Noles Defeat Georgia Southern.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida State women's basketball team (2-0) defeated Georgia Southern (1-1) by a score of 80-72 on Thursday night at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center.

Facing the Eagles for the first time in almost 20 years, having last met in 2005-06, the back-and-forth affair would see the lead change three times with seven total ties, but a strong offensive effort in the fourth quarter would push FSU to victory.

Senior Sydney Bowles and junior guard Sole Williams led the scoring effort with 15 points each, sinking a combined five three-pointers. Sophomore guard Tatum Greene led with eight boards, while graduate forward Allie Kubek recorded 12 points to go with seven rebounds, five coming in the second half. Kubek also added a block.

Junior forward Avery Treadwell tied her career-high in blocks with three on the night, matching the effort against SMU in 2024.

The Seminole offense got off to a slow start, but free throws from Williams and Bowles would break a brief scoring run by the Eagles. A minute later, Bowles hit a three as the offense settled in, but trailed Georgia Southern 26-24 at the conclusion of the first quarter.

FSU battled and five ties defined the back-and-forth of the first six minutes of play, but Kubek made crucial layup to pull ahead. The Seminoles held a 39-36 lead entering halftime.

In the third, Williams led the team with nine points, followed by Greene and Bowles with seven each. Senior guard Jasmine Shavers posted five rebounds - all defensive - to go with one block.

The Eagles answered the Noles out of the break, tying the game back up, 46-46. Two more 3-point shots from Williams and senior guard Amaya Bonner helped wrestle the game back in the hands of the Seminoles, taking the 57-55 edge into the fourth.

The Florida State offense found its footing in the fourth quarter, putting up 23 points to Georgia Southern's 17 points while beating the Eagles in rebounds 11-5. Bowles led the scoring effort with eight points, going a perfect 4-of-4 from the floor while Treadwell followed with six. The Seminoles shut down the final frame 80-72.

Noles Sink 15 Threes, Down Nicholls 89-64.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - A phenomenal performance from beyond the arc would solidify the Florida State women's basketball team's (3-1) defeat of Nicholls State (1-2) by a final score of 89-64 on Wednesday at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center.

The meeting was the first ever between both programs and also served as Florida State's annual Education Day game.

Senior guard Jasmine Shavers put up a team-best and season-high 28 points, going 9-of-17 from the field and 6-of-10 from three, tying her career high. She would also add six rebounds and three assists.

Junior guard Sole Williams scored a career-high 23 points and tied her career best in three-pointer field goals made with five. Her five steals led the team and was a career high.

Junior center Pania Davis notched her first double-double of her Seminole career, totaling 13 points with 10 rebounds. Her three blocks against the Colonels is also a career-high, besting her previous high of two against Florida A&M.

Florida State shot 48 percent from the field (32-of-66) and a strong 44 percent from distance (15-of-34). The 15 triples are tied for the second-most in program history, just behind the school record of 18, set last season against Miami (Jan. 19, 2025).

Florida State got off to a slow start as Nicholls State led 23-13 at the conclusion of the first quarter.

The momentum picked up for Florida State in the second quarter, as Williams and Shavers nailed triples on back-to-back possessions, leading the charge and chipping away at the deficit. FSU closed the quarter on a 13-2 run, tying the game 35-35 going into halftime.

Both teams traded scores at the start of the third quarter, but two more threes from Williams put much-needed distance on the board. Shavers added five points herself across the final three minutes of the frame and back-to-back layups from Williams contributed to a pulverizing 11-0 scoring run by the Seminoles. Florida State led a strong 63-48 going into the final quarter.

The pace of play remained with the Seminoles to close out the contest. FSU sank seven more 3-pointers across the final 10 minutes, with junior guard Emma Risch and Shavers recording three triples each. Freshman guard Mari Gerton would get her name on the board with a wide-open look from the top of the arc, cashing in her lone attempt of the morning.

Alongside the offense, the defense excelled. Florida State outrebounded Nicholls State 41-31 and generated 21 turnovers from the Colonels. Seven blocks and 11 steals denied Nicholls State from replicating their first quarter momentum and demonstrated the jump in intensity seen in the second half of play.

Noles Edged by Hoosiers.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida State women's basketball team fell to Indiana on Sunday night at the Donald L. Civic Center, 76-72.

