Two Seminoles Named PING All-Americans.
Senior Jamie Li earns an honorable mention All-America honor while junior John Pak is named to the second team.

April 24, 2020

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Junior John Pak and senior Jamie Li were named PING All-Americans as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Pak's selection to the second team makes him a three-time All-American with the Seminoles, joining FSU legend Nolan Henke as the only Seminoles to attain All-America honors in three different years. Pak's seven career wins also trail only Henke's eight victories on the FSU career list.

"I personally feel John should have been on the First Team," FSU head coach Trey Jones said. "If we would have been given the opportunity to finish the season, John was headed to the Valspar and ACC Championship where he would have been a favorite to win. Either way, there is no shame in being on the Second Team. He has proven he is one of the top players in college golf and well-deserving of his honors."

The Scotch Plains, N.J., native was selected as a Third Team All-American by the GCAA in 2018 and a First Team pick last year. In his shortened junior year, Pak was ranked as the fourth-best collegiate golfer according to the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings.

In the 2019-20 year, Pak won his seventh collegiate tournament when we won the Seminole Intercollegiate. He shot an 11-under 205 and won the tournament by five strokes. He ended the year shooting under par in nine of his last 10 rounds played.

Li becomes the 32nd Seminole to earn All-America honors. The Bath, England, native made a noticeable improvement in each of his four years with FSU, culminating with his first All-America season as a senior. In 2019-20, Li recorded a career-low 70.39 scoring average.

"Jamie has made a great progression over the past two years and this is proof that he is becoming one of the top college players," Jones added. "I look for Jamie to use this to validate his hard work and motivate him to be a First Team candidate next year."

Li's scoring average as a senior ranks as the fifth-lowest in a year by a Seminole. Included was a career-low -0.78 average vs. par in his six tournaments played, finishing in the Top 10 in three of those tournaments.

Two Top-5 finishes were recorded by Li this past year - both coming at premier tournaments. He tied for fourth at the Cabo Collegiate (5-under 208) and also tied for fourth at the Fighting Illini Invitational shooting even-par.

Florida State Men's Golf has produced at least one All-American for the ninth consecutive year. The other FSU All-Americans from 2012 to the present include Brooks Koepka (2010 and 2012), Daniel Berger (2013), Chase Seiffert (2013), Jack Maguire (2014, 2015), Hank Lebioda (2015, 2016), Rowin Caron (2015), Harry Ellis (2017) and Cristobal Del Solar (2017).

Anderson Shoots Career-Opening 66 at Maui Jim Intercollegiate.
Redshirt freshman Cole Anderson carded a spectacular opening round to aid the Seminoles at Mirabel Golf Club in Arizona.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Redshirt freshman Cole Anderson was the big highlight of Florida State Men's Golf's opening round of the fall season. He made his FSU debut by carding a 4-under 66 at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate at Mirabel Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Anderson, who hails from Camden, Maine, enrolled early at FSU in January but did not compete in the 2019 spring season. His first nine holes as a Seminole included two birdies and a 34, but his second nine were even more impressive when he registered two birdies and an eagle for a 32. His eagle came on the seventh-hole par 5, 558 yards out.

Anderson is tied for 10th overall. Also playing well was junior Parker Reddig, who shot a 1-over 71. Reddig added FSU's other eagle on the day, scoring a 3 on the par-5, 561-yard 17th hole. Reddig led the Seminoles with six birdies on the day, tying for the 10th-most among the 75-player field at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate.

The Seminoles are 14th in the 15-team field at 3-over (283). The Top 5 teams on the leaderboard include Arizona State (-18), Clemson (-15), Arizona (-12) and Kent State (-11) and Illinois (-11).

Senior Jamie Li recorded a 2-over 72, while sophomore Calvin Sierota shot 4-over and fellow sophomore Alberto Martinez carded a 5-over 75.

In the individual-based Mea Lanakila Individual, senior Greyson Porter is tied for 16th at 3-over and freshman Fletcher Wunderlich is tied for 21st at 4-over.

