Shelby Templeton Brewer of Alexandria, VA died on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Mt. Vernon Nursing and Rehab Center at the age of 78, following complications from pneumonia. Shelby was born on February 19, 1937 in Little Rock, AR to the late Donald Brewer Following the completion of two degrees at Columbia University, Shelby served as a commissioned officer in the U.S Navy from 1961-64. He completed a MS and PhD in Nuclear Engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, before joining the Atomic En Shelby is survived by his wife, Marie Anesten Brewer; his children, Jens Brewer and Sara Trewhitt; their spouses Michele Brewer and Philip Trewhitt; and sister Janet Riggs.