The back-and-forth affair between the Seminoles (3-2) and Hoosiers (4-0) saw six ties and four lead changes as three Seminoles contributed double figures.

Senior guard Sydney Bowles led the effort with 19 points followed by junior guard Jasmine Shavers with 16 points and junior center Pania Davis with 12 points. Davis and junior forward Avery Treadwell each led with seven rebounds.

As a team, Florida State shot 40 percent from the field and accounted for 40 points scored in the paint. The Seminoles utilized the free-throw line heavily going 20-of-26 from the stripe, led by Bowles, who converted eight, tying a career high.

Florida State edged Indiana in rebounds (36-34), steals (5-3) and blocks (3-1) in a defense-dominant showing.

The first quarter saw a slow start for the Seminole offense, but back-to-back threes from Bowles and junior guard Emma Risch powered a quick comeback in the final minutes. Davis and sophomore guard Tatum Greene would put up a pair of blocks to halt the Hoosiers' initial momentum. Indiana led 17-12 after the first 10 minutes.

Consecutive jumpers from Bowles contributed to a 6-0 scoring run halfway through the second quarter as both teams scrapped. The Seminoles took advantage of the free-throw line, going 5-of-6 from the stripe across the last three minutes. After several ties throughout the quarter, Indiana pulled away with a narrow 32-29 lead going into halftime.

Bowles led with 12 points at the half and Davis and Treadwell made up half of the team's total rebounds with five each.

Another 6-0 run by the Seminoles and a similar drought from the Hoosiers produced another neck-and-neck start to the third quarter. Shavers stripped the lead with a free throw with 3:24 left and would go on to contribute eight points on a game-changing 13-5 run over the final four minutes. A game-best 27-point quarter would propel Florida State to a 56-50 lead going into the fourth.

Indiana would match Florida State's effort from the previous quarter going into the final 10 minutes of play. Florida State visited the free-throw a game-high 12 times throughout the fourth. The Seminoles pulled within two after Emma Risch drove to the basket with 39 seconds left, but Indiana held on, 76-72.

The game served as the Seminoles Military Appreciation game and also featured the retirement of Natasha Howard's No. 33 jersey.

Howard played for Florida State from 2011-2014, earning one of the most decorated careers in program history. She was the first Seminole to break over 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds and was a three-time All-ACC selection as well as a two-time member of the All-ACC Defensive team. Drafted by the Indiana Fever in 2014, she continues to enjoy an impressive WNBA career: she is a two-time member of the All-Defensive Team, a two-time All-Star and was named Defensive Player of the Year in 2019.

Amaya Bonner sank a three with 21-seconds remaining, however Missouri State answered with a layup with six seconds to go. With one last possession of the half, Gerton quickly found Greene for the long-range three at the buzzer to take the 43-34 advantage into the locker room.

Florida State stretched the lead to 10 in the third after back-to-back three pointers from Williams and Greene. Missouri State answered, but FSU held a five-point lead heading into the fourth, 60-55.

The Lady Bears fought back, tying the four times in the fourth. Up one, 74-73, the Seminoles worked the perimeter with Bonner finding Williams for the three-pointer to go ahead 77-73 with 1:43 remaining. Noles Set New Program Record with 19 Threes Made in Coconut Hoops Final vs. No.9/8 Oklahoma.

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Florida State women's basketball (4-5) fell to No. 9/8 Oklahoma (7-1) by a final score of 109-91 in the Great Egret Division final of the GEICO Coconut Hoops tournament on Sunday night at Alico Arena.

A rain of three-point shots, with at least five in three different quarters, saw the Seminoles set a new program record for threes in a single game after going 19-of-41 from distance against the Sooners. This bests the previous program record of 18 set against Miami on Jan. 1, 2025. It also marks the most three-pointers Florida State has made against a top 10 opponent in program history, previously putting up 12 against No. 1/1 UConn on Nov. 9.

Five different Seminoles scored in double figures as senior guard Jasmine Shavers managed her second 20-point game of the season, leading the team with 24 points. Senior guard Sydney Bowles followed with 18 after going 6-of-9 from distance, while junior guard Emma Risch scored a season-high 16 points with four threes made. Bowles tied her career high with six threes made.

Graduate forward Allie Kubek, junior center Pania Davis, and junior guard Sole Williams tied for a team-leading six rebounds.