September 14, 2019

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Senior Jamie Li came to play on Saturday at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate. The Bath, England, native produced a 2-under 68 to lead the way for Florida State Men's Golf at the Mirabel Golf Club.

Li registered seven birdies in the second round of the tournament, recording a 33 on the back nine and a 35 on the front nine. He was the only Seminole on Saturday to shoot under par, and leads FSU overall with an even-par score to tie for 44th.

Sophomore Calvin Sierota followed with a 1-over 71 in the second round, and is shooting 5-over for the tournament and tied for 62nd. Sierota carded a 33 on the front nine to help bolster his day, adding four birdies overall.

Redshirt freshman Cole Anderson, who debuted with an impressive 66 on Friday, is tied for 53rd at 2-over. He shot a 76 on Saturday, while sophomore Alberto Martinez shot a 75 and junior Parker Reddig shot a 78.

At the Mea Lanakila Individual Tournament, freshman Fletcher Wunderlich moved up two spots to tie for 19th at 5-over (76-73), while senior Greyson Porter is tied for 26th at 10-over (75-79).

Florida State is last among the 15-team field in the Maui Jim Intercollegiate, shooting 10-over on Saturday. FSU is 13-over (283-290) through the first two rounds of the tournament.

Li Shows Consistency at Maui Jim Intercollegiate.
Men's Golf's Jamie Li shoots a final-round 67 and ties for 24th overall at 3-under.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Jamie Li is off to a nice start in what he hopes will be his biggest season yet. The senior England native fired a final-round 67 and finished 3-under overall (72-68-67) to lead Florida State Men's Golf at this weekend's Maui Jim Intercollegiate held at Mirabel Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Despite the Seminoles finishing last in the tournament with a final score of 18-over (283-290-285), Li was a bright spot this weekend in what will be a very important year for him. His final round included four birdies and just one hole over par. Through his three rounds played, Li totaled 14 birdies to tie for the eighth most in the field.

Li tied for 24th among the tournament's 75 competing golfers. He climbed the leaderboard over the three days and went from 57th to 44th to 24th.

Arizona State won the Maui Jim Intercollegiate after shooting 38-under. The Sun Devils' Cameron Sisk led the field by shooting 14-under.

Sophomore Calvin Sierota finished second among the Seminoles, tying for 55th at 4-over (74-71-69). He saved his best round of the weekend for Sunday, carding a 32 on the back nine where he started from to finish with a 69. Sierota birdied three of his first six holes in his final round, including consecutive birdies to begin on holes 10 and 11.

Redshirt freshman Cole Anderson shot a 78 on Sunday and finished tied for 67th at 10-over (66-76-78). Junior Parker Reddig and sophomore Alberto Martinez each tied for 71st, shooting 14-over apiece.

Men's Golf Posts Strong First Round at Olympia Fields.
Florida State is just four shots off the lead and in fourth place with a 2-over showing.

September 20, 2019

OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. - Another solid performance from senior Jamie Li paced Florida State Men's Golf on Friday. Li's 2-under 68 helped FSU to a 2-over 282 showing as it sits in fourth place in the first round at the OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational held at Olympia Fields Country Club.

The Seminoles are only four shots off the lead from first-place Georgia Tech (-2). The Yellow Jackets were the only team to shoot under par in the first round, being trailed by second-place Pepperdine (even), Texas (+1), FSU and a fifth-place tie between Texas A&M, California and Baylor (+3).

Li continues riding a hot streak as he produced his third straight round in the 60s and his third round in the 60s in four rounds played this year. It was a back-nine 33 that sparked the England native, recording two back-nine birdies and nothing above par. His front nine began with a bogey on the first hole, but he bounced back with two more birdies.

Li is tied for second overall. Junior John Pak's return boosted the Seminoles, as he shot an even-par 70 to tie for 13th. The highlight of his day was when he holed out an eagle on his approach on the fifth hole - a par 4, 417-yard hole. Three back-nine bogeys hurt Pak's finish, but he is more than capable of coming back on Saturday and going lower.

