November 5, 2025

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Five Florida State soccer players have been named to All-ACC Teams, it was announced by the conference on Wednesday.

Junior forward Jordynn Dudley is named a First Team All-ACC selection, sophomore forward Wrianna Hudson and sophomore midfielder Taylor Suarez 5are on the Second Team and senior defender Heather Gilchrist and junior defender Mimi Van Zanten are honored on the Third Team.

Dudley is the third player in program history to earn three First Team accolades in her career, along with Deyna Castellanos (2017, 2018 and 2019) and Yujie Zhao (2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021). Gilchrist and Van Zanten are named to the Third Team for a second year in a row. Gilchrist (2022), Hudson (2024) and Van Zanten (2023) also have earned All-Freshman Team recognition. Suarez is honored with ACC postseason accolades for the first time in her career.

The Seminoles have earned at least four All-ACC first, second or third team accolades every year since 2018 and in all but two seasons since 2008. FSU now has 119 All-ACC selections in school history, third-most among all programs.

Dudley leads the team with 11 assists, 29 points and 58 shots, while she is second with nine goals, two game-winning goals and 22 shots. In the regular season, she had at least a point in 13 consecutive games, with a goal in seven of those contests and at least two points nine times. Dudley ranks No. 2 nationally and No. 1 in the ACC in assists per game (0.69), No. 6/1 in total assists (11), No. 15/5 in points per game (1.81) and No. 21/5 in total points (29), while she also was in the top eight in the league in shots per game (3.63, 4th) and goals per game (0.56, 8th).

In conference play, the Milton, Georgia, native led the ACC in assists (9) and shots (46), was second in points (23) and tied for fourth in goals (7). A five-point game (two goals, one assist) in a 3-2 win at No. 3 Virginia on October 23 was third-best in a league game in 2025 and earned her ACC Player of the Week honors. Dudley was one of two players with multi-goal ACC games and one of two with five multi-point performances.

Named to the 2025 Hermann Trophy Midseason Watch List, Dudley is a two-time All-American and two-time Hermann Trophy Semifinalist, in 2023 and 2024. Along with All-ACC First Team distinctions in 2023 and 2024, her ACC honors include the 2023 Freshman of the Year and All-Freshman Team and two All-Tournament Team accolades (2023 and 2024).

In the FSU record books in 2025, Dudley tied two of her own marks, at No. 5 with four game-winning assists and at No. 7 with 11 assists overall. In ACC play, her nine assists and 23 points both are No. 1 all-time, while her seven goals tied her own spot at No. 3. Dudley's nine assists matches Jenna Nighswonger's record set in 2022.

Hudson leads the team with 11 goals, three game-winning goals and 29 assists and is second with 23 points and 44 shots. She scored a goal in four consecutive games and in seven of the team's first nine contests. Hudson is No. 4 nationally and No. 1 in the ACC in shot accuracy (.659) and No. 24/6 in goals per game (0.69), and she also is in the top eight in the ACC in shots on goal per game (1.81, 3rd) and total goals (11, 6th).

In 10 ACC games, Hudson is tied for eighth in goals (6). A Rochester, New York, native, Hudson was named to the 2024 ACC All-Freshman Team to go along with her 2025 Second Team accolade. Her six goals in ACC action are tied for No. 8 all-time in school history.

Suarez is third on the team with 12 points, tied for third with four goals and four assists and is fourth with 22 shots. She has three games with three or more points, two of them in the ACC. In league contests, Suarez is tied for eighth with two multi-point games.

The Charlotte, North Carolina, native is a 2024 All-ACC Academic Team honoree. To begin the 2025 season, Suarez was recognized as a Midfielder to Watch by the United Soccer Coaches.

Gilchrist has scored three goals for six points with two game-winning goals, tied for second on the team. Her 1,295 minutes is second-most among all players. She was named to the Hermann Trophy Midseason Watch List and a Defender to Watch in 2025. From Boulder, Colorado, Gilchrist is a 2024 Fourth Team All-American, 2024 All-ACC Third Team recipient and 2022 All-ACC Freshman Team awardee. She also has earned All-ACC Academic Team distinction three times and was named to the 2023 Academic All-District Team.

Van Zanten has four assists, tied for third on the team. She is tied for third in the league in ACC contests with one multi-assist game. A 2025 Defender to Watch, the Buffalo Grove, Illinois, native was named to the 2024 All-ACC Third Team, the 2024 All-Atlantic Third Team and the 2023 ACC All-Tournament and All-Freshman teams.

On the back line, Gilchrist and Van Zanten have helped the Seminoles post nine shutouts. With just 13 goals allowed in 16 games, FSU ranks No. 11 in the NCAA and No. 4 in the ACC in goal differential (+30) and No. 20/3 in shutout percentage (.563). In the ACC, FSU's defense is No. 3 in goals-against average (0.807).

Florida State's All-ACC quintet have helped Florida State, ranked No. 6 in the national polls, to a 10-2-4 record in 2025. The Seminoles were 6-2-2 in the ACC and finished fourth to qualify for the ACC Championship for a 30th consecutive year. FSU will return to action in the NCAA Tournament First Round. The NCAA Selection Show is set for Monday, November 10, where the bracket and FSU's opponent, date and time will be announced.

Trio Selected to Best XI Teams by Top Drawer Soccer.

December 16, 2025

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Three Florida State soccer players have been named to the Best XI Team by Top Drawer Soccer on Tuesday, as junior forward Jordynn Dudley is on the First Team, sophomore midfielder Taylor Suarez is on the Second Team and sophomore forward Wrianna Hudson is on the third team.

Dudley, a finalist for multiple national player of the year awards, is a Top Drawer Soccer Best XI First Team honoree for the second time in her career, along with 2023. Suarez and Hudson are recognized on a Best XI Team for the first time in their careers.

The TDS award comes after Dudley and Suarez were two of three Seminoles bestowed with All-America distinction by United Soccer Coaches on December 5. Hudson earns her first major national postseason recognition of her collegiate career, after she was named the Offensive Most Outstanding Player at the 2025 College Cup.

FSU has had at least one Top Drawer Soccer Best XI Team awardee every year since 2012, with multiple honorees in all but one of those years. The Seminoles have had a representative on the First Team four years in a row.

Dudley also was named a finalist for three national player of the year awards, the Hermann Trophy, the Honda Sport Award for Soccer and Top Drawer Soccer's National Player of the Year. She is an All-American by United Soccer Coaches for the third time in her career, and on the First Team for the second time. Dudley also is an All-Region First Team and First Team All-ACC awardee all three years. She twice earned Player of the Week accolades in 2025, nationally by TDS on December 2 and by the ACC on October 28.

As a junior in 2025, Dudley led the team with 14 assists, 36 points and 88 shots and was second with 11 goals, three game-winning goals and 32 shots on goal in 2025. She registered three braces and five games with at least three points, including a two-goal, one-assist contest in the NCAA Quarterfinal. In the regular season, Dudley had at least a point in 13 consecutive games, with a goal in seven of those contests and at least two points nine times. She had three braces and five games with at least three points.

The Milton, Georgia, native finished the year ranked No. 6 nationally in assists per game (0.64), No. 5 in total assists (14), No. 17 in total points (36) and shots per game (4.00) and No. 20 in points per game (1.64). In conference play, she led the ACC in assists (9) and shots (46), was second in points (23) and tied for fourth in goals (7).

Suarez's Best XI Second Team accolade comes after she also earned her first career All-America award, on United Soccer Coaches' Second Team. On the College Cup All-Tournament Team, Suarez also was recognized on the All-Region First Team and the Second Team All-ACC. She finished second on the team with nine assists, third with 19 points, 33 shots and 15 shots on goal and fourth with five goals. A Charlotte, North Carolina native, Suarez had four games with three or more points, two of them in the ACC and one in the NCAA Tournament. Her nine assists ranked No. 29 nationally and she tied for eighth in the ACC with two multi-point games in league play.

Hudson, the College Cup Offensive Most Outstanding Player and on the All-Tournament Team, was named to United Soccer Coaches' All-Region Fourth Team and a Second Team All-ACC honoree in 2025. She led the team with 15 goals, five game-winning goals, including both in the College Cup, and 39 shots on goal, and was second with 31 points and 58 shots. The Rochester, New York, native ranked No. 4 nationally in shot accuracy (.672), No. 17 in total goals (15), No. 22 in goals per game (0.68) and No. 24 in game-winning goals (5). Pensky and Staff Named National Coaching Staff of the Year.

December 19, 2025

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida State soccer coaching staff has been named the National Coaching Staff of the Year, United Soccer Coaches announced on Friday.

After leading the program to its fifth national championship and second in his four-year tenure, head coach Brian Pensky and his staff earned the third National Coaching Staff of the Year award in team history. Pensky also received the accolade in 2023 after winning an NCAA title, while FSU was first bestowed with the staff honor in 2020.

Concluding his fourth season at the helm, Pensky has guided the Seminoles to two national championships, in 2023 and 2025, and another NCAA College Cup appearance in his first season, 2022. Florida State is 70-7-12 under Pensky, leading the nation with a .854 win percentage in those four years. FSU has won five ACC titles in that span, two regular season and three tournament. In 21 seasons as a head coach, Pensky is 255-118-57 (.660) with 11 NCAA Tournament appearances.

Pensky and the Seminoles posted a 16-2-4 record in 2025, with a 6-0-0 mark in the NCAA Tournament en route to the national title. As a No. 3 seed in the region, Florida State opened NCAA play with a 4-0 home win over Samford followed by a 1-0 neutral-site victory over Lipscomb. The Third Round saw FSU down No. 2 Georgetown 3-1 on the road before the team came home to beat Ohio State 4-1 in the Quarterfinal to clinch a return to the College Cup. In Kansas City, Missouri, the Garnet and Gold topped No. 2 TCU and the No. 1 overall seed Stanford, both by 1-0 margins, to seal the championship. After a 0-2-1 stretch in the middle of the season, the Seminoles closed the year with an 8-0-1 mark, outscoring their opponents 18-3 in the final eight games.

Along with the NCAA's No. 1 winning percentage since Pensky arrived on campus in 2022, Florida State leads the country with two national titles and three College Cup appearances.

The National Coaching Staff of the Year honor is the latest in a long list of accolades for the 2025 Seminoles. Junior forward Jordynn Dudley is one of three All-Americans and is a finalist for the Hermann Trophy, the Honda Sport Award and Top Drawer Soccer's National Player of the Year. Senior defender Heather Gilchrist, also an All-American, was recognized as an Academic All-American and a Scholar All-American. Sophomore midfielder Taylor Suarez joined Dudley and Gilchrist with All-America accolades, while she, Dudley and sophomore forward Wrianna Hudson were recognized on TDS's Best XI Teams. Six players were named Academic All-District, five were selected to the All-Region Team and five collected All-ACC distinction. Hudson and freshman goalkeeper Kate Ockene were College Cup Most Outstanding Players and two of five Noles on the College Cup All-Tournament Team.

The 20th NCAA title overall across Florida State Athletics, soccer's fifth national championship comes just two years after their last in 2023. It is the program's third in the last five years and fifth in its last six appearances in the National Championship Game, joining the title runs of 2014, 2018, 2021 and 2023.

Jordynn Dudley Wins Honda Award.

January 13, 2026

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida State forward Jordynn Dudley has been named the winner of the Honda Sport Award for Soccer for the Class of 2026, the Collegiate Women Sports Awards (CWSA) announced on Tuesday.

Recognizing the best collegiate athlete in the country during the 2025 season, Dudley is the fourth winner of the Honda Award in program history.

"Thank you to the CWSA Committee for selecting me for this prestigious award," Dudley said. "Many incredible players have come before me and won this award, including former FSU players. I am humbled to be alongside this very talented group."