Williams was named to the All-Tournament Team following the game. Williams contributed 15 points against OU, going 4-of-11 from the floor with two threes and 5-of-6 from the stripe. Williams also pulled down six rebounds while earning five assists. Against Missouri State, she led the team with 21 points, going 9-of-10 from the free-throw line and adding four rebounds.

Every field goal for the Seminoles in the first quarter came from beyond the arc as Kubek, Williams, Shavers, Bowles and freshman guard Mari Gerton combined to sink 6-of-12 from three. Kubek and Williams would add an additional three points from the stripe. A late surge from the Sooners saw the quarter-long lead stripped from the Seminoles in the final 35 seconds of play, as they trailed 22-21 going into the second.

Shavers drove the paint to add the first two-point field goal for Florida State as both teams traded scores. Two consecutive triples from Risch and another from Bowles helped the Seminoles regain the lead and break free on an 11-2 run, forcing the Sooners into a timeout with 5:15 left. An untimely scoring drought gave OU the opportunity to catch up and edge ahead, but four more points in the final minute by Risch kept the game within a point. Florida State trailed 43-42 at the half.

Florida State shot a strong 40.9 percent from distance in the first half as Risch led the charge with 10 points. Bowles and Williams followed closely with nine points each. Kubek and Davis pulled down four boards each, and four different Seminoles recorded a steal through the first half.

Five more threes would fall for the Seminoles in the third, but OU stayed ahead. Shavers contributed 10 points in the quarter alone, going 4-of-6 from the field with two triples. Oklahoma led 74-65 heading into the final 10 minutes.

The Seminoles managed their best scoring in the fourth quarter, but as did the Sooners. Five more threes fell while Florida State drew key fouls for trips to the stripe, scoring 11 points.

Risch Leads Noles with 18 Points Against Charleston.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida State women's basketball team (4-8) fell to the College of Charleston (7-2) by a final score of 75-70 on Sunday evening at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center.

Four Seminoles scored in double figures, with junior guard Emma Risch in the lead with a season-best 18 points. Treadwell managed a season-high 13 points, while senior guard Jasmine Shavers recorded 12 and junior guard Sole Williams added 10.

Treadwell impressed down low, spearheading the rebounding effort with a career-high nine boards while also adding a block. Risch maintained a steady presence from beyond the arc, sinking a season-high five three-pointers. She also set a new career high in rebounds with seven against the Cougars after setting a new best just a game ago against Notre Dame with six.

Senior guard Amaya Bonner recorded a season-best nine points, going 4-of-8 from the field and managed a season-best four assists. She also provided defensive pressure with two blocks and one steal to go with two rebounds.

Junior center Pania Davis tied her career high in blocks with three, her third time doing so this season. She would also contribute seven points, four rebounds and one steal.

Florida State struck first thanks to a quick mid-range jumper from Shavers followed by a triple from Risch, creating an early lead in the first quarter. Treadwell established herself under the basket, converting her two offensive rebounds down low and adding a free throw for five points. Five different Seminoles put points on the board, but the Cougars followed closely, with a late basket to tie the contest at 15-15 heading into the second quarter.

The Seminoles reclaimed the lead early and Pania Davis and Bonner combined for five points each in the frame, but Charleston managed a 29-28 edge at halftime.

Davis was strong on both offensive and defensive fronts, contributing seven points as well as four rebounds, two blocks and a steal in the first half. Shavers led the rebounding effort with six boards while Kubek and Risch trailed close with five each.

Despite a slow start in the start of the third quarter, Williams added five quick points and Risch sank her second triple of the game just 34 seconds later, contributing to an 8-0 run and forcing Charleston into a timeout. Another 8-0 stretch capped by another three from Williams saw out the final three minutes of the quarter, resulting in a 47-47 tie going into the final 10 minutes of play.

Treadwell broke into double figures a minute into the fourth quarter with an early tip-in to tie. Though the Cougars fought back, the Seminoles excelled from distance as Risch hit three three-pointers while Shavers added one to battle back the lead. The final minutes however saw Charleston dominate the stripe, resulting in the narrow 75-70 final score.

Shavers, Davis Net Double-Doubles as FSU Downs SC State, 89-41.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida State women's basketball team (5-9, 0-2 ACC) defeated South Carolina State (3-11) by a final score of 89-41 on Saturday afternoon at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center.