Redshirt freshman Cole Anderson shot a 1-over 71 to tie for 21st, his second straight first-round showing that included a good performance. He birdied his first hole on the par-5, 580-yarder, and added another birdie on the sixth hole that was a par 3 from 187 yards out.

Senior Greyson Porter is tied for 47th at 3-over. Freshman Fletcher Wunderlich, playing as an individual, is tied for 56th at 4-over. Sophomore Calvin Sierota is tied for 73rd at 7-over.

Pak and Li Hold Steady at Olympia Fields.

September 21, 2019

OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. - Saturday was all about weathering the storm. Despite Florida State Men's Golf moving down the leaderboard at 19-over, senior Jamie Li and junior John Pak held steady in the second round of the OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational at Olympia Fields Country Club.

None of the 15 competing teams shot under par in the second round. The Seminoles shot a 17-over 297 and are tied with Florida for eighth place. Baylor leads the tournament at 4-over, and was one of just two teams who shot lower in their second round compared to their opening round.

Li was again anchoring Florida State, shooting a 1-over 71 and sitting in a tie for third at 1-under overall. The England native managed three birdies on a day where quality scoring was hard to come by. He trails tournament leader Austin Eckroat (-3) of Oklahoma State by just two strokes.

Pak also shot a 71 in the second round, and is tied for ninth on the leaderboard at 1-over. The Scotch Plains, N.J., native also added three birdies, including ones that went back-to-back on holes 16 and 17.

Redshirt freshman Cole Anderson also hung in there for a 4-over 74 on Saturday. Anderson is tied for 31st in the field.

Playing as an individual, freshman Fletcher Wunderlich is tied for 67th at 11-over. Senior Greyson Porter is tied for 73rd at 14-over, and Calvin Sierota is 83rd at 20-over.

Li Records Top 5 Finish at Olympia Fields.
Senior Jamie Li's even-par performance allows him to tie for fourth at the challenging OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational.

September 22, 2019

OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. - Make it another productive weekend for Florida State Men's golf senior Jamie Li.

The native of Bath, England, tied for fourth at the OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational on Sunday, exiting his stay at Olympia Fields Country Club by shooting even-par (68-71-71) over his three rounds played. It marks Li's fourth Top-5 finish and his first since placing third out of 75 competitors at last year's NCAA Myrtle Beach Regional.

Li has now led FSU in each of its two fall tournaments. He carded two birdies and three bogeys in his final round on Sunday, doing his best to tackle a challenging golf course that has given plenty of PGA TOUR players fits over the years. Li began his day with a birdie on the opening par-5 first hole, and added his other birdie on the par-3, 13th hole.

The senior leader had a shot at tying for third in the tournament, but he bogeyed on the long par-4, 496-yard 18th hole. Only six of the 84 golfers at the OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational managed to shoot even par or lower, and Li was one of them.

Baylor's Cooper Dossey won the tournament after shooting 4-under. Georgia Tech and Baylor were co-champions after shooting 6-over each.

Florida State finished eighth in the field at 21-over (282-297-282). Despite moving itself out of contention on Saturday, FSU came back and shot 15 strokes better in its final round.

Junior John Pak tied for 14th in his fall debut, shooting 3-over (70-71-72) for the tournament. His lone birdie in the final round came on the 450-yard, par-4 17th hole.

Redshirt freshman Cole Anderson tied for 27th at 6-over (71-74-71). Senior Greyson Porter tied for 54th, while freshman Fletcher Wunderlich tied for 78th and sophomore Calvin Sierota tied for 80th.

Anderson and Reddig Go Unblemished in Match Play.

by Steve Stone

DUBLIN, OHIO - Redshirt freshman Cole Anderson and sophomore Parker Reddig carried Florida State Men's Golf during the first day of match play vs. Duke at Muirfield Village Golf Club at the Jack Nicklaus Invitational.

The foursome and four-ball pairing of Anderson and Reddig finished 1-0-1 on the day, but the Seminoles fell to the seventh-ranked Blue Devils, 4.5-1.5, and will battle for third place on Tuesday against Ohio State.