Dudley is now a finalist for the prestigious Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year and Class of 2026 Honda Cup, which will be presented in July. Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2025-26, the CWSA and the Honda Sport Award honors the nation's best female athletes in 12 NCAA sports.

"As their slogan says, the CWSA honors 'the best of the best of college athletics,' and that's certainly what's happening here," FSU head coach Brian Pensky said. "Jordynn has been a joy to coach over the past three seasons, and for every person apart from her opposition, she has been a joy to watch. The combination of Jordynn's relentless defending, her ability to create for others and her ability to create for herself made her a clear choice for this prestigious Honda Award."

Dudley is joined by Natalia Kuikka (2018-19), Jaelin Howell (2021-22) and Onyi Echegini (2023-24) as winners of the Honda Award in FSU history. Since Florida State earned its first award in 2018-19, the Seminoles have had four of the eight winners, with no other program having more than one. FSU's four winners since 2018 matches the next-closest team's combined number of winners and finalists in that timeframe, as two programs have had one winner and three additional finalists. Florida State also has had three finalists along with its four winners since 2018, with a finalist every year except for 2019-20.

The fifth student-athlete across all of FSU's teams to earn the prestigious honor, Dudley, Kuikka, Howell and Echegini are joined by softball's Jessica van der Linden, who was her sport's awardee in 2003-04.p> During a standout 2025 campaign while leading the Seminoles to their fifth national championship, and her second in her three-year tenure, Dudley also was a finalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy and Top Drawer Soccer's National Player of the Year. She is a First Team All-American by United Soccer Coaches and a Best XI First Team honoree by TDS.

Dudley is the first player in program history to earn three career All-America honors with two of them being First Team, as she is the fourth player in FSU history to be named an All-American three times and the first to do it in her first three seasons. Dudley also is the fourth player to be named to the First Team twice.

An All-Region First Team and First Team All-ACC awardee all three years, Dudley twice earned Player of the Week accolades in 2025, nationally by TDS on December 2 and by the ACC on October 28.

Dudley helped FSU win its fifth national title with a 16-2-4 overall record in 2025. The NCAA title is FSU's third in the last five years and second in three, as Dudley is now a two-time NCAA champion.

No. 3 Seminoles Shut Out Gators to Begin Season.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The No. 3 Florida State soccer team opened the 2025 season with a 5-0 shutout win over in-state rival Florida on Thursday night at the Seminole Soccer Complex.

With the five-goal win, the Seminoles (1-0-0) tied their largest win in the series against the Gators (0-1-0), along with a 5-0 road win in 2022. FSU has won eight in a row against UF, with a margin of victory of 24-3 during that stretch, to extend the longest win streak for either team since the team's first met in 1995. Florida State improves to 18-13-0 in the all-time series with clean sheets in four consecutive games and six of the last eight.

The Seminoles also extended their non-conference regular-season win streak to 29 consecutive games, with a 25-0-3 mark since the middle of the 2019 non-conference slate. Additionally, Florida State added to an unbeaten streak at home that is now at 29 games in a row with a 27-0-2 record since the last home defeat in the middle of the 2022 campaign.

Thursday night's game was delayed by one hour before kickoff and another hour near the end of the first half due to lightning in the area.

Senior defender Heather Gilchrist scored the game's first two goals for her first career brace after entering the season with one career score. Her 34th-minute goal proved to be her first game-winning goal. Sophomore forward Wrianna Hudson made it 3-0 with her 10th career goal just before halftime. In the second half, junior midfielder Yuna McCormack tallied her first goal as a Seminole and fourth of her career while redshirt sophomore midfielder Peyton Nourse found the back of the net late for the final score, the fourth of her career and first since 2023.

Senior midfielder/forward Enasia Colon joined McCormack as one of nine players to make their Seminole debuts in the win. Colon recorded a pair of assists in the triumph, her fourth career two-assist contest and the 17th and 18th helpers of her career.

Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Addie Todd had three saves, including a nice stop late, to earn the shutout, her eighth of her career. A pair of UF goalkeepers combined to make four saves.

Florida State had 26 shots to Florida's seven, as the home side posted a 9-3 advantage in shots on goal. UF had a 7-6 edge in corner kicks.

Gilchrist got the scoring going with her first goal at 33:30. On a cross in towards the far post from sophomore midfielder Lara Dantas, Gilchrist headed it in from the corner of the six-yard box. The assist was the fourth of Dantas' career as Gilchrist registered what would be her first game-winning goal.

Moments later, weather forced a one hour delay. Out of the break, Florida State quickly picked up where it left off, as Gilchrist converted her second of the night to make it 2-0 at 39:16. Off the set piece following a foul, Colon took the free kick from just outside the 18 and centered the ball to the top of the goalie box. Gilchrist scored out of the air to double the advantage.

Two-and-a-half minutes later, Hudson made it 3-0, with Colon again earning the assist at 41:45. It was another set piece and another header, as Colon took the free kick from the left side. Going to the top of the six, Hudson headed it in.

With a 3-0 lead at halftime, FSU out-shot UF 7-2 in the opening 45 minutes, though the visitors had three corner kicks to Florida State's two.

At 63:24, McCormack found the back of the net for the first time in the Garnet and Gold. Senior forward Giana Riley and sophomore midfielder/forward Taylor Suarez earned assists, with a centering pass from Suarez to McCormack from eight yards out that resulted in the goal. The assists were the 13th of Riley's career, and third at FSU, and the sixth for Suarez.

Nourse sealed the win to make it 5-0 at 76:04. Her initial shot was saved, but she grabbed her own rebound and immediately fired a strike to the far post and finished into the upper corner.

Todd, who made all three saves in the second half, preserved the shutout with a nice stop in the final minutes as she dove to her right to stop a chance near the post.

FSU had 19 shots, five on goal, in the second half, while UF had five shots, three on target, in the final 45 minutes. Both teams earned four corner kicks.

No. 3 FSU Improves to 2-0 with Second Shutout.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The No. 3 Florida State soccer team beat FIU 2-0 on Sunday night at the Seminole Soccer Complex in Tallahassee, Florida.

Concluding the opening weekend of play with their second shutout in as many games, the Seminoles (2-0-0) benefited from goals by sophomore forward Wrianna Hudson and redshirt sophomore midfielder Peyton Nourse, both their second scores of the young campaign.

FSU held the Panthers (0-1-0), who made their season debut on Sunday night, without a shot. The home side registered 13 shots, five on goal, and had a 5-0 advantage in corner kicks. A total of 22 players saw action for the Garnet and Gold.

Florida State improved to 7-0-0 all-time against FIU. The last three games in the series have been clean sheets.

The Seminoles extended two multi-season streaks to 30 consecutive games on Sunday night, as FSU is 27-0-3 in regular-season non-conference play since early in the 2019 season and 28-0-2 overall at home since the middle of 2022.

Hudson gave Florida State a 1-0 lead in the 32nd minute, her 11th career goal and fourth in the last five games going back to the end of last season. It was Hudson's fourth career game-winning goal and first in 2025. Nourse made it 2-0 in the 68th minute with her fifth career goal. That was assisted by a pair of sophomores, forward Solai Washington and midfielder Peyton McGovern.

Hudson, Nourse and junior forward Jordynn Dudley each had two shots to lead the team, and they were three of five players with a shot on goal. Freshmen goalkeepers Kate Ockene and Evan O'Steen both made their collegiate debuts and played 45 minutes in goal, with Ockene getting the start and O'Steen playing the second half to combine for the shutout.

The Seminoles had several good chances early before Hudson converted at 31:27 to give the Seminoles the 1-0 advantage. From the midfield line, freshman forward Jaida McGrew sent a long ball in towards the top of the 18-yard box. FIU's keeper came out to play the ball but deflected it and could not make a clean catch. As the ball bounced away from the box, Hudson ran in and chipped it in from 23 yards out, beyond the diving leg of an FIU defender.

FSU had six shots, four on goal, in the first half, with four corner kicks.

Florida State began the second half with opportunities in the final third early, and registered two shots, but none on target.

The lead was doubled at 67:15 thanks to Nourse, who tapped it in from inside the six following two great passes. On the far side, McGovern sent a ball up to Washington at the corner of the penalty area. Washington dribbled into the box and, 10 yards out, delivered a perfect centering pass to a wide open Nourse near the far post.

The home side had seven shots, one on frame, in the final 45 minutes, with one corner kick.

Seminoles and Jayhawks Draw in Lawrence.

LAWRENCE, Kans. - The No. 6 Florida State soccer team and RV Kansas played to a 1-1 draw on Thursday night at Rock Chalk Park in Lawrence, Kansas.

On the road for the first time this season, and back in action after a 10 day hiatus, the Seminoles (2-0-1) took a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute. The Jayhawks (3-0-2) tied the game 13 minutes later, the first goal FSU has conceded this season.

Junior forward Jordynn Dudley scored FSU's lone goal, her first of the season and 24th of her career. Dudley led the team with a game-high-tying three shots. Sophomore forward Wrianna Hudson had a game-best two shots on target. In goal, redshirt sophomore Addie Todd made three saves, as did her Jayhawk counterpart.

Florida State had eight shots and Kansas registered 14 shots. Both teams had four shots on goal and five corner kicks.

FSU extended its unbeaten streak in regular-season non-conference action to 30 consecutive games with Thursday night's result, as the Seminoles are 27-0-4 since early in the 2019 season.

The all-time series between the Seminoles and Jayhawks remains tied, at 1-1-1, as the two sides squared off for the first time since 2003.

Dudley scored at 12:46 to give FSU the lead. Near the Big 12 logo, the junior took the ball away from the KU defender and dribbled into the top of the penalty area at the corner. Moving towards the center of the 18-yard box and around another defender, Dudley found just enough space to fire a right-footed shot to the top corner of the goal on the near post. Beyond the hands of the leaping Kansas goalkeeper, Dudley's strike gave FSU a 1-0 lead.

Todd made a nice save in the 23rd minute before KU found the back of the net at 25:37. The tying goal was the first allowed by a Florida State keeper in 2025.

Hudson had a nice chance saved less than a minute later, and Todd followed with a good save of her own in the 29th minute.

The Jayhawks had eight shots, three on goal, in the opening 45 minutes, while the Seminoles notched three shots, two on frame. The hosts had a 4-2 advantage in corners.

A Todd save in the 49th minute began the second half, and KU had several other chances early, but the defense prevented anything else on target.

Hudson had another good opportunity in the 66th minute, but her shot again was saved.

Florida State applied offensive pressure late, with several corner kicks and opportunities in the final third in the final 15-20 minutes, but the visitors could not find the go-ahead goal.

Senior defender Heather Gilchrist had a shot saved in the 88th minute, and Dudley sent one wide right with 90 seconds left for the final shot of the contest.

Kansas had six shots, one on goal, and FSU had five shots, two on target, in the second half. Corner kicks were 3-1 in favor of the Seminoles.

Back on the field after a week off, FSU extended its unbeaten streak in regular-season non-conference play to 32 consecutive matches, with a 29-0-3 record since early in the 2019 season. The Seminoles also added to a home unbeaten streak that is now at 31 straight games, with a 29-0-2 record since the middle of 2022.

Florida State improved to 9-0-0 all-time against Stetson and matched its largest margin of victory in the in-state series, along with a similar 7-0 home triumph in 2014. Eight of the nine contests have been FSU shutouts.

The Seminoles out-shot the Hatters 26-1, including 21-1 in the second half, and the home side had a 13-1 advantage in shots on target. FSU had all six corner kicks in the match.

Ahmad and Anderson were two of three players with three shots, while Ahmad was one of two to record two shots on goal. Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Addie Todd did not face a shot in 75 minutes and freshman Kate Ockene stopped the only shot she faced with a nice save late in the match while playing the final 15-plus minutes. Stetson's keeper made five saves and the visiting defense cleared another ball off the line.