Every Seminole put points on the board and grabbed one rebound for the third time this season in the victory. Three players scored in double figures, including graduate guard Jasmine Shavers and junior center Pania Davis who contributed a double-double each. The last time two Seminoles managed a double-double in the same game was last season against Clemson on Jan. 16, 2025.

The team shot a strong 41.7 percent from the floor and 82.1 percent from the free-throw line, sinking 23-of-28 attempts. FSU's 61 rebounds bested the previous season high of 58 set in the season opener against Florida A&M, while 16 steals topped the previous season-high of 13 set in the same game. The Seminoles' 18 assists tied the season-best set against Nicholls State on Nov. 12.

Shavers put together her best game in the Garnet and Gold and surpassed 1,500 career points with a team-leading and season-best 29 points against the Bulldogs, going a perfect 11-of-11 at the free-throw line, tying a school record. She was also 4-of-6 from three and tallied a career-high 12 rebounds to manage her first double-double in a Seminole uniform and third of her collegiate career. Shavers would account for three steals and one assist in the standout performance.

Davis excelled on both offensive and defensive fronts, earning her second double-double of the season with 14 points and a career-best 16 rebounds. She proved to be a force in nearly every facet of the game, leading the team with four assists and four steals to set new career highs.

Junior forward Avery Treadwell set a new career best with 11 rebounds, managing nine in the first half alone. She would end the game with six points and one block.

Shavers provided early momentum in the first quarter, securing a steal and scored within the first minute of play to put the Seminoles on the board first. She would total 10 points at the conclusion of the first 10 minutes, sinking two triples and going 2-of-2 at the free-throw line. Treadwell dominated underneath the basket for seven rebounds while seven different Seminoles recorded at least one board. Florida State led 19-10 at the conclusion of the frame.

The offense kept rolling going into the second quarter as several more Seminoles came alive. Davis made herself a constant presence on both ends of the court, picking up two assists and forcing three steals while securing five points for herself. Shavers kept up the pressure with a perfect performance from the floor, going 2-of-2 from three once again and 3-of-3 from the stripe. A block by Tatum Greene closed out the strong first half as Florida State carried a 44-19 lead into the locker room.

Shavers led the first half scoring as the only Seminole in double figures with 19 points, going 5-of-7 from the floor and shooting perfect from the perimeter and the free-throw line. Treadwell led the rebounding effort, tying her career-high with nine boards in the first half alone.

Momentum stayed with the Seminoles out of the break. Allie Kubek opened the scoring with an early three and Amaya Bonner got into the scoring with a layup. Florida State was a constant presence at the free-throw line, sinking 10-of-12 attempts and going a perfect 8-of-8 in the final two minutes. Davis continued her tear beneath the basket with seven rebounds in the third quarter alone to go with a block. The Seminoles held a 69-30 edge entering the final quarter.

Shavers led the fourth quarter effort, tallying six points and remaining flawless with foul shots, going 4-of-4 from the stripe. Treadwell, Mari Gerton and Sole Williams contributed four points each and three different Noles recorded a block. A layup from Gerton with a minute remaining would close out the scoring for either side, securing the 89-41 victory.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida State women's basketball team (5-11, 0-4 ACC) fell to Virginia (12-3, 4-0 ACC) by a final score of 91-87 in double overtime on Sunday at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center.

Florida State shot a strong 40.7 percent from the floor, putting up a season-best 81 field goal attempts. The Seminoles pulled down 50 rebounds while registering eight blocks and eight steals.

Junior guard Sole Williams was a catalyst for the second half offense, managing a career best 28-point performance on a career-high 11 made field goals, including four three-pointers. She also contributed five rebounds and one assist.

Senior guard Amaya Bonner continued to elevate her game throughout the season. She set a new season-high in points with 15 against the Cavaliers, just one point shy of her career best. Her six rebounds, three steals and three blocks tied career highs while her five assists set a new season best. Her assists and steals led the team and her blocks tied with graduate forward Allie Kubek for a team lead.

Graduate guard Jasmine Shavers was the third Seminole in double figures with 18 points, contributing three triples and seven rebounds. She would also add two assists and two steals.

Sophomore guard Tatum Greene provided early effort and remained a consistent facilitator throughout the game. She led the team with 10 boards against Virginia, tying a career high she set in the season opener against Florida A&M. Greene managed eight points as well as a block.

