Daniel Andrew Griffin Obituary. Posted by McLaughlin Twin Cities Funeral Home & Crematory, Niceville, Fla. Danny Griffin, age 51, of Valparaiso, Fla., passed away peacefully on Dec. 14, 2013, after a brief illness and period of care at Twin Cities Hospital. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Willie and Virginia Griffin and Daniel and Thelma Melvin. Danny is survived by his parents, Robert and Joyce Griffin, Sr.; his son, Colten Daniel Griffin; brother, Robert Griffin, Jr. (Terri); sister, Debra Ann Grube (David); and nephews, Nathan Grube (Melanie), Brent Grube, and Taylor Grube, of Hudsonville, Mich. He was
born on Oct. 1, 1962, in Atmore, Ala., and moved with his parents to
Valparaiso soon thereafter. Danny graduated from Niceville High School. He
was drafted by the Seattle Mariners out of high school; however, he
accepted a scholarship to play baseball at Florida State University and
later at the University of South Alabama. All his life, Danny enjoyed the
bayous, beaches, and spending time with family and friends. He was one of
the first airbrush artists in the local area and was also an entrepreneur
of cooking and smoking any kind of food. He loved to hunt and fish like a
true boggy boy. |