McCormack scored the first goal of the game at 22:29 to give FSU a 1-0 lead. Dudley got the assist, passing to McCormack at the top of the 18-yard box. McCormack scored towards the near post past a diving keeper. It was her second goal of 2025 and fifth of her career, while Dudley got her first assist of the campaign.

Thirty-one seconds later, Hudson made it 2-0 at 23:00. From just past midfield, Jimenez sent a long pass up to Hudson, who dribbled around the goalkeeper outside of the goal box and scored into the open net. Hudson's goal was her third, and the assist was Jimenez's first as a Seminole and first of the day.

FSU took a 2-0 lead into halftime, with a 5-0 advantage in shots and a 2-0 edge in shots on goal in the first 45 minutes.

Dudley opened the second half with her second goal in as many games. At 50:01, the Seminoles took advantage of a turnover and, several passes later, Dudley fired a long strike from 25 yards out into the top-left corner of the goal. The highlight-reel score was Dudley's second goal of the year and 25th of her career, as Jimenez got her second assist.

Florida State made it 4-0 at 66:20 thanks to Anderson's first collegiate goal. From the top of the box, McCormack sent a shot in that was saved initially, but Anderson was there to convert the rebound and score from just outside the goal box. It was McCormack's first assist of the year.

Ahmad and Brandon connected on a pair of goals in just over two minutes to make it 6-0. The first goal came at 78:46, followed by the second at 80:53. Almost identically, both scores started with a centering cross in from Brandon near the sideline, where she found Ahmad inside the penalty area. Ahmad then headed each ball in for her first two career goals, also giving Brandon her first assists. Suarez added an assist on the second goal, her second of 2025.

Suarez capped off the night with her first goal of the season at 84:27 to make it 7-0. Senior forward Giana Riley provided the centering pass to Suarez, who tapped it in among traffic just inside the six. The fourth goal of Suarez's career came as Riley earned her second save of the campaign.

No. 7 Seminoles Shut Out FAU.

BOCA RATON, Fla. - The No. 7 Florida State soccer team led 2-0 after 99 seconds en route to a 5-0 win at FAU on Sunday afternoon in Boca Raton, Florida.

The Seminoles (4-0-1) scored at least five goals for the third time in five games to begin the season and earned their fourth shutout. FSU concludes non-conference play unbeaten for the fifth consecutive season, with a 20-1 scoring margin in the five games.

On a hot and muggy Sunday afternoon at FAU Soccer Stadium, FSU's victory over the Owls (2-5-1) ended in the 79th minute due to lightning in the area.

With its first victory away from home in 2025, Florida State took a 1-0 lead just 44 seconds into the match and made it 2-0 just 55 seconds later. Four players scored a goal and five notched an assist as 22 players appeared in the game, all for at least 26 minutes.

Sophomore forward Wrianna Hudson scored two goals for her second career brace while senior midfielder Enasia Colon scored her first goal as a Seminole, with a first-minute score that was her fourth career game-winner. Senior defender Heather Gilchrist netted her third of the season, after she entered the year with one career goal, and senior forward Kameron Simmonds found the back of the net for the first time in 2025.

Meanwhile, the defense held FAU to just one shot, as the Seminoles posted a 24-1 advantage in shots, 13-1 in shots on goal. FSU had 11 corner kicks and did not allow one for a second game in a row and the third time this season.

Hudson had a game-high five shots and three shots on goal. Redshirt sophomore midfielder Peyton Nourse, who assisted on Simmonds' goal, had three shots. Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Addie Todd made one save in 45 minutes, and freshman goalkeeper Evan O'Steen did not face a shot in nearly 34 minutes of the second half as the pair combined for the shutout. FAU's two keepers made eight saves total, four each.

With the win, Florida State's regular-season non-conference win streak was extended to 33 consecutive matches, as the Seminoles are 29-0-4 since early in the 2019 campaign in those contests. FSU also improves to 4-0-0 all-time against FAU, with back-to-back wins in Boca Raton and shutouts in three of the four games.

Colon gave Florida State the early 1-0 lead just 44 seconds into the game. Junior forward Jordynn Dudley took the ball into the 18-yard box near the end line and sent a centering cross in. The Owl keeper got a foot on the ball and Colon came running in to fire in the rebound from near the penalty spot.

Colon's goal was her first as a Seminole and 19th of her career, as Dudley registered her 22nd career assist and second in 2025.

Fifty-five seconds later, at 1:39, Gilchrist doubled the FSU advantage. The goal came off a corner kick by sophomore midfielder Lara Dantas, and Gilchrist got a foot on the ball among heavy traffic inside the six-yard box.

Gilchrist scored her third of the year today and fourth of her career. Dantas' assist was her second of the season and fifth of her career.

Simmonds extended the Seminole lead to 3-0 at 61:02. Two nice passes from fifth-year midfielder Marianyela Jiménez and Nourse set up Simmonds just inside the penalty area. She beat the FAU goalkeeper to the far post for her first goal of the season.

The goal was Simmonds' sixth in an FSU jersey and 18th of her four-year career. Jiménez picked up her third assist of the season and Nourse's helper was the first of her career.

Hudson scored the last two goals, making it 4-0 at 71:44 and 5-0 at 75:07. From past midfield, junior defender Mimi Van Zanten sent a long pass up to Hudson on the run. Alongside an Owl defender, Hudson beat her to the ball at the edge of the 18 and scored past the goalkeeper, well off her line at the top of the goal box, to the far post.

Hudson's second goal was a penalty after she drew a foul inside the box.

Hudson has two career braces, along with last season vs. Pitt, and she has five goals this year and 14 in her career. Van Zanten earned her first assist of 2025 and the seventh of her career.

No. 7 Noles Open ACC with Another Shutout.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The No. 7 Florida State soccer team shut out Louisville 2-0 on Thursday night in the ACC opener at the Seminole Soccer Complex.

The Seminoles (5-0-1, 1-0-0 ACC) registered their fifth shutout in six games to begin the season, with multi-goal victories in each contest. Meanwhile, the Cardinals (7-2-0, 0-1-0 ACC) were shut out for just the second time in 2025 and saw their four-game shutout streak and six-game win streak come to an end.

Florida State improves to 11-0-0 all-time against Louisville and 9-0-0 as ACC opponents.

Sophomore forward Wrianna Hudson scored the game-winning goal with a penalty kick in the 24th minute for her team-best sixth goal of the season and fourth in the last three games. Senior midfielder Yuna McCormack netted the insurance goal in the 87th minute, her third goal of 2025.

FSU had 13 shots, three on goal, while UofL was held to six shots, one on target. The home side earned nine corner kicks to the visitor's four. Junior midfielder Jordynn Dudley posted a game-high four shots and assisted on McCormack's goal. Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Addie Todd made one save and her Cardinal counterpart also stopped one shot.

Thursday night was the fourth time in six games that the Seminoles allowed one or fewer shots on goal and the third game in a row.

Hudson opened the scoring at 23:57 with a penalty kick goal. Her third goal in the last two halves of competition after a brace in the final 10 minutes of Sunday's win at FAU, the goal came after Hudson drew a foul just inside the penalty box. She converted from the spot on Thursday night, her second PK goal in as many games, to give the Seminoles the early lead. It was Hudson's sixth goal of the season, the 15th of her career and her fifth game-winner, with two coming in 2025 after three in her freshman campaign.

Florida State had several chances prior to Hudson's goal, with one saved. After the score, Louisville had a pair of shots off target followed by a corner kick, but the defense prevented a good look on goal. The Seminoles earned two corners in the 35th minute and posted three shots in the final 10 minutes of the half, but could not add to their lead.

The home side had an 8-4 advantage in shots and a 2-0 edge in shots on goal in the first 45 minutes. Corners were 5-3 in favor of FSU.

Dudley had two opportunities early in the second half, including one less than a minute in that went just wide. Those were two of four shots for the Seminoles before the Cardinals' first shot in the 78th minute that was high.

Todd made a nice save on a ball right to her in the 86th minute, 32 seconds before McCormack doubled the lead.

As McCormack found space between defenders at the top of the 18-yard box, she received a great centering ball from Dudley just outside the box behind her to her right. To the left of the penalty spot and with a defender closing in, McCormack fired a shot just past the left leg of Louisville's keeper, who was off her line at the top of the six, and scored to the far post.

It was McCormack's third goal of the season and sixth of her career. Dudley earned her third assist in 2025 and the 23rd of her career.

The goal proved to be the final chance for either team, as FSU posted a 5-2 edge in shots in the second half. Both teams had a shot on goal and the Seminoles had four corners to the Cardinals' one.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The No. 7 Florida State soccer team extended its season-opening unbeaten streak to seven with a 4-0 victory at Syracuse on Sunday afternoon at SU Soccer Stadium.

The Seminoles (6-0-1, 2-0-0 ACC) registered their sixth shutout in seven games this season, with multi-goal victories in all six wins. For the second consecutive game, FSU halted an unbeaten streak of at least six games by its opponent, as the Orange (4-2-4, 0-1-1) saw their seven-game unbeaten streak come to an end and were shut out for just the third time in 2025.

Sophomore forward Wrianna Hudson scored her team-leading seventh goal of the season and her fifth in the last four games, a score that made it 3-0 in the 61st minute. Fellow sophomore forward Solai Washington netted her first goal of the year with the eventual game-winner in the 43rd minute. Freshman defender Mya Brandon got her first career goal in the 53rd minute. Florida State's fourth goal was an own-goal in the 66th minute. Senior forward/midfielder Enasia Colon and junior forward Jordynn Dudley both picked up a pair of assists.

In goal, a pair of freshmen each played 45 minutes. Evan O'Steen got the start and made one save in the first half, while Kate Ockene played the second half and did not face a shot on target. Hudson had a game-high two shots on goal. Two Seminoles, junior midfielder Yuna McCormack and freshman forward Nyanya Touray, both had a game-best three shots.

The defense held Syracuse to four total shots, two in each half, with just the one shot on goal. FSU registered 21 shots, eight on target. Corner kicks were 4-2 in favor of the visitors.

With the win, the Seminoles remain unbeaten all-time against Syracuse, and are now 8-0-1 against the Orange, including 7-0-1 as ACC foes and 5-0-1 on the road.

A total of 22 FSU players saw action in the Sunday afternoon affair. Everyone played at least 21 minutes, with all but one on the field for at least 35 minutes. No one played more than 63 minutes.

Hudson had a chance in the 15th minute off a nice cross, but her shot from the top of the goal box was saved. Fifth-year midfielder Marianyela Jimenez sent a ball over the crossbar 10 minutes later, and Touray had an opportunity go just wide in the 32nd minute.

O'Steen's first career save came in the 34th minute, on a header from inside the six that she corralled cleanly.

Washington put the Seminoles ahead 1-0 at 42:43. Jimenez and redshirt sophomore midfielder Peyton Nourse were credited with assists, as Jimenez sent the ball up into the 18-yard box to Nourse, who quickly delivered a back-heeled pass to Washington. The quick passes found Washington 14 yards out on the right side, and she fired the ball to the far post on the ground past a diving keeper.

It was Washington's first goal of 2025 and seventh of her career. Nourse got her second assist and Jimenez collected her fourth, both all coming in 2025.

The visitors had an 11-2 advantage in shots and a 4-1 edge in shots on goal in the opening half, though Syracuse earned two corners to Florida State's one.

Brandon quickly made it 2-0 early in the second half at 52:56. On the near side between the touchline and the penalty box, Dudley dribbled around an SU defense and passed to Colon, who quickly sent a perfectly-placed cross towards the far post. Brandon was there at the corner of the six-yard box and headed it in for her first career goal.