The Cavaliers opened with strong shooting while the Seminoles struggled to establish momentum early. Greene led the scoring with five points, while Pania Davis recorded two offensive rebounds as well as a block and a steal. Virginia led 31-15 at the end of the first quarter.

Florida State started the second quarter strong, generating a 9-0 scoring run while forcing three turnovers from Virginia over a three-minute span, but the Cavaliers answered. Late under-the-basket work from Bonner and Sydney Bowles in the final two minutes helped the Seminoles cut into the deficit as they trailed 45-32 at the half.

Florida State worked eight turnovers from Virginia while only ceding one in the second quarter. Bonner led all Seminole scorers with eight points as well as three assists and two steals at the halfway mark. Davis and Bowles pulled down three boards each.

Bonner surpassed her previous season best in points just minutes into the second half with a corner triple, helping Florida State to an early 7-0 run that forced Virginia into a timeout. Williams pressured with two three-pointers and a baseline layup to break into double figures herself as the Seminole defense held the opposition scoreless through the last 2:22 of the quarter. FSU outscored UVA 22-14 in the third quarter, trailing a close 59-54 heading into the fourth.

The home side scored first with a layup from Williams, but Virginia inched ahead by nine, 65-56 with 4:13 remaining. Shavers broke the ice scoring a quick seven points, converting a steal and then a triple on back-to-back possessions. On the next drive, Shavers drew a foul and converted a pair of free throws to cut it to two, 65-63. Two crucial layups by Williams in the final 16 seconds would tie the contest at 67-67, sending the Seminoles to their first overtime game of the season.

Both sides traded scores throughout the first period of extra time. Williams led with six points while Shavers and Bonner would contribute a combined three points.

The second overtime period, the Seminoles refused to quit as Virginia managed to pull away early and maintain a lead with timely free throw shooting. Shavers led the effort with five points while Williams added four, but the Seminoles would ultimately come up short 91-87.

It was the first overtime game since defeating Clemson, 82-79 on March 3, 2024, and first double overtime game since falling to Notre Dame 98-94, on Feb. 11, 2024.

Williams Leads Noles with 19 Points at Miami.

CORAL GABLES, Fla. - The Florida State women's basketball team (5-12, 0-5 ACC) fell to Miami (11-6, 3-3 ACC) by a final score of 89-73 on Sunday at the Watsco Center.

Junior guard Sole Williams finished with a team-leading 19 points to go with four rebounds and three assists. Senior guard Amaya Bonner trailed with 13 points while recording a block and a steal. Sophomore guard Tatum Greene was the last Seminole in double figures with 10 points while also tying her career best in steals with four. Greene and graduate guard Jasmine Shavers tied for a team best eight rebounds.

Florida State jumped to an early lead thanks to two triples from Risch in the first five minutes of play with help from Bonner and Kubek driving the paint. Miami put up a response late, but the Seminoles wouldn't relent the lead and pushed ahead 19-18 at the end of the first quarter.

The Hurricanes edged ahead early in the second quarter, but pressure in the paint from the Seminoles forced two more lead changes. After four ties throughout the frame, Miami would eventually pull away in the final three minutes of the half. A layup and free throw by Williams made it a one possession game as Florida State trailed 37-35 at halftime.

Williams led the first half effort with nine points and two assists while Bonner and Risch followed with six points each. Kubek earned five rebounds while also leading the team with two blocks.

The game saw 12 lead changes in the first eight minutes of the third quarter. Two three-pointers from Greene as well as one from Shavers challenged the Hurricanes early, yet Miami converted on crucial turnovers in the final minutes. Florida State trailed 66-56 entering the last quarter.

Florida State continued to push the paint, but the effort would fall short. Both teams would go scoreless in the final three minutes of play as the game finished 89-73 in favor of the Hurricanes.

Shavers Leads All Scorers with 15 Points Against North Carolina on Sunday.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida State women's basketball team (6-13, 1-6 ACC) fell to RV/No. 23 North Carolina (15-5, 4-3 ACC) by a final score of 82-55 on Sunday at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center.

Graduate guard Jasmine Shavers led with 15 points, leading all scorers, going 3-of-7 from beyond the arc and a perfect 4-of-4 at the free-throw line. Shavers would also tally two assists alongside senior guard Amaya Bonner and junior guard Sole Williams. Junior guard Emma Risch would follow with 10 points, adding two three-pointers and converting her two attempts at the stripe.

