Lt. Colonel Retired William Roscoe Barber, Jr., a resident of Dothan, AL, died Friday October 15, 2010 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He was 80.

Mr. Barber was born June 14, 1930 in Tallahassee, Florida to William Roscoe and Lucile Knight Barber. He spent 21 years in the United States Air Force retiring as a Fight Pilot. Upon retirement, Mr. Barber moved to Ocala, Florida where he retired from the United States Postal Service. He was an avid golfer and an Episcopal Lay reader for 25 years.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy T. Barber, Dothan; daughter, Nancy Lloyd, Dothan; two sons, William G. and Julie Barber, Dothan, Jim and Sue Barber, Aiken, S.C.; five grandchildren, William Michael Barber, Christopher Gilbert Barber, Sara Lynn Barber, Jenny Lloyd, Bubba Lloyd, James Van Horn and Jason Barber.