Less than eight minutes later, at 60:01, Hudson made it 3-0. Again it was Dudley to Colon to set up the goal, but this time the set-up came from the middle of the field, where Dudley passed to Colon inside the penalty area near the endline. Like the previous goal, it was a great cross to the far post from Colon, and Hudson finished with her left foot near the post.

Hudson's goal was her seventh of the campaign and 16th of her career. Dudley's two assists give her five in 2025 and 25 in her career, while Colon's now has four this season and 20 in her career.

The fourth and final goal for the Seminoles was an own goal at 65:26.

FSU out-shot SU 10-2 in the second half, with a 3-0 advantage in shots on goal. The Seminoles had three corners while not allowing the home side to earn one.

No. 7 FSU Bests No. 18 UNC in Chapel Hill.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The No. 7 Florida State soccer team beat No. 18 North Carolina 1-0 on Wednesday night at Dorrance Field in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

The Seminoles (7-0-1, 3-0-0 ACC) remain unbeaten on the season and extended their winning and shutout streaks to five consecutive games, with clean sheets in seven of eight contests in 2025. The Tar Heels (7-3-0, 1-1-0 ACC) suffered their first home loss in six contests and saw their six-game win streak come to an end as they were held goalless for the third time in 2025.

In the top-25 matchup between the last two national champions, junior forward Jordynn Dudley scored the game-winning goal. The header came in the 59th minute and was her third goal of the season.

FSU had 13 shots, six on goal, and UNC registered 10 shots, three on target, both the second-most by a Florida State opponent. Each team earned seven corner kicks and nine fouls were called against the home side and eight against the visitors. A total of 21 Seminoles appeared in the match, with 16 seeing at least 29 minutes on the field.

Dudley had a game-high five shots and was one of two FSU players with two shots on goal. Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Addie Todd stopped all three shots she faced and her UNC counterpart stopped five shots.

Both the Seminoles and Tar Heels were facing their first ranked opponent of the season. It was the first one-goal game of the year for Florida State and the second for North Carolina. A Carolina-season-high 3,749 fans saw the contest.

In the all-time series, FSU picked up its 15th win against UNC, the most of any program in the country and now more than double the next most by a Carolina opponent. While the Seminoles are 15-31-6 all-time against the Tar Heels, Florida State is 13-7-4 since 2011. The Garnet and Gold are unbeaten in five of the last six meetings and have won three in a row in the rivalry.

Several streaks were extended on Wednesday night, as FSU has won eight consecutive ACC games, tied for the third-longest stretch in program history, and the team is unbeaten in regulation or overtime in 18 consecutive games, fourth-longest all-time. The Seminoles have five clean sheets in a row, and 514:23 consecutive shutout minutes, tied for No. 4 and No. 8 in the school record books, respectively. Four shutouts in ACC play also is tied for third on FSU's list.

Dudley gave Florida State a 1-0 lead at 58:33, the first second-half opening goal of the season scored by Florida State. Sophomore midfielder Taylor Suarez took the ball upfield and passed it wide to senior midfielder Enasia Colon, less than 10 yards from the end line. After two touches, Colon sent a looping cross into the box to find an unmarked Dudley just outside the top of the six-yard box. Dudley headed the ball in to the far post to put the Seminoles ahead.

As Colon and Suarez took advantage of space in the final third, they earned their team-high-tying fifth and third assists of the season, respectively. The goal was Dudley's third of the campaign and 26th of her career. She has eight game-winning goals, this the first in 2025.

Florida State had several chances early in the game, including one shot by Dudley and a header by sophomore forward Wrianna Hudson that both were saved in the opening seven minutes. FSU continued to earn corner kicks early, with a 4-0 advantage in the opening 45 minutes. Sophomore forward Solai Washington received a great pass from Dudley in the 35th minute, but a nice save was made.

The Seminoles had a 7-3 edge in shots and a 3-0 lead in shots on goal in the first half.

Carolina had the first chance of the second half, but the defense forced the chance over the far corner of the goal in the 47th minute. The home side had several more opportunities inside the box in the next eight minutes, but just one shot was allowed that was blocked.

Dudley's goal came in the 59th minute for the 1-0 lead. 15 minutes later, Colon looked to make it 2-0, but her shot on the counter attack following a Carolina corner was saved.

Todd made a pair of nice saves in the final 10 minutes to preserve the shutout, and all three of her saves came in the second half.

UNC had seven shots, three on goal, in the second half, while FSU had six shots, three on target. The Tar Heels had a 7-3 advantage in corners.

90th-Minute Equalizer Gives FSU Tie at NC State.

RALEIGH, N.C. - A goal with 35 seconds remaining in the match helped the No. 7 Florida State soccer team to a 1-1 draw at NC State on Sunday afternoon in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Sophomore forward Wrianna Hudson scored the equalizing goal in the 90th minute to help the Seminoles (7-0-2, 3-0-1 ACC) remain unbeaten on the season and conclude a stretch of three games in eight days, all on the road. The draw came after the Wolfpack (2-6-3, 1-1-1 ACC) took a 1-0 lead in the 81st minute. It was just the second goal FSU had conceded and the first time the team trailed in 2025.

With the late goal, FSU's school-record streak of games with a goal scored reaches 64 consecutive games. Florida State extended its unbeaten streak in regulation or overtime to 19 consecutive games, fourth-best in program history, and its ACC unbeaten stretch to nine games in a row, No. 7 all-time. The team's consecutive shutout minutes reached 594:49 before allowing the goal, a total that ranks No. 4 in the record books and the best since a 683-minute string from 2014-15. The draw saw the Seminoles' ACC win streak snapped at eight consecutive games, tied for No. 3 all-time, and their consecutive shutout streak ended at four games in the ACC and five games overall, tied for No. 3 and No. 4 in program history, respectively.

On a hot and sun-filled day at Dail Soccer Field, Hudson scored her team-leading eighth goal of the season. The forward has scored seven of nine games in 2025, with today's goal coming after her four-game goal streak ended on Wednesday night. Junior forward Jordynn Dudley got the assist, her team-best sixth, as she has a point in seven games in a row.

Dudley had a game-high five shots, while she and Hudson both had a game-best-tying two shots on goal. Hudson was one of two players with three shots. Facing a compacted defensive unit, FSU out-shot NC State 21-5, and the visitors had a 4-2 advantage in shots on goal. Corner kicks were 5-2 in the Seminoles' favor. Nine yellow cards were shown in the game, five to NC State and four to Florida State.

Freshman goalkeeper Evan O'Steen, who played the first 45 minutes, stopped the only shot she faced. Fellow freshman Kate Ockene played the second half. NCSU's keeper made three saves.

Hudson had the game's first shot in the opening minute that was saved, and junior midfielder Yuna McCormack earned a good chance from just outside the 18-yard box that went over the crossbar in the sixth minute. Another shot was forced high six minutes later off a nice cross in by senior midfielder Sophia Nguyen.

Senior midfielder Enasia Colon fed a pass to Dudley in the 24th minute, but Dudley's shot was saved.

O'Steen made a stop of her own four minutes later to keep it a goalless game, and the home side sent a shot wide in the 41st minute.

With two minutes remaining in the half, sophomore forward Solai Washington went just high with a great chance.

Florida State had an 8-2 advantage in shots, and was up 2-1 in shots on goal, in the first half. Two corner kicks came in the opening 45 minutes, both earned by NC State.

The Seminoles kept the offensive pressure up in the second half with two shots within six minutes that went wide, by Dudley and Hudson. Another good chance by Dudley was forced wide in the 62nd minute.

Dudley dribbled around several defenders in the 69th minute, but her shot went just over the crossbar. Six minutes later, she forced NC State's keeper to make a great save on a shot towards the far post.

The Wolfpack took a 1-0 lead at 80:26. The goal came on a penalty kick after a foul was called inside the box.

Senior defender Heather Gilchrist had two shots off target following the goal, and sophomore defender Janet Okeke had a chance blocked with five minutes left.

The Seminoles tied it at 89:25 thanks to Hudson and Dudley. On a long throw-in by Dudley from midfield as time ticked down, Hudson received the ball and dribbled once into the corner of the 18-yard box. On her second touch, she fired a shot towards the far post, past the NC State goalkeeper who was well outside of the goal box.

That tied it at 1-1 and was the final chance for either team.

No. 6 Seminoles Remains Unbeaten with Shutout of Miami.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - A three-goal first half, including two goals in 42 seconds, powered the No. 6 Florida State soccer team to a 3-0 win over Miami on Friday night at the Seminole Soccer Complex.

The Seminoles (8-0-2, 4-0-1 ACC) remained unbeaten on the season with their eighth clean-sheet, multi-goal win in 10 contests. The Hurricanes (6-5-2, 0-4-1) were held to just three shots, all in the second half of a 3-0 game, as FSU scored all three of its goals within the first 29 minutes of the first half.

Returning to the pitch for the first time after 11 days off, and back home for the first time in nearly a month, Florida State improved to 21-4-0 all-time against its in-state rivals. The Seminoles have won six in a row in the series, and nine of the last 10, with a 22-2 scoring margin in the stretch that began in 2013.

Sophomore forward Solai Washington scored the game's opening goal in the 12th minute, her second of 2025, both game-winners. Freshman midfielder Nyanya Touray netted her first collegiate goal to make it 2-0 in the 29th minute, and junior forward Jordynn Dudley made it 3-0 just 42 seconds later with her fourth goal of the campaign. Dudley also had an assist to notch her second three-point game of the year.

FSU out-shot UM 22-3, including a 14-0 advantage in shots on goal. The home side earned four corner kicks and held the visitors without one. Just four fouls were called in the game, three against Miami and one for Florida State.

Dudley registered a game-high six shots and Washington had five, four on frame. Redshirt sophomore Addie Todd did not face a shot on goal. Miami's two goalkeepers, who each played a half, combined for 11 saves, five in the first half and six in the second.

Florida State extended its home unbeaten streak to 33 consecutive games, which continues to rank No. 3 in school history, and the team is now unbeaten in regulation or overtime in 20 games in a row, a stretch that is now tied for No. 3 all-time. As the team's program-record goal streak is now at 65 games, the Seminoles made it 10 consecutive ACC games unbeaten, which is now tied for sixth-longest in the record books.

The Seminoles took a 1-0 lead at 11:31 thanks to Washington. Dudley got the play started by forcing a turnover just outside the 18-yard box. The ball found Washington at the top of the penalty arc, where she dribbled into the box and towards the right side, around several defenders. Just inside the corner of the goal area and one-on-one with the keeper, Washington scored from a tight angle on a right-footed shot into the far corner of the goal.

With the forced turnover and pass to Washington, Dudley picked up her team-leading seventh assist of the year and 27th of her three-year career. Washington's goal was her eighth in her two seasons and third game-winner along with being her second of 2025.

As soon as it became 2-0 it was 3-0, as Touray scored at 28:14 followed by Dudley at 28:56.

Junior midfielder Yuna McCormack centered the ball to Touray, who dribbled quickly to the top of the penalty arc and sent a hard-struck shot towards the goal. The ball deflected off a UM defender's back on its way to going under the crossbar for the 2-0 lead.

Along with Touray's first career goal, McCormack earned her second assist of 2025 and ninth of her career.

Forty-two seconds passed before Dudley made it 3-0. As Miami attempted to clear it with a header, the ball went to Dudley just past the penalty spot, and she played it out of the air and delivered a left-footed shot that bounced once while going into the lower-left corner of the goal.

FSU had a 12-0 advantage in shots in the first half, with eight shots on target. The home side had three corners.

The Seminoles continued to apply offensive pressure in the second half, with a 10-3 edge in shots, but their six shots on target all were stopped, including several nice saves made by the Hurricane goalkeeper. Senior forward Giana Riley had three of those shots that were saved in the final 45 minutes.

No. 5 FSU Suffers First Loss at No. 2 Notre Dame.