In the morning foursome matches, Anderson and Reddig took down Duke's Quinn Riley and Qi wen Wong 5&4 to deliver Florida State's lone match-play win. Reddig and Anderson never let their opponents take a lead, going up three holes when they birdied on the eighth hole. They put the match out of reach when a par was recorded on the 14th hole to match Duke's score, staying up five with four holes remaining to end the match.

Anderson and Reddig then held strong in the afternoon four-ball match against Riley and Wong. Through 12 holes, the Seminoles held a two-hole lead, but lost three of their next four holes to go down by one with two holes remaining. Both teams halved on the 17th to keep the one-hole deficit for FSU, but the Seminoles wound up halving the match by recording a 4 to Duke's 5 on the 18th.

The 1.5 points garnered by Anderson and Reddig were all that FSU could muster. The combination of Greyson Porter and Fletcher Wunderlich lost both matches on Monday, as did John Pak/Jamie Li.

Florida State Men's Golf Defeats Ohio State in Match Play.
The Seminoles finish third at the Jack Nicklaus Invitational after squeezing out a 3.5-2.5 win on Tuesday.

DUBLIN, OHIO - The Florida State Men's Golf team will return to Tallahassee with a match-play victory, taking down tournament host Ohio State at the Jack Nicklaus Invitational held at Muirfield Village Golf Club on Tuesday.

The Seminoles defeated the Buckeyes, 3.5-2.5, to secure third place at the tournament. No. 15 Clemson defeated No. 7 Duke, 3.5-2.5, to win the Jack Nicklaus Invitational title.

Overall, Florida State split its two matches after falling to Duke on Monday. But sophomore Parker Reddig completed a nice couple of days in Ohio, finishing 2-0-1 overall to lead the Garnet and Gold.

Reddig, a Minneapolis native, won his singles match on Tuesday against Ohio State's Grant Engle, 2&1. Reddig secured the win on the 17th hole, registering a par while Engle ended his run with a bogey. Through 15 holes, the match was tied until Reddig recorded a par on the par-3 16th opposite of Engle's bogey to go up by one hole.

Reddig combined with playing partner Cole Anderson to go 1-0-1 in foursome and four-ball action vs. Duke on Monday. The two-day tournament completes a productive showing for Reddig, who has worked hard to crack the Seminole starting five.

Anderson finished 1-0-2 at the invitational, halving Tuesday's singles match vs. Ohio State's Jackson Chandler. Anderson completed a startling comeback as he was down by three holes with only three remaining, but managed to defeat Chandler on the 16th, 17th and 18th holes to tie.

Senior Greyson Porter picked up a big win for the Seminoles, defeating Jonerik Alford 3&2. After initially going down by two holes in the first two holes played, Porter slowly chipped away before going up by three holes on the 14th when he registered a birdie. Both golfers then recorded par on their next two holes to finish the match.

Senior Jamie Li picked up the other FSU win as he defeated Felix Kvarnstrom 4&3.

Calvin Sierota's 66 ignites the Seminoles to their best round of the fall.

November 1, 2019

NASSAU, BAHAMAS - Sophomore Calvin Sierota's 6-under 66 showing has helped give the Florida State Men's Golf team the opening round lead at the White Sands Invitational held at the Ocean Club Golf Course in The Bahamas.

Sierota tied his career low for a single round on Friday as he registered seven birdies on the day, tying for the third most among the 84 competing golfers. The Seminoles shot their best round of the fall with a 13-under 275, and are currently leading second-place Houston by one stroke.

The Top 5 in the field include FSU (-13), Houston (-12), SMU (-10), Arkansas (-9) and Middle Tennessee State (-9).

Sierota is tied for second among all golfers, only trailing Wake Forest's Parker Gillam who recorded a 12-under 60. Sierota, who is from Melbourne, Fla., recorded four birdies in a five-hole span from holes 2-6. He totaled three consecutive birdies on holes 4-6, which includes two par 4s and a par 5.