Sophomore guard Tatum Greene provided strong defensive effort, pulling down a team-high five rebounds to go with two steals and one block. Avery Treadwell also swatted two blocks.

Bonner opened the home side scoring with a layup for the second straight game. North Carolina worked ahead early, but a string of four steals by the Seminole defense stalled the Tar Heels' momentum. Free throws from Bonner and a mid-range jumper from Davis helped cut down the point deficit as the defense forced seven turnovers, but UNC would maintain their lead at the conclusion of the first quarter, 17-8.

A cold start to the second quarter was disrupted as Shavers got herself on the board with a triple and subsequent jumper. Risch and Sydney Bowles would follow up with threes of their own just 50 seconds apart, bringing the distance on the scoreboard down to single digits. A late run by North Carolina in the remaining four minutes pulled the Tar Heels ahead, 38-19.

Bowles and Shavers tied for a team-leading five points. Greene led the effort on the glass with three rebounds while four different Seminoles recorded a pair each. Williams and Greene each recorded two steals, accounting for four of the team's five total first half takeaways.

Layups within the first minute from Allie Kubek and Williams opened the second half scoring for the Seminoles. Though UNC would answer back, consecutive three-pointers from Williams and Shavers in the seventh minute cut further into the deficit. Risch added her second make from deep and a lone free throw from Treadwell would close out third quarter scoring for FSU, trailing 61-35 entering the final quarter.

Shavers fired from the top of the perimeter to kick off fourth quarter scoring, followed up by a contested layup from Bonner. A corner three by freshman guard Mari Gerton, a jumper from Risch and a pair of free throws from Treadwell would round out the final two minutes of the game as the game ended 82-55 in favor of the Tar Heels.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida State women's basketball team (9-16, 4-9 ACC) defeated Boston College (4-23, 0-14 ACC) on Thursday night, 85-76.

The Seminoles had four players contribute double figures, led by Sole Williams, who scored 23 points after shooting 10-of-13 from the floor. It was her sixth 20-point game of the season.

Jasmine Shavers managed her second double-double of the season, scoring 18 points and leading the team with 10 rebounds. Shavers converted three three-pointers for the second time this week, stretching her season total to 47.

Amaya Bonner also contributed 18 points, finishing 5-of-8 from the floor. She delivered six rebounds, tying her career high, and dished five assists. Pania Davis was the fourth Seminole in double digits, scoring 11 points.

FSU registered nine blocks on the night, the most in an ACC game this season, led by Tatum Greene, who tied her career high with four. Greene added seven points and seven rebounds.

The Seminoles jumped in front early, thanks to three three-pointers from Bonner, Shavers, and Sydney Bowles. Greene came up big defensively, swatting two blocks in the frame. FSU ended the first with the 23-15 lead.

Florida State caught fire in the second, starting the quarter on a 13-0 run, forcing Boston College to call timeout with 7:05 left, up 36-17. Bonner stretched it to 16-0 after a three-point play, but Boston College answered with a 10-0 stretch. Greene knocked down a three, but the Eagles found momentum cutting into the FSU lead to end the half, 48-38.

Bonner and Williams each contributed 11 points in the first half, led by Bonner, who was 4-of-4, including 2-of-2 from behind the arc. She also dished five assists.

After back-and-forth play to start the third, the Seminoles picked up the pace, converting six of the last eight shots of the quarter, taking a 70-56 advantage into the fourth.

Boston College continued to push, but the Seminoles kept the lead and closed out the game leading from start to finish.

Kubek Secures Double-Double at No. 9/9 Louisville on Sunday.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Florida State women's basketball team (9-17, 4-10 ACC) fell to No. 9/9 Louisville (24-4, 14-1 ACC) by a final score of 88-65 at the KFC Yum! Center on Sunday night.

Graduate guard Allie Kubek earned her first double-double of the season, posting season-highs of 18 points and 10 rebounds. She shot 7-of-10 from the floor, including two three-pointers, and recorded a pair of blocks. The double-double is her 13th of her collegiate career.

Junior guard Sole Williams would lead the Seminoles in scoring for the second game in a row, putting up 19 points as well as pulling down five rebounds and earning a team-leading four assists. She finished the game 6-of-11 from the floor and was 4-of-4 from the free throw line.