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - In a top-five matchup between the top two teams in the ACC standings, the No. 5 Florida State soccer team lost at No. 2 Notre Dame 4-2 on Thursday night at Alumni Stadium in South Bend, Indiana.

The Seminoles (8-1-2, 4-1-1 ACC) suffered their first loss of the season, and first defeat in regulation or overtime in more than a year. The Fighting Irish (11-0-1, 6-0-0 ACC) remained unbeaten on the season and became the first team to score more than one goal on FSU this season.

Sophomore midfielder Taylor Suarez scored two goals, her first career brace and her second and third goals of the season. Junior forward Jordynn Dudley assisted on both goals to give her a team-leading nine. She extended her point streak to nine consecutive games, with multiple points in six of those nine contests.

The loss snapped Florida State's unbeaten streak at 20 consecutive games, tied for third-best in school history. The Seminoles' ACC unbeaten run came to an end at 10 in a row and their road unbeaten streak was halted at seven, both stretches which are tied for No. 6 all-time.

FSU's last loss in regulation or overtime was a 3-2 defeat at Virginia Tech just over one year ago, on October 6, 2024. That came three days after a 4-1 loss at No. 4 Wake Forest, which was the last time the team trailed by more than one goal at any point in the game.

Florida State out-shot Notre Dame 18-15 and had a 10-6 advantage in shots on goal. The visitors earned 10 corner kicks and did not allow one, while fouls were 10-7 for the home side. Each team was shown a yellow card. Notre Dame made eight saves, including one that was cleared off the line by an Irish defender.

Dudley had a game-high-tying four shots and Suarez was one of two Seminoles with three shots, all on target for a game best. Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Addie Todd made two saves and conceded a goal for just the second time in 2025.

Suarez gave Florida State a 1-0 lead just over five minutes into the game, at 5:25. After bringing the ball up, Dudley fed it to Suarez as she entered the penalty area. Moving to her right, Suarez fired a shot on goal from just outside the corner of the goal area as a Notre Dame defender made a sliding attempt at the ball. Suarez's shot sailed to the far post into the upper corner of the goal.

The Seminoles made it 2-0 in the 23rd minute as Suarez completed the brace at 22:44. Dudley sent a pass in to junior midfielder Mimi Van Zanten, who quickly found Suarez just outside the 18-yard box. Suarez dribbled into the box and delivered a strike just under the crossbar and above the leaping Notre Dame goalkeeper.

Notre Dame got a goal back just before halftime, at 43:44, to make it 2-1 going into the break.

In the opening 45 minutes, FSU had 12 shots to ND's six and posted an 8-2 advantage in shots on goal. Florida State had seven corners and did not allow one.

The Fighting Irish tied the game at 2-2 at 62:24 and took 3-2 lead two minutes later, at 64:16.

Florida State had several chances in the final third in the final 25-plus minutes, and nearly tied it in the 67th minute, but the offside flag was raised. The home side then made it 4-2 at 79:41.

ND had a 9-6 edge in shots in the second half and a 3-2 advantage in shots on target. Corners were 3-0 to FSU.

Rally Falls Short in Defeat to No. 2 Stanford.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The No. 7 Florida State soccer team's comeback bid came up one goal short in a 2-1 loss to No. 2 Stanford on Thursday night.

Playing their second No. 2-ranked team in as many games, the Seminoles (8-2-2, 4-2-1 ACC) trailed 2-0 in the first half, but got to within one with an 84th-minute goal by junior forward Jordynn Dudley. However, despite facing extended offensive pressure in the final six minutes, the Cardinal (12-1-1, 6-0-1 ACC) prevented the tying goal to extend their win streak to six.

Thursday was the team's annual Paint it Pink match, where the Seminoles wore special pink uniforms that are being auctioned off, with proceeds going to the Walker Breast Program at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare in support of breast cancer patients.

In a matchup between two of the top three teams in the ACC standings and a rematch of the 2023 national championship game, Thursday was the first-ever meeting between the two teams outside of the NCAA Tournament, and just the third of seven not in the NCAA College Cup semifinal or national title game. FSU falls to 3-4-0 all-time against Stanford in the first ACC contest and first game in Tallahassee in the series.

Dudley's goal gives her five on the season, second-most on the team, and 28 in her career. She extended her point streak to 10 consecutive games, with multiple points in three games in a row and five of the last six. Sophomore forward Solai Washington got the assist, her second in 2025 and fourth of her career.

With the loss, Florida State's home unbeaten streak is snapped at 33 consecutive games. The stretch, which began late in the 2022 season, was third-longest in program history. The team's 84th-minute goal extends their school-record goal streak to 67 consecutive games.

FSU out-shot Stanford 16-9 and the Cardinal had a 6-5 edge in shots on goal. The home side earned five corner kicks and the visitors had three.

Dudley had a game-best six shots, two on goal, and senior defender Heather Gilchrist and sophomore forward Wrianna Hudson both had two shots. In goal, redshirt sophomore Addie Todd made a season-high four saves, one short of tying her career high. Her Cardinal counterpart also stopped four shots.

Stanford took a 1-0 lead at 5:37 and made it 2-0 at 35:31. In between goals, Florida State had seven shots, including three that were saved.

Senior midfielder Kameron Simmonds had a chance stopped in the 14th minute before Gilchrist had a shot go just wide. Dudley nearly tied it in the 24th minute, but her shot was over the crossbar. Back-to-back saves in the 29th and 30th minutes on shots by senior midfielder Enasia Colon and Dudley kept the Seminoles goalless, and Hudson put one high in the 34th.

Trailing at the half for the first time this season, Florida State had an 11-5 edge in shots in the opening 45 minutes, with both teams recording three shots on goal.

The Cardinal had the first four shots of the second half and Todd made three saves in the opening 15 minutes. The Seminoles then had the final five shots of the game, which culminated in Dudley's goal in the 84th minute.

Leading up to the score, Hudson had a chance saved in the 65th minute on a header to set up a corner kick. Gilchrist then had a header go wide on the ensuing chance.

Dudley scored at 83:46 to make it 2-1. After dribbling down the sideline and approaching the edge of the 18-yard box, Washington sent a centering pass in. The pass found Dudley coming in at the top of the six, and she scored off her chest amid traffic.

Florida State continued to apply pressure in the final six minutes but could not net the equalizer.

The Seminoles held a 5-4 advantage in shots in the second half, though the Cardinal had three shots on goal to FSU's two.

Hudson Scores Twice as FSU Draws Cal.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The No. 7 Florida State soccer team played to a 2-2 draw against Cal on Sunday afternoon at the Seminole Soccer Complex.

The Seminoles (8-2-3, 4-2-2) halted a two-game losing streak thanks to a pair of goals from sophomore forward Wrianna Hudson, who registered her third career brace and second of 2025. The Golden Bears (8-2-3, 4-2-2 ACC) extended their unbeaten streak to four in a row with the result to cap their weekend road trip.

Sunday's matchup was the third in a row for FSU against a team in the top three in the ACC standings entering the matchup.

Hudson's two goals give her a team-best 10 on the season to eclipse the nine she scored in her inaugural 2024 campaign. Junior defender Mimi Van Zanten had a career-best two assists, her third and fourth of the year to tie her career high set as a freshman in 2023. Junior forward Jordynn Dudley also notched an assist on Hudson's second goal, her team-leading 10th of the year, to extend her point streak to 11 consecutive games. Hudson and Dudley share the team lead with 20 points.

Florida State out-shot Cal 20-5, with an 8-3 advantage in shots on goal. The home side earned 12 corner kicks to the visitor's two.

Four FSU players had three shots, including Hudson and Dudley, who notched three and two shots on goal, respectively. Freshman goalkeeper Kate Ockene made one save and Cal's goalkeeper stopped six shots.

Both sides traded possessions early, with a shot wide for both teams in the opening nine minutes. Junior midfielder Yuna McCormack had a chance blocked in the 16th minute and nearly found the back of the net less than three minutes later, but that shot went just wide.

Sophomore midfielder Lara Dantas had a chance saved in the 37th minute and the Seminoles soon after earned a corner, but could not get another chance off in the first half.

Goalless at the half for the third time this season, FSU out-shot Cal 4-1 in the opening 45 minutes, with the home side registering the lone shot on goal. The Seminoles earned both corners of the first half.

Florida State opened the second half with strong offensive pressure, as Hudson and Dudley both forced saves in the opening minute.

The Seminoles took a 1-0 lead at 50:13 thanks to Hudson. Van Zanten fed the ball in to Hudson after moving to the top of the 18-yard box. From just outside the goal area, Hudson received the pass, spun and fired a left-footed shot to the right post.

Just five minutes later, at 55:13, Hudson struck again to make it 2-0, with assists from Van Zanten and Dudley. From closer to midfield, Van Zanten delivered a long ball into the penalty area that was headed by Dudley right to Hudson at the top of the six-yard box. Hudson received the ball out of the air and scored to the left post.

FSU continued to control possession, with shots by sophomore forward Solai Washington, McCormack, and senior forward Kameron Simmonds. Washington then had another chance that was saved in the 65th minute.

Cal scored at 73:41 to make it 2-1. Florida State then nearly got the goal back with shots by sophomore midfielder Taylor Suarez, high, and Dudley, saved.

The Golden Bears tied it at 2-2 at 83:17.

The Seminoles looked to regain the lead in the final six-plus minutes, with five shots, but four were blocked and one went just high. FSU earned five corners in the offensive push.

Second-half shots were 16-4 and shots on goal were 7-3, both in favor of Florida State. Corners were 10-2 for the home side.

No. 11 Seminoles Scores Late to Down No. 3 Cavaliers.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The No. 11 Florida State soccer team scored the game-winning goal with just 80 seconds remaining to beat No. 3 Virginia 3-2 on Thursday night at Klockner Stadium in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Junior forward Jordynn Dudley recorded a brace and had the game-winning assist, while sophomore forward Wrianna Hudson netted the game winner. Their efforts helped the Seminoles (9-2-3, 5-2-2 ACC) earn their first top-10 road win since 2023 and their first victory over a top-three team in the regular season, home or away, since a 1-0 win at No. 2 Virginia on October 6, 2022.

In a matchup between two teams tied for fourth place in the ACC standings on a chilly night in Charlottesville, the Cavaliers (10-2-3, 4-2-2 ACC) took a 1-0 lead just after halftime before Dudley tied it 10 minutes later in the 59th minute. Less than five minutes passed for Dudley to get her second to give FSU a 2-1 advantage. UVA tied it at 2-2 in the 79th minute only for Hudson to win it in the 89th.

The two goals give Dudley her sixth career brace, and the five-point game is the second-most in her career. She extended her point streak to 12 consecutive games, with multiple points in six of the last eight contests, and has a team-best 11 assists and 25 points. Hudson scored her team-leading 11th goal and third game-winner and is second with 22 points.

Thursday night marked the third time in four games, all in the last 15 days, that the Seminoles played a team that was and still is ranked No. 3 or higher in the national polls.

With the win, Florida State stretched its unbeaten streak to five in a row against Virginia, and FSU is 13-6-3 vs. UVA since 2011.

The Seminoles out-shot the Cavaliers 15-11 with an 8-5 edge in shots on target. The visitors earned seven corner kicks and the home side had five, while fouls were 11 for Virginia and nine for Florida State. Dudley led all players with six shots and three shots on goal. Freshman goalkeeper Kate Ockene made a career-best two saves and the defense cleared another ball off the line. UVA's keeper stopped five shots.

FSU registered the first shot of the game just 31 seconds in, which was blocked. The defense then prevented a shot as Virginia had its chance in the final third, including off a corner.

The visitors almost made it 1-0 in the 22nd minute, but a header went wide, and a tackle in the penalty area in the 33rd minute prevented a one-on-one shot. Meanwhile, the defense continued to limit the Cavaliers' chances of good looks on net.