Sophomore Alberto Martinez shot his lowest round of his career with a 4-under 68, adding five birdies to FSU's total. Martinez minimized his mistakes with just one bogey, shooting a 33 on the front nine and a 35 on the back end. Martinez is tied for sixth in the tournament.

Junior John Pak also had a solid round, shooting a 2-under 70 that included three consecutive birdies on holes 4-6. His only blemish on the day was a double bogey on the 17th-hole, 306-yard par 4 when he carded a six.

Senior Jamie Li is tied for 29th at 1-under, while junior Parker Reddig is 2-over. Redshirt freshman Cole Anderson is playing as an individual and is 2-over as well.

Sophomore Alberto Martinez is also tied for 22nd at 2-under (68-74). Redshirt freshman Cole Anderson shot a 71 in the second round as an individual. Junior Parker Reddig is currently 8-over and tied for 78th.

Houston is the tournament leader at 19-under, followed by FSU (-13), Wake Forest (-12), Miami Ohio (-11) and SMU (-10).

As a team, the Seminoles have taken advantage of the par 3 hole. FSU is second among the 14-team field in par 3 scoring at 3.03.

Men's Golf Completes Fall with Strong Showing.
The Seminoles finished second at the White Sands Invitational in The Bahamas, shooting 24-under.

November 3, 2019

NASSAU, BAHAMAS - The Florida State Men's Golf team exited its fall season on a high note, finishing in second place at the White Sands Invitational in The Bahamas after shooting 24-under (275-288-277) over the three-day tournament.

This weekend's strong showing was by far Florida State's best performance of the fall. FSU capped its trip by shooting 11-under on Sunday. FSU's three-day total was better than several other nationally-ranked programs including No. 1 Wake Forest (21-under), No. 22 Arkansas (22-under) and second-ranked SMU (12-under).

Three Seminoles finished in the Top 11, headlined by junior John Pak. The Scotch Plains, N.J., native shot a season-low 65 on Sunday and finished 9-under overall (70-72-65) to tie for sixth. Pak totaled an eagle, six birdies and just one bogey in his final-round performance.

Senior Jamie Li tied for 11th at 6-under (71-69-70) as he ends a productive fall season. Li used three back-nine birdies and shot a 34 on the back end to boost his performance. His performance this weekend combined with tying for fourth at the OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational on Sept. 22 proves he is ready to help carry the Seminoles through the spring.

Li tied with Wake Forest's Parker Gillam for the lowest par 5 scoring among all golfers at the tournament, with each shooting 10-under.

Sophomore Calvin Sierota's 6-under 210 (66-73-71) marks his lowest tournament score of his short career. Sierota gained plenty of confidence in The Bahamas, shooting a steady final-round score of 71 to end a very productive tournament.

Sophomore Alberto Martinez also shot his first tournament under par, going 3-under (68-74-71) to tie for 25th. Individual Cole Anderson tied for 40th at even par, and Parker Reddig tied for 73rd at 9-over.

Seminoles in Second at Mobile Tournament.

February 10, 2020

by Steve Stone

MOBILE, Ala. - The Florida State Men's Golf team has put itself in position to win its season-opening tournament at the Mobile Sports Authority Intercollegiate.

The Seminoles are in second place after carding a 17-under (278-281) through the first two rounds, trailing tournament leader Texas State (-23) by six strokes going into Tuesday's final round. Junior John Pak paced FSU by shooting 9-under on the day (66-69), sitting in second place behind only Texas State's Calvin Ross (-12).

"I'm proud of the way the young guys came out today," FSU head coach Trey Jones said. "We obviously have two great players in Jamie Li and John Pak - they're leaders of this team. But we have, from The Bahamas to here, seen some great progression from our younger players - from our sophomores to our freshmen."

Pak recorded 11 birdies in his two rounds played, tying for the second-most in the field. The All-American has the lowest par 4 scoring average so far, averaging 3.75. Pak only had two bogeys in his 36 holes played as he seeks his sixth collegiate victory on Tuesday.

