Florida State joins Big 12 in Beach Volleyball.
September 24, 2025
IRVING, Tex. - The Big 12 Conference has added three affiliate members in beach volleyball for the 2025-26 academic year. Boise State, Florida State and South Carolina will join Arizona, Arizona State and TCU in the Conference's beach volleyball league and will begin playing this spring.
Florida State advanced to its ninth straight NCAA tournament in 2025 as a member of the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association, a conference it won seven times. The Seminoles have reached the NCAA tournament each year since its inception in 2016 and three times have played in the National Championship final: 2016, 2018 and 2022.
FSU will face Arizona State and Boise State for the first time this season. Currently, the Noles are undefeated against Arizona and South Carolina with 2-0 and 25-0 records, respectively. Florida State has a 14-6 all-time lead against TCU as well.
The 2026 Big 12 Beach Volleyball Championship will be hosted on campus at Arizona's Bear Down Beach.

Durish & Koenig Named First-Team All-Americans; Five Seminoles Earn Big 12 Honors. GULF SHORES, Ala. - Florida State beach volleyball continued to
receive national and conference recognition Wednesday with the announcement of AVCA All-Americans and Big 12 honors. Seniors Alexis Durish and Audrey Koenig, who are 29-0 playing together this
season, were named AVCA first team All-Americans for the second consecutive season. Durish, Koenig, senior Maddie Trusty and sophomores Gella Andrew and Bailey Higgins earned All-Big 12 honors, while
head coach Brooke Niles was the Big 12 Coach of the Year in the Seminoles' first season in the league. In addition to their All-America and Big 12 recognition, Durish and Koenig were also the Big
12 Pair of the Year. After being awarded Big 12 Tournament Most Outstanding Pair, both players are finalists for the AVCA Player of the Year award. The duo has recorded 29 wins together this season,
taking down fellow NCAA tournament participants in TCU, LMU, USC, and Cal. Andrew and Trusty have competed primarily on court two, putting up 11 wins and taking down seven ranked opponents. After
clinching the Big 12 championship match versus No. 9 TCU, the duo was also named to the All-Tournament team. Together, Andrew and Trusty have a combined 39 wins with 28 coming from court two.
Higgins has managed a 30-3 season, playing on courts four and five alongside Trusty and redshirt sophomore Myriah Massey. Higgins has played a perfect 10-0 season on court four, recording wins versus
No. 13 LSU (23-21, 21-13) and No. 9 TCU (21-16, 21-14) to earn the Noles' second dual point in the championship final. Niles has led FSU to a 33-2 record entering the NCAA Tournament, matching the
school record for wins in a season. FSU's Big 12 title was the teams eighth in 10 full seasons under Niles and the Seminoles have reached the NCAA Tournament all 10 years it has been held. Niles' 323
wins are the most in NCAA beach volleyball history.

Seminoles Take Three Matches to Open FSU Unconquered Invitational.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida State beach volleyball team began its 2026 season with three dual sweeps at the FSU Unconquered Invitational, beating UAB, Cal State Bakersfield, and Georgia State.
The Seminoles recorded 10 set wins against UAB, needing only two three-set duals to complete the sweep. Kyleene Filimaua and Kenzie Hultquist made quick work on court five, securing their two-set victory at 21-10 and 21-12.
FSU continued to dominate in their second match, with each court finishing in only two sets. In set one, Jordan Boulware and Audrey Rothman managed to keep the Roadrunners court one to only seven points (21-7) before closing set two and the dual at 21-11.
In the Noles final match of the day, it was a nail-biter set two on court two with new addition Saofe Duval and sophomore Gella Andrew. After taking set one 21-18, FSU fell back four points to the Panthers. Thanks to a major scoop and swing from Duval, set two ended 21-19 Florida State.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida State beach volleyball team continued their strong performance in the 2026 FSU Unconquered Invitational, winning both matches against North Alabama and Southeastern Louisiana. The Seminoles are 25 for 25 in dual points won, needing less than 50 sets to secure the sweeps.
FSU took on UNA in their first match of the day, mixing some pairs on the lower courts. Court five featured last year's All-American freshman Bailey Higgins alongside seasoned veteran Maddie Trusty. They finished sets one and two quickly, ending the first at 21-14 and the second at 21-13.
It was Jess Horwath and Myriah Massey who earned the first of five dual points against North Alabama, with Massey digging multiple hard swings from the Lions to keep the rally going. Set one ended 21-18. They commanded a strong five point plus lead for most of set two, closing the battle 21-12.
To finish day two of the tournament, the Seminoles faced SELU with almost entirely new pairings. Freshman Julia Tennoy and Jordan Boulware took court one and secured Tennoy's first win with Florida State. Southeastern Louisiana kept it close on court five, where Higgins and freshman Elena Lam had to put together multiple side court shots to finally close a forced set three 15-7.

After competing against SELU, UAB, Cal State Bakersfield, North Alabama and Georgia State, FSU earned 35 dual points total and dropped none to their opponents.
The Noles have opened their season 6-0 with complete dual wins, bringing them one step closer to breaking their record streak currently sitting at 8-0. This record was set during the programs inaugural season in 2012, including sweeps against UAB, Tulane, and FGCU.
16 Florida State athletes walked away from the tournament with a win under their belt, demonstrating a roster depth that head coach Brooke Niles has been shaping for years. Six players also earned their first dual victory as Seminoles, including Saofe Duval, Camryn Haworth, Jess Horwath, Elena Lam, Lennox Langham, and Julia Tennoy.
In their final match against the Lions, FSU earned four of five dual points in only two sets. On court four, Haworth and Kyleene Filimaua battled into a set three after falling 20-22 to SELU in set two. Thanks to some nice digs from Haworth and a late set spike from Filimaua, set three ended 15-10 Florida State.