In the final minutes of the first half, a header was directed just over the crossbar off a free kick before the defense blocked a shot and cleared one off the line to keep it goalless after 45 minutes.

Florida State had six shots and Virginia had three in the opening half. Both teams registered a shot on goal and each side had three corners.

UVA took a 1-0 lead at 48:16 to open the second half.

Ten minutes later, at 58:15, FSU and Dudley responded. Several passes outside the 18-yard box led up to the goal before senior midfielder Kameron Simmonds fed the ball in to junior midfielder Yuna McCormack, unmarked and on the run. McCormack got the ball at the edge of the six-yard box and quickly centered it to Dudley, who was racing in with a defender at her side. From three yards out, Dudley left no doubt with a hard-struck shot into the back of the net.

Florida State and Dudley wasted little time making it 2-1 at 63:05. From their own end of the field, senior midfielder Sophia Nguyen sent a long pass upfield towards Dudley and Hudson. On a ball that originally bounced off a defender's head, Dudley got to it just inside the penalty area to the left of the penalty spot. On her second touch, Dudley secured the brace with a rocket into the far corner of the goal.

Virginia answered to tie the game at 2-2 at 78:35.

After FSU had several chances blocked off a corner, and Ockene made a nice save, the Seminoles regained a 3-2 lead at 88:40.

It was a long ball in from near the UVA bench that found Dudley at the edge of the penalty arc. The ball then bounced to Hudson at the penalty spot, she dribbled forward once and scored into the right corner of the goal to beat a diving goalkeeper, four yards off her line.

The visitors had nine shots to the home side's eight in the second half, with a 7-4 advantage in shots on goal. Corner kicks were 4-2 for Florida State.

FSU Clinches Home ACC First Round Game with Senior Day Win.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The No. 6 Florida State soccer team defeated RV Wake Forest 4-1 on Thursday night in the regular-season finale to secure a spot in the ACC Championship and a first round home game on Sunday night.

With the victory, the Seminoles (10-2-3, 6-2-2 ACC) earned a spot in the six-team ACC Championship, a feat they have achieved all 31 years of the program's history. Fourth-seeded FSU will host No. 5 seed Virginia on Sunday.

Thursday night's win was Senior Day and the annual Seminole Heritage game. Prior to the contest, the team's six seniors were recognized: Enasia Colon, Heather Gilchrist, Marianyela Jiménez, Sophia Nguyen, Giana Riley and Kameron Simmonds.

Junior forward Jordynn Dudley recorded her seventh career brace in the win over the Demon Deacons (10-4-4, 4-3-3 ACC). Her second two-goal game in a row and seventh of her career, Dudley extended her point streak to 13 consecutive games with multiple points in four of her last five matches. Her first goal on Thursday night, a penalty kick, was her second game-winning goal of 2025. She now has nine goals and a team-best 29 points on the season.

Sophomore midfielder Taylor Suarez opened the scoring by burying a free kick into the top right corner of the goal in the 10th minute. Dudley then scored a penalty kick in the 21st minute after drawing a foul in the 18-yard box to make it 2-0. Dudley secured her second goal of the night on an assist from Suarez in the 54th minute to extend the lead to 3-0. After Wake Forest got a goal back in the 56th minute, junior midfielder Yuna McCormack answered six minutes later thanks to an assist from sophomore forward Wrianna Hudson.

Suarez and McCormack each scored their career-best fourth goals of the season, while Suarez added her fourth assist. Hudson's assist was her first of the season.

Florida State out-shot Wake Forest 19-7, with 16 shots on goal to WF's three. The Seminoles took six corner kicks to the Demon Deacons' two. Dudley led all players with six shots and five shots on goal, and she was one of four Florida State players with multiple shots on goal. Freshman goalkeeper Kate Ockene made a career-high-tying two saves for a second consecutive game and her Wake counterpart stopped 12 shots.

The Demon Deacons got the game's first corner kick in the fifth minute, a chance that was grabbed in the air by Ockene. Florida State then drew a foul just outside the top of the 18-yard box, which led to Suarez's goal. The free kick went around the wall and into the top right corner of the goal for the 1-0 lead at 9:37.

Senior midfielder Kameron Simmonds had a chance less than a minute later that was saved, and two minutes after that, a pass from senior defender Heather Gilchrist connected with Dudley to force another save by the WF keeper.

Dudley's pressure would be rewarded in the 21st minute. Closing in on the goal box, she drew a foul before burying the chance from the spot to extend the lead to 2-0 at 20:46.

Dudley and Suarez both continued to have opportunities in the ensuing minutes, with Dudley's shot blocked and Suarez's saved.

Sophomore forward Solai Washington got the final chance of the half, in the 43rd minute, but it was just saved before bouncing off the post.

The Seminoles outshot the Demon Deacons 7-3 in the opening 45 minutes, with six shots on goal to Wake Forest's one. Florida State took three corner kicks and WF earned one.

The second half saw no halt in momentum for the Florida State offensive attack. Five minutes in, a Dudley shot was just saved before a pair of corner kicks and a shot from Simmonds was saved.

Dudley made it 3-0 at 53:47. A deep pass to the right side from Suarez found the feet of the junior forward, who dribbled around her defender in the penalty box and fired over the hands of the keeper, burying the ball into the top of the goal.

The Demon Deacons got a goal back at 55:09 to make it 3-1.

The Seminoles answered with back-to-back shots by Hudson in the goal box, one that was deflected by the Wake keeper. However, her second was a left-footed shot that slipped past and found a charging McCormack to knock the ball across the goal line. At 61:20, it was 4-1.

Ockene made a nice save in the 68th minute and sophomore midfielder Peyton McGovern had a chance saved in the 74th. Saves also were made on shots from freshman defender Jaida McGrew and Simmonds in the 82nd and 83rd minutes. Freshman forward Ashlyn Anderson had Florida State's final shot saved with two minutes remaining.

FSU out-shot WF 12-4 in the second half with a 10-2 advantage in shots on goal. Corners were 3-1 in favor of the home side.

FSU Draws UVA, Falls in PKs in ACC First Round.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The No. 6-ranked and fourth seeded Florida State soccer team played to a 0-0 draw against No. 7-ranked and fifth-seeded Virginia in the first round of the ACC Championship before UVA advanced in the penalty shootout on Sunday night at the Seminole Soccer Complex.

In a matchup between two teams that tied for fourth place in the ACC standings, and in a rematch of a regular-season contest just 10 days before, the Seminoles (10-2-4) and Cavaliers (12-2-4) did not score a goal in 90 minutes of regulation and two 10-minute overtime periods. Following 110 minutes, UVA advanced 6-5 in the penalty shootout to move on to the ACC Semifinals.

Florida State outshot Virginia 23-13 with an 8-4 advantage in shots on goal. FSU earned 13 corner kicks to UVA's five. Sophomore forward Wrianna Hudson led all players with seven shots and five shots on goal. Freshman goalkeeper Kate Ockene recorded a career-high four saves, while her Virginia counterpart also had a career best with eight saves.

The result, which statistically qualifies as a goalless tie, extends FSU's unbeaten streak against UVA to six in a row.

Making its 31st ACC Championship appearance, Florida State's streak of five consecutive ACC Championship titles will come to an end. The Seminoles are the only team to make the postseason tournament every year in their program's history, and they will remain second all-time with 11 postseason championships.

Sophomore midfielder Taylor Suarez had the first opportunity on goal of the night, and FSU's second shot, firing a tight-angled chance to the far post that was saved in the 13th minute.

Five minutes later, Ockene made a leaping save, punching away what would be the Cavaliers' lone shot on goal of the half over the crossbar.

Shortly after entering the match, Hudson came close in the 28th and 30th minutes. The pair of chances on goal, including a chip shot that was narrowly saved, forced two more stops out of the Cavalier keeper.

Florida State led Virginia 9-5 in shots in the first half, with a 3-1 advantage in shots on goal. FSU also had a 6-1 edge in corner kicks.

Two more strong saves from Ockene came early in the second half, in the 54th and 58th minutes. The first was on a chance from the top of the 18-yard box and the second was made with a diving stop to block a free kick out to the left.

FSU's two shots on goal in the second half came from Hudson in the 70th and 90th minutes, with the latter being a header off of a corner kick with less than 10 seconds remaining.

Less than a minute before Hudson's last-minute attempt, Ockene made another save to keep the game goalless.

Virginia outshot Florida State 7-6 in the second half, with three shots on goal to FSU's two. The Seminoles had four corner kicks to the Cavaliers' two, totaling 10 and three respectively after 90 minutes. Ockene and the UVA keeper added three more saves each, with Ockene totaling four through 90 minutes.

Neither team managed to score the golden goal in either 10-minute overtime session. Hudson made two more attempts across a three-minute stretch in the first overtime, forcing another save in the 91st minute and missing over the top in the 93rd minute. Senior midfielder Kameron Simmonds and sophomore forward Solai Washington both added shots seconds apart in the 98th minute, while senior defender Heather Gilchrist's header on goal was punched away by the Cavalier keeper in the 99th minute.

Florida State totaled five shots in the first overtime to Virginia's one. Each team took two corner kicks.

Halfway through the second overtime saw three more close attempts from Florida State. Junior defender Mimi Van Zanten and junior midfielder Yuna McCormack both fired shots in the 18-yard box that were blocked in the 105th minute. McCormack followed up a minute later with a shot on goal that ricocheted through UVA defenders and bounced to the UVA keeper. FSU took one more corner kick, but the second overtime period ended in a similar scoreless fashion.

In the penalty shootout, Dudley, Hudson, Suarez, Gilchrist and freshman forward Nyanya Touray each converted their penalty kicks, but the Cavaliers responded in turn and it was level at 5-5 after five rounds. In the sixth, the Cavaliers' keeper made a save before the visitors scored to clinch the shootout.

FSU Shuts out Samford to Advance to NCAA Second Round.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The No. 3-seeded Florida State soccer team defeated Samford 4-0 on Friday evening in the NCAA Tournament First Round at the Seminole Soccer Complex.

Making its 26th NCAA Tournament appearance, all consecutively since 2000, FSU advances to the Second Round for the 25th time overall and the 21st year in a row. The Seminoles improve to 84-19-6 all-time in NCAA play and 25-0-1 in the First Round. FSU's Second Round matchup is set for November 20, with an opponent and complete details to be confirmed later this weekend.

The win is the 250th of head coach Brian Pensky's career. He boasts a 250-118-57 career record in 21 seasons and a 65-7-12 mark in four seasons at Florida State. He has advanced to the NCAA Second Round 10 times in his career, including five years in a row and all four at FSU.

With their 10th shutout of the season, the Seminoles (11-2-4), bested the Bulldogs (13-3-5) for the second year in a row to begin NCAA play. The victory snapped Samford's 14-game unbeaten streak and improves FSU's all-time record against SU to 6-0-0, including 4-0-0 in NCAA play.

Sophomore midfielder Taylor Suarez led the way offensively with a goal and two assists, including the game-winner. She led all players with four shots and three shots on goal. Suarez's four points, two assists and four shots all tie career highs.

Junior midfielder Yuna McCormack netted the game-winning goal in the 11th minute to give FSU the early lead, as Suarez got her first assist. Suarez made it 2-0 quickly out of halftime, in the 49th minute off a rebound from junior forward Jordynn Dudley, while sophomore forward Wrianna Hudson followed it up in the 61st minute for her team-leading 12th goal of the season to make it 3-0. Suarez and freshman forward Nyanya Touray assisted on the goal. Sophomore midfielder Lara Dantas added the fourth and final score in the 79th minute for a 4-0 lead on her first goal of the season, with the assist to fifth-year midfielder Marianyela Jimenez.

Florida State out-shot Samford 22-4 with an 11-1 advantage in shots on goal. The home side earned five corner kicks and did not allow one.