Senior Jamie Li is tied for 14th alongside sophomore Calvin Sierota as both golfers finished the day at 2-under. Li (71-70) added nine birdies while Sierota (69-72) carded seven. Sierota finished his day with a birdie on the par-3, 185-yard second hole.

A couple of youthful golfers enjoyed fine performances on Monday. Redshirt freshman Cole Anderson and freshman Fletcher Wunderlich each shot 2-under, with Anderson adding 11 birdies through two rounds. Wunderlich's round, however, is not a counting score because he is playing as an individual.

"We like the progression they're making and we look forward to seeing how they perform tomorrow," Jones said of his younger players. "One of our goals is always to give ourselves a chance to win, and we'll definitely have a chance to win the golf tournament tomorrow."

Sophomore Alberto Martinez is tied for 75th (83-72) at 11-over.

The rest of the Top 5 includes 45th-ranked Illinois (-14), No. 43 UAB (-13) and No. 14 Louisville (-13). The Seminoles are looking to three-peat at the tournament, having won back-to-back years in 2018 and 2019.

"We led the field in birdies and that's always a goal," Jones added. "It shows we're making putts and playing aggressively. Anytime you're doing that you're doing some good stuff. It shows the talent of the team. We played well on par 3s and par 5s in the second round."

MOBILE, Ala. - The Florida State Men's Golf team has started to become synonymous with impressive finishes at the Mobile Sports Authority Intercollegiate.

"Obviously really proud of the guys for a great start to the spring season," FSU head coach Trey Jones said. "Especially proud of it being a team effort. We had some gut checks by some young guys today that had some things happen that they bounced back from beautifully."

The Seminoles entered the competition with consecutive tournament titles in Mobile, and the course once again proved favorable as junior All-American John Pak won another individual championship that helped Florida State secure their third straight tournament title in Mobile, Alabama.

Florida State held off a third-round push from red-hot Louisville and Illinois to finish first in Mobile at 28-under (278-281-277). Illinois placed second at just a stroke behind at 27-under, followed by Louisville (-26), UAB (-22) and first-day leader Texas State (-22).

"John Pak winning by six shows the quality of player he is," Jones added. "He put the team on his back. Also Jamie Li shoots a bogey-free 68. These guys are showing the young guys the way. When you get 10-under from those guys and the other guys are learning… we're getting better."

Pak scored a 6-under on the final round to outshine Texas State's Calvin Ross and Logan Lockwood. The performance followed up an impressive 9-under through the first two rounds. He finished with a tournament score of 15-under par that included a first-place tie in birdies, carding birdies on 17 out of his 54 holes and led the field with a 3.72 scoring average on the Par 4 holes.

This is Pak's sixth career tournament title, sitting in second in program history behind only Nolan Henke's eight career wins from 1983-87.

The All-American was not the only Seminole who impressed Tuesday.

Senior Jamie Li completed a final round of 4-under. The final round was highlighted by his exceptional play on the final back nine where he carded three of his 13 birdies. The strong finish moved him up six spots from 14th to place to a tie for eighth.

The sophomore duo of Calvin Sierota and Alberto Martinez added strong invitational scores. Sierota scored a 3-under through three rounds, and Martinez followed with a 1-under on the final round. Florida State hopes these finishes are indications of progression and continued contribution that will prove to be important throughout the spring season.

"Calvin had a triple bogey on the 11th hole and comes back with an eagle. Alberto was struggling and was two over par through eight holes and finished one under par," Jones said. "We don't have a chance if he didn't do that and compete as hard as he did."

Cole Anderson tied for 40th and rounded out the rest of the lineup with a 1-over par.

Seminoles Tied for Second at Seminole Intercollegiate
Florida State Men's Golf is just three strokes behind leader Washington; Junior John Pak leads the field by five strokes.

February 22, 2000

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Battling the unseasonable cold on Saturday, the Florida State Men's Golf team hung tough at 4-over (288-292) and is tied for second through two rounds at the Seminole Intercollegiate held at Golden Eagle Country Club.

