAVEs; two sons, Hugh, stationed at Kinchloe Air Force Base, Mich., and Michael, at home; his parents, who reside i Jenera; one brother, Harold, Jenera, and one sister, Mrs. William Marquart, Jenera.