Freshman goalkeeper Kate Ockene stopped the only shot she faced on frame to earn her second complete-game shutout of the season, both in the last two games. Samford's keeper made seven saves.

Florida State got on the board at 10:01 with a score from McCormack. Suarez drove through the Samford penalty box and tapped the ball into the goal box, which missed the gloves of the Bulldog keeper and found the cleat of McCormack. The goal is her fifth of the season, and second game-winner, while the assist is Suarez's fifth. The score marks McCormack's eighth career goal and second in NCAA Tournament play.

Hudson and Washington continued the pressure in the following minutes, forcing diving saves out of the Samford keeper. The Bulldogs' first shot came in the 23rd minute, but it was blocked by senior defender Sophia Nguyen. Ockene made her first and only save in the 28th minute.

Florida State outshot Samford 10-3 with a 4-1 edge on shots on goal in the first 45 minutes. FSU led SU 2-0 in corner kicks, and Ockene had one save to Samford's three. Hudson, McCormack and Suarez each registered two shots in the first half.

Suarez would net the second goal early in the second half, at 48:26. A shot by Dudley on the edge of the goal box was blocked by the Samford goalkeeper, but the rebound bounced into a perfectly-centered position for a charging Suarez, who gave the keeper no time to react.

The goal is Suarez's fifth of the year and eighth of her career and also serves as her first NCAA goal. Dudley recorded her 12th assist, setting a new career-high for a single season. The point puts her at 30 on the season, leading the team and besting her 2024 total of 29.

An excellent string of passes led to another Seminole score at 60:20. Touray directed a pass through multiple Samford defenders to Suarez in the penalty box, who quickly crossed it to Hudson in the goal box. Hudson's right-footed tap directed the ball into the center of the goal for her 12th score of the season.

The goal is Hudson's second of her career in the NCAA Tournament and her 23rd overall in her two collegiate seasons.

Dantas scored her first of the year at 78:13 on an assist from Jimenez. Jimenez made a quick right-footed stop near the Samford endline and crossed the ball over to the right side. Dantas played it off the bounce and buried a shot into the bottom left corner of the net, her sixth career goal. The play also was Jimenez's fifth assist of the season.

In the second half, Florida State outpaced Samford 12-1 in shots and 7-0 in shots on goal. FSU added three more corner kicks without allowing Samford any attempts. Ockene did not have to make a save while her Samford counterpart totaled four in the last 45 minutes.

Seminoles Reach NCAA Third Round with Shutout of Lipscomb.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The No. 3-seeded Florida State soccer team defeated Lipscomb 1-0 in the NCAA Tournament Second Round on Thursday afternoon at Shaw Field in Washington, D.C.

FSU advances to the Third Round of the NCAA Tournament for the 22nd time in program history and the seventh time in the last eight years. Florida State improves to 85-19-6 all-time in NCAA play and 22-2-1 in the Second Round with Thursday's win.

The Seminoles (12-2-4) registered their 11th clean sheet of the season while halting the Bisons' (15-6-2) four-game win streak. FSU became the first team to score on LU in five games, as Lipscomb looked for a second consecutive upset in this year's NCAA Tournament.

Senior defender Heather Gilchrist netted the game-winning goal in the 24th minute on a corner kick assist from sophomore midfielder Taylor Suarez. The score that went on to keep Florida State's season alive is Gilchrist's fifth career goal and fourth of the season. It is her third game-winner.

Florida State controlled the pace offensively, posting 20 shots to Lipscomb's four, with a 6-1 advantage in shots on goal. FSU took seven corner kicks to LU's one. Freshman goalkeeper Kate Ockene registered her third consecutive complete game shutout with one save. The Bisons' keeper made five saves. Junior forward Jordynn Dudley had five shots and two shots on goal, both game highs.

The first shot of the afternoon was from freshman forward Nyanya Touray, who made her first start of the season against the Bisons. The attempt on the edge of the goal box narrowly sailed over the crossbar. Another chance would come soon after from sophomore forward Wrianna Hudson, whose attempt rolled just inches wide of the right goalpost.

Gilchrist netted the game's only goal at 23:22. A corner kick by Suarez near the goal line was deflected by the Lipscomb keeper, but Gilchrist was right there to get the rebound and put it into the top-left corner of the net. The score is Gilchrist's first career postseason goal. Suarez, who also assisted on the game-winning goal in last week's First Round win, earned her seventh assist of the season.

The ball primarily stayed in Florida State's offensive side of the pitch, as Dudley and Hudson forced saves from the LU goalkeeper on back-to-back attempts in the 26th minute. The final shot on goal came from sophomore midfielder Lara Dantas in the 44th minute, but a diving save kept the Seminoles from extending their lead.

Florida State outshot Lipscomb 12-1 with a 4-1 edge on frame in the first half. Hudson and Dudley led with three shots each, while Gilchrist and Touray both accounted for two. FSU took four corner kicks and held LU to zero. Ockene registered one save to her Bisons counterpart's three.

The second half started with several good chances the Seminoles offense, with four shots in the first five minutes of play. The first shot on goal of the half came from Suarez just over two minutes in, charging up field and firing a shot from the edge of the goal box that was snagged by the Bisons keeper.

Another chance on frame would come from Dudley in the 67th minute. A backwards header trailing towards the bottom right of the goal line would be scooped up just in time by Lipscomb.

LU had a chance late to tie it up, but the FSU defense preserved the shutout. That included a shot forced wide in the final 20 seconds and a last-second corner kick that was taken as the clock expired.

Florida State bested Lipscomb 8-3 in shots through the final 45 minutes, registering two on goal to Lipscomb's zero. The Seminoles had a 3-1 advantage in corner kicks in the second half. Ockene faced no shots on goal in the second half and LU's keeper made two more saves.

No. 3 FSU Advances to Host NCAA Quarterfinal with Win at No. 2 Georgetown.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The No. 3-seeded Florida State soccer team defeated No. 2-seed and host Georgetown 3-1 in the Third Round of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday afternoon at Shaw Field in Washington, D.C.

With the win, FSU advances to the NCAA Quarterfinal and will host Ohio State on Friday, November 28 at the Seminole Soccer Complex.

FSU improves to 86-19-6 all-time in the NCAA Tournament and 18-3-1 in the Third Round. With their second-ever Third Round road win in five games, and the first since 2003 at West Virginia, the Seminoles advance to the Quarterfinal for the seventh time in the last eight years. Florida State has reached the Quarterfinal in 19 of its 26 all-time NCAA appearances.

With Sunday afternoon's win, the Seminoles (13-2-4) are unbeaten in their last six games with a 15-4 scoring margin. FSU improved to 3-0-1 in the postseason and the win over the Hoyas (16-4-3) came in the team's first true road game of the postseason.

Junior defender Mimi Van Zanten scored Florida State's first goal five minutes before halftime as part of her first career three-point game. Freshman midfielder Nyanya Touray made it 2-0 just 94 seconds into the second half with the eventual game-winner. After GU cut the lead in half at 2-1 in the 58th minute, freshman defender Jaida McGrew scored the first goal of her career 20 minutes later to seal the win.

In a close, back-and-forth and physical contest with chances throughout for both sides, Florida State outshot Georgetown 10-9. Both teams posted five shots on goal. GU had five corner kicks and held FSU to two. Freshman goalkeeper Kate Ockene tied a career-high with four saves, including three in the first half in a goalless game, while her Hoya counterpart stopped two shots. Nine different Seminoles would take shots, led by Touray with two.

Van Zanten had a goal and an assist for her first career three-point game.

Sophomore forward Taylor Suarez initiated early pressure just 30 seconds into the match to force a swatting save from the Hoyas keeper.

Georgetown's offense pressured Ockene and forced her to make three saves in the first half. She punched away a high shot from the edge of the penalty box for her first stop in the 13th minute, and recorded her second save in the 22nd minute, knocking away a lofty pass while under pressure in the goal box and remaining on her feet to secure the loose ball a second later. Ockene's third save came in the 31st minute thanks to timely positioning.

Following GU's offensive push, Touray and sophomore forward Peyton McGovern turned the pressure back on Georgetown, as both fired shots minutes apart that just sailed over the crossbar.

As the clock wound down on the half, a chance would appear that Van Zanten converted at 39:17. Nourse worked the ball up the field, connecting with Dudley who passed it right back. Misdirection from a Georgetown defender centered the ball for a rushing Van Zanten, whose shot slipped under the leg of the Hoyas keeper for her sixth career goal and first of 2025. The assist is Nourse's third and Dudley's team-leading 13th of the season.

Florida State outshot Georgetown 6-4 in the first half, yet the home side held a 3-2 advantage in shots on goal. The Hoyas had two corner kicks to the Seminoles' zero. Ockene made three saves to the GU keeper's one.

Touray added on to the lead quickly out of halftime at 46:34. A corner kick by Suarez bounced around in the goal box before a failed clearance found Touray deep in the penalty box, setting her up to bury a shot into the top left corner. Along with being her second goal of her freshman campaign, the score marks Touray's first postseason goal.

Georgetown scored its lone goal almost 11 minutes later, at 57:25. A header by GU was knocked away by Ockene, but the deflected ball was shot into the left corner of the net from the edge of the penalty box. The goal made it 2-1, but that's as close as the home side would get.

Twenty minutes later, McGrew responded with the final goal of the game at 77:36. A high pass into the penalty box by Van Zanten was headed off the bounce and past the Hoyas keeper by the freshman for her first goal. Van Zanten's assist was her fifth of 2025.

FSU had a chance at a fourth goal in the 84th minute on a shot by Hudson, but Georgetown managed to stop the attempt.

Meanwhile, as the Hoyas looked to cut into the deficit, the Seminole defense allowed just one shot after taking the 3-1 lead, which was forced off target.

Georgetown outshot Florida State 5-4 in the second half, yet each team posted three shots on frame. FSU earned two corner kicks to GU's three. Ockene and the Hoyas keeper each recorded one save.

Florida State Punches Ticket to NCAA College Cup.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The No. 3-seed Florida State soccer team advanced to the NCAA College Cup with a 4-1 win over Ohio State in front of a sold-out crowd at the Seminole Soccer Complex on Friday night.

With the win, FSU will make its 15th College Cup appearance, second-most all-time, and fifth in the last six years. The Seminoles improved to 87-19-6 in the NCAA Tournament and 13-4-2 in the Quarterfinals, with a five game unbeaten streak in the round of eight. The Seminoles will now travel to Kansas City, Missouri, for the National Semifinal on December 5 against the winner of Saturday's matchup between No. 1-seed Vanderbilt and No. 2-seed TCU.

The Seminoles (14-2-4) extended their unbeaten streak to eight consecutive games, with a 19-5 scoring margin in their last six contests. As FSU improves to 4-0-0 in the NCAA Tournament, it closes out its home slate with an 8-1-2 mark at the Seminole Soccer Complex. Florida State beat a Buckeyes (11-5-6) side that had upset three consecutive seeded opponents away from home to reach the Quarterfinal.

Junior forward Jordynn Dudley netted her eighth career brace on Friday night, scoring the first two goals of the contest just 4:10 apart, including the game-winner. It's her second career postseason brace and third of the season. The National Player of the Year finalist also had an assist for her second five-point game of the year and fifth game with at least three points. Dudley led the offense with a career-high 11 shots in the win, five on goal.

After Dudley's goals in the 36th and 40th minutes, junior midfielder Yuna McCormack got the Seminoles' third goal in the 51st minute just 78 seconds after OSU scored to make it a 2-1 game. Sophomore forward Wrianna Hudson netted the final score in the 85th minute to put the game away at 4-1.