The Seminoles are just three strokes behind first-place Washington (+1), setting up an exciting finish on Sunday.

Junior John Pak had a dominant day, shooting 8-under (70-66) to lead the field by five strokes. Pak's second-round 66 was highlighted by his eagle approach on the 18th hole, where he stuck his approach shot roughly 10 feet away from the hole, then buried his next putt.

Pak's second round included four birdies, an eagle and no bogeys despite the blustery conditions. Redshirt freshman Cole Anderson (72-70) was also impressive with a 2-under showing, currently tied for fourth. Anderson's second round included five birdies, which ended with a strong finish of his own on the par-5 18th hole.

Rounding out the Top 5 are North Florida (+4), James Madison (+6), East Tennessee State (+6) and Liberty (+6). This year's field includes seven teams ranked in the Top 50, and six of them hold the top six spots on the leaderboard.

Pak and Anderson were just two of seven players who shot under par through the first two rounds. Trailing Pak on the leaderboard are Liberty's Jonathan Yaun (-3) and Washington's Petr Hruby (-3).

Freshman Fletcher Wunderlich, playing as an individual, had an exceptional first day. The freshman is tied for 19th (74-73) after shooting 3-over. Senior Jamie Li is also tied for 19th at 3-over (72-75).

Sophomores Alberto Martinez (+11) and Calvin Sierota (+13) finish out the FSU leaderboard.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Junior All-American John Pak earned his second straight individual championship this weekend with an 11-under (70-66-69) performance at the Seminole Intercollegiate held at Golden Eagle Country Club.

Pak is only the second FSU two-time champion of the tournament, joining Nolan Henke who won in 1985 and 1987. This is Pak's seventh tournament title, sitting one shy of Henke's program record eight.

"I don't think about it a whole lot, but it's there in the back of my head," Pak said of trying to match Henke's career wins record. "It would be nice to surpass someone as good as Nolan Henke. It's definitely been a goal."

There are only a handful of golfers around the country that can match the repertoire of the All-American Pak. Pak's quiet start by his standards was gladly interrupted by three birdies over a five-hole stretch and an impressive eagle on 18 that provided him a five-stroke lead after two rounds on Saturday.

He followed with a 3-under on the final day that featured three straight birdies on holes 9-11 to hold sole possession of the individual leaderboard throughout the final round.

"My short game was on point this week," Pak added. "I didn't hit the ball as well as I liked and with that cold weather yesterday, it was hard getting things going. That short game saved me on some holes in the first 18 and it really helped."

The Ben Hogan Award Watch List recipient was not the only Seminole who impressed in front of the home crowd.

Redshirt freshman Cole Anderson had his most complete tournament of his young career. He finished tied for ninth place with a 1-over (72-70-75) for the three-round event. He carded a 2-under through the first two rounds and closed the tournament with a round of 3-over.

This marks Anderson's first top ten finish of his career and his highest finish as a Seminole; his previous best was a tie for 24th at the OFCC/Fighting Illlini Invitational during the fall portion of the season.

Pak and Anderson led the field with 3.83 and 3.90 scoring averages respectively on the course's Par 4 holes. Senior Jamie Li provided another consistent card for the Seminoles. He turned in a tournament score of 7-over and finished tied for 30th.

The classmates of Calvin Sierota and Alberto Martinez rebounded from second round struggles to add strong finishes. Martinez scored a 2-over in the final round, and Sierota followed with a 4-over. The ability to rebound from a tough round is an encouraging sign that will translate into future success as the sophomore duo moves through the spring season.

Freshman Fletcher Wunderlich competed as an individual and turned in a 10-over three-round score.

Florida State held their own against a strong field, despite less than desirable weather conditions through the first two rounds. The year's field included seven teams ranked in the Top 50, and all seven finished in the top seven spots on the leaderboard. The Seminoles (+10) finished tied for fourth, as first place Washington (-9) controlled the team leaderboard throughout most of the tournament. The rest of the top five included East Tennessee State (-2), Liberty (+9), and James Madison (+10).
