James Harrison Riser Obituary. Published by the Daytona Beach News-Journal on Sep 16, 2005. James "Butch" Riser, E. 21st Street,
Sanford, died Monday, Sept. 12, 2005. Butch was a native and lifelong
resident of Sanford. He graduated from Florida State University, where he
played as a defensive back and on the Special Teams from 1963 to 1967. He
enjoyed fishing and playing golf. He was also a member of the First Baptist
Church of Sanford. He is a Vietnam veteran serving in the U.S. Army. Mr.
Riser was preceded in death by his parents, James A. and Jewell K.
Slaughter-Riser, and a sister, Ethel Lee Walker. Survivors include a
sister, Sharron Ward, Port Orange; and an aunt, Lucille Fesler,
Sanford. |