Freshman midfielder Nawreen Ahmad assisted on Dudley's first goal and senior defender Sophia Nguyen got the assist on Dudley's eventual game winner. Freshman forward Nyanya Touray and Dudley were credited with assists on McCormack's score, while sophomore midfielder Taylor Suarez and senior defender Heather Gilchrist assisted on Hudson's. Suarez's assist was her team-best fourth of the postseason and Ahmad got her first collegiate assist.

Florida State outshot Ohio State 25-14 with a 13-4 advantage in shots on goal. The Seminoles took five corner kicks while holding the Buckeyes to two. Freshman goalkeeper Kate Ockene posted three saves to her OSU counterpart's eight.

Ohio State had the first chance of the night, forcing a save by Ockene within the first three minutes of play. Momentum quickly flipped to the Seminoles, who had five different players force saves out of the Buckeye keeper. FSU forced a total of six saves in the first 35 minutes before Dudley found the back of the net at 35:40. A long pass sent feet away from the OSU bench from Ahmad landed at Dudley's feet near the penalty spot, and she tapped it in through pressure from a defender and the keeper.

Dudley extended the lead less than five minutes later at 39:50. A pass in from Nguyen saw Dudley rush by two defenders and place a left-footed shot past the goalkeeper to the far post to put the Seminoles up 2-0. The goal was Dudley's 11th of the season, second-most on the team, and Nguyen got her second assist.

Florida State outshot Ohio State 16-5 in the first half with a 9-1 edge in shots on goal. FSU took three corners while holding OSU without one. Ockene made one save to the Buckeye keeper's seven. Dudley led the effort with a season high seven shots in the first half.

Ohio State would cut the lead in half shortly after halftime in the 50th minute, but McCormack quickly answered just 82 seconds later at 50:40. A string of passes from Dudley to Touray found a rushing McCormack in the penalty box, who fired from the right of the penalty spot to the near post. She slotted it home past the sliding Buckeye keeper, who was off her line at the edge of the six. The score is McCormack's sixth of the season and her second of the postseason. Dudley's assist gives her a team-best 14, while Touray earns her second of the year.

Ockene made two more saves in the 57th and 84th minutes to hold off the Buckeyes while the Seminoles kept up the offensive pressure. It would pay off in the 85th minute as a lofty pass from Gilchrist into the goal box found Suarez by the endline, who kept the play alive with a centering pass to Hudson. With the keeper drawn away, Hudson had no trouble burying the ball into the center of the net for the fourth and final goal of the game. The goal is her team-best 13th of the season as Gilchrist collected her first assist and Suarez's eighth.

Through the second half, both teams posted an even nine shots, though FSU held a 4-3 edge on target. Florida State and Ohio State each took two corner kicks and both goalkeepers made two saves.

No. 3 FSU Advances to National Championship Game With Win Over No. 2 TCU.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The No. 3-seeded Florida State soccer team defeated No. 2-seed TCU 1-0 in the College Cup National Semifinal on Friday evening at CPKC Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.

With the win, the FSU advances to the National Championship game for the eighth time in program history and the fifth time in the last eight years. The Seminoles improve to 88-19-6 all-time in the NCAA Tournament and 7-7-1 in the Semifinals. Florida State will play for its fifth national championship on Monday, December 8, against top-seeded Stanford.

The Seminoles (15-2-4) extend their unbeaten streak to nine consecutive games with a perfect 5-0-0 mark in NCAA play. The victory snaps the Horned Frogs' (18-3-3) 12-game unbeaten stretch and is FSU's 12th clean sheet of the season and third of the Tournament. Florida State has outscored its opponents 17-3 in its last seven games.

Sophomore forward Wrianna Hudson netted the game winner in the 73rd minute, the latest opening goal FSU has ever scored in a non-goalless NCAA Semifinal.. It's Hudson's team-best 14th goal of the season, third of the postseason, and fourth total game winner. Senior defender Sophia Nguyen notched her third assist of the season and second of the postseason in as many games. Sophomore midfielder Peyton McGovern also earned an assist, her second of the year.

Florida State outshot TCU 15-7 with an 8-2 edge in shots on goal. The Horned Frogs took six corner kicks to the Seminoles' four. Freshman goalkeeper Kate Ockene managed two saves, including one in the final seconds, while TCU's keeper recorded seven stops. Junior forward Jordynn Dudley led the attack with a game-high six shots and Hudson led all players with two shots on goal.

The Horned Frogs pressured early, working a save out of Ockene hardly four minutes into play. A long shot from outside of the 18-yard box was easily blocked and scooped by the freshman for her first stop of the night.

The Seminoles then forced two saves out of the TCU keeper in the next five minutes. Hudson had the first chance of the night in the seventh minute after creating free space through a contested pass into the goal box. Her right-footed shot however was intercepted by the sliding keeper. On the following corner kick, a header from Dudley found the foot of senior defender Kameron Simmonds, whose mid-air attempt was scooped up feet away from the goal line.

A close shot by freshman forward Jaida McGrew was narrowly tipped over the crossbar by the Horned Frog keeper in the 33rd minute. A pass from Nguyen at the top of the penalty area to the freshman set her up in perfect position, but the shot directed to the top left corner clipped the gloves of the keeper and went high.

Florida State outshot TCU 9-3 in the first half with a 3-1 edge on goal. FSU took four corner kicks while TCU had three. Ockene recorded one save to the Horned Frog keeper's three. Dudley led the offensive push with five of the nine total first half shots while three different Seminoles posted a shot on frame.

Three more saves would be worked out of the TCU keeper across an eight-minute span. Junior midfielder Yuna McCormack took the first shot of the second half for the Seminoles in the 61st minute. A centering pass near midfield by Simmonds found McCormack, who dribbled to the top of the penalty box and fired at the bottom right corner, forcing a diving save from TCU. Five minutes later, sophomore forward Taylor Suarez would receive a cross to the right side, but her running shot would be intercepted. Junior defender Mimi Van Zanten's attempt from the left edge of the penalty box would curl into the far post but right into the hands of the keeper.

Hudson finally broke the ice at 72:47, netting the first and only goal for the Seminoles. McGovern sent a pass to Nguyen on the right sideline, who fired a long pass into the goal box. Hudson met it perfectly, and a timely left-footed tap beat the keeper to the spot for her third postseason goal. Nguyen recorded her second postseason assist in consecutive games while McGovern earned the first postseason assist of her Seminole career.

McCormack would pressure nearly a minute later at 73:43. She worked past her defender on the left edge of the 18-yard box before targeting the right post, but a dive from the Horned Frog keeper knocked the attempt out to the far right.

The Horned Frogs, desperate to tie the contest, battled down to the final minute of play. With three seconds remaining, an incredible block by Ockene in the goal box kept the Horned Frogs off the board and secured the 1-0 shutout win for Florida State.

In the second half, FSU outshot TCU 6-4 with a 5-1 advantage on frame. TCU managed three corner kicks to the Seminoles' zero. Ockene made one save to her TCU's counterparts four.

Champs Again! Florida State Soccer Wins Fifth National Title.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Florida State soccer team won its fifth national title with a dramatic 1-0 win over Stanford in the NCAA College Cup National Championship Game on Monday night at CPKC Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.

The 20th title overall across Florida State Athletics, soccer's fifth National Championship title comes just two years after their last in 2023. It is the program's third in the last five years and fifth in its last six appearances in the National Championship Game, joining the title runs of 2014, 2018, 2021 and 2023.

Florida State improves to 89-19-6 all-time in the NCAA Tournament with a 5-3 record in the Championship Game. It is the second championship under fourth-year head coach Brian Pensky.

As familiar foes in the postseason, the third-seeded Seminoles (16-2-4) prevailed over the top-seeded Cardinal (21-2-2) in the seventh meeting all time in the NCAA Tournament and fifth in the College Cup between the two sides. They met once again on the biggest stage after a 5-1 win in the 2023 title game.

Sophomore forward Wrianna Hudson earned Offensive Most Outstanding Player honors and freshman goalkeeper Kate Ockene was named the Defensive Most Outstanding Player. Hudson scored the game-winning goal in the 87th minute, her fourth goal of the postseason and her second game-winning score in the College Cup, both 1-0 contests. Meanwhile, Ockene made a career-best nine saves, one shy of tying the FSU record for saves in an NCAA Tournament game.

Senior defender Hether Gilchrist and sophomore midfielders Peyton McGovern and Taylor Suarez joined Hudson and Ockene on the College Cup All-Tournament Team.

As Hudson scored her team-leading 15th goal of the season, Suarez earned her fifth assist of the Tournament and ninth of the season, while sophomore defender Janet Okeke registered her first collegiate assist.

As Ockene's nine saves topped her previous career high of five, she collected her fifth shutout of her young career. She recorded 20 saves across the NCAA Tournament and finishes the season with a 9-0-3 record in goal. Her 20 NCAA saves are tied for sixth-most in a career in school history in postseason contests.

The Cardinal held an 18-8 advantage in shots with a 9-3 edge in shots on goal. Florida State managed four corner kicks to Stanford's seven. Junior forward Jordynn Dudley tallied a team-leading four shots, while four other Seminoles recorded one shot each and three had one shot on goal.

Ockene hit her a new career high in saves less than 10 minutes into the game. The first Stanford chance came 19 seconds in, curling towards the right post yet with enough space for the freshman to dive and secure the ball. About five minutes later, Ockene made two saves about a minute apart. A Stanford chance from the right side of the penalty area was easily blocked by Ockene in the sixth minute, followed by a scooping stop on the left side at a minute later. She later made two great stops to punch away a pair of headers over the crossbar 37 seconds apart in the ninth minute.

The first shot of the night for FSU came from Suarez in the 15th minute. She ran up the right side, working past defenders but came off too strong on the shot, which sailed over the top of the goal.

Another quick save from Ockene in the 23rd minute kept Stanford off the board in the first half. A quick mid-air tap from just outside the goal box saw Ockene drop to her side to knock the low ball away. She made another save seven minutes later, easily securing a header attempt in the 30th.

A shot from junior midfielder Yuna McCormack in the 32nd minute would be the last attack of the half from the Seminoles, yet the defense proved resilient throughout the final minutes. Both sides left the pitch scoreless through the initial 45 minutes.

Stanford led 11-4 in shots with a 7-0 advantage on goal in the first half. The Seminoles took one corner kick to the Cardinal's five. Ockene made seven saves while her Stanford counterpart was without one. Dudley led with two shots while McCormack and Suarez posted one each.

Neither team took a shot through the first 15 minutes of the second half. Senior defender Kameron Simmonds managed the first shot on goal for the Seminoles in the 63rd minute, firing a long chance from the top of the 18-yard box to force a diving save out of the Cardinal keeper. Dudley followed up two minutes later, taking a mid-range chance in the 65th that the keeper managed to keep in front.

A strong free kick fired beyond the penalty box by Stanford was knocked away by Ockene in the 70th minute for her eighth save, and one of her best on the night. She made another timely catch in the 76th minute, perfectly positioned to intercept a header near the center of the goal.

As tensions ramped in the final minutes of regulation, Hudson was the one again to break the ice, one game after she posted the game-winner in the 73rd minute in the National Semifinal. An FSU corner kick saw the ball traded between the Seminoles and Cardinal until a failed clearance allowed Florida State to regain control. From the top of the penalty area, Okeke passed it to the right and found Suarez in open space. Her crossing pass into the goal box was initially countered by a sliding Stanford defender, but the attempt landed right at the feet of Hudson whose quick footwork knocked it into the back of the net.

The score was Hudson's 15th of the season, fourth of the postseason and would prove to be the game-winning goal, the second she's managed in NCAA play and her fifth of the 2025 campaign.

Stanford rattled off two more shots looking for the late equalizer, but the Seminole defense remained sturdy through the final three minutes of play to lock in the 1-0 win.

In the second half, Florida State put up four shots to Stanford's seven but held a 3-2 edge in shots on frame. The Seminoles took three corners to the Cardinal's two and each keeper managed two saves.
