Assistant state attorney killed in accident.

Assistant State Attorney Ronald S. Herbein, 33, died Friday of injuries he received in a traffic accident on the dirt road near his home in Pasco County Thursday night.

Herbein was an assistant in the Clearwater office of Pasco-Pinellas State Attorney James T. Russell.

The Florida Highway Patrol said Herbein was thrown clear of his small pickup truck as it rolled over six times on Boyette Road near Zephyrhills.

Herbein was taken to University Community Hospital in Tampa where he was pronounced dead Friday after life support equipment was disconnected.

Herbein was a native of Reading, Pa. He moved to Seminole in 1958 and played football for Seminole High and Florida State University.

He is a graduate of Cumberland Law School in Birmingham, Ala. He is survived by his wife Teri and five-year-old son Joshua.

His brother Gary is a sergeant with the Pinellas county Sheriff's Department and lives in Redington Beach. His parents Ralph and Betty Herbein live in Seminole.