Williams would put up the first five points on the board with a three-pointer and subsequent fast break layup just 24 seconds apart. Senior guard Sydney Bowles would add a midrange jumper with two minutes to go, and Kubek would push the Seminoles into double digits with a layup just seconds later. Florida State trailed 19-10 after the first quarter.

Kubek opened the second quarter strong with back-to-back layups. A structured zone defense by the Seminoles forced the Cardinals into perimeter shooting, keeping the contest close while causing four giveaways from the Louisville offense throughout the frame. A three would fall for Tatum Greene to put her on the board at 4:29 while Bowles would chip in another two minutes later. Louisville added last minute points to lead 34-20 going into the locker room.

Bowles and Kubek led the scoring with six points, with Kubek also earning four rebounds as well as the team's lone block of the half.

Kubek spearheaded the offensive effort out of the break with a layup in the first minutes followed by a three-pointer just 30 seconds later. After a hefty scoring run by the Cardinals, Treadwell put up a second-chance tip-in to end the drought, and Shavers would become the fourth Seminole to drop a three a possession later.

Freshman guard Mari Gerton drove the paint to secure her first points at 4:07. She would add a sideline three with under two minutes to go, rounding out the third quarter scoring as Louisville maintained the lead, 61-39. She finished the game with five points and tied her career high in steals with three.

Second-chance baskets from Greene and junior center Pania Davis as well as consecutive three-pointers from Williams would see 10 points for the Seminoles in the first three minutes of the final frame. Williams successfully converted two visits to the free-throw line in the same minute, while Kubek would sink a pair of the free throws of her own not even a minute afterward.

Triples fell for Shavers and Kubek in the final two minutes, pushing Kubek to a new season high in points. Her 10th rebound would come as the clock ran out, and Florida State fell to Louisville 88-65. Florida State hit 10 three-pointers for the seventh time this season.

Williams Leads Noles with 17 Points in Home Game Finale.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida State women's basketball team (9-19, 4-12 ACC) fell to Stanford (17-11, 6-9 ACC) by a final score of 77-61 on Sunday in the final home game at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center.

Junior guard Sole Williams led all scorers with 17 points, going 7-of-16 from the field including two three-pointers. Graduate guard Jasmine Shavers followed with 14 points with a pair of threes herself, while senior guard Sydney Bowles rounded out the double digit scoring with 10 points, including an impressive 8-of-9 mark from the free-throw line, tying her career best for free throws made.

Florida State was excellent from the free-throw line, shooting 89 percent on a 17-of-19 mark as a team.

The Seminoles forced 17 turnovers from the Cardinal, including 10 steals. Seven different players recorded at least one steal, with Shavers earning three while junior guard Emma Risch taking two.

Following the senior day celebrations, it was only fitting that senior guard Amaya Bonner opened scoring for the home side with a layup followed by a three-pointer from Shavers. The duo would account for 10 of the 14 total first quarter points. A hard-fought basket in the paint from junior center Pania Davis plus a pair of the free throws from Bowles wrapped up scoring in the first frame, FSU trailing Stanford 23-14.

Two more free throws fell for Bowles to begin the second quarter, followed by Williams getting herself on the board with a layup. The defense got to work to force six turnovers from the Cardinal in the frame alone. Stanford managed to reestablish themselves in the final few minutes, and a layup from Shavers and second-chance tip-in from junior forward Avery Treadwell would close out the first half offense. Florida State went to the locker room with a 41-22 deficit.

Bonner led the first half scoring with seven points, followed by Shavers with five. Bowles posted a perfect 4-of-4 mark from the free-throw line. Florida State recorded four steals as a team, Shavers with a pair while graduate guard Allie Kubek and Risch recorded one each.

A stronger defensive effort from the Seminoles stunned the Cardinal out of halftime after an opening free throw and three. Stanford went without a bucket for over three minutes. Florida State took advantage of the downtime, going on an 8-0 run halfway through powered by Tatum Greene and Williams that lasted over two minutes. Williams and Davis provided crucial points in the paint while Shavers added her second triple of the contest at the 3-minute mark.

While Stanford struggled to find the hoop, another scoring run would come for the Seminoles in the final two minutes. Bowles added her fifth make from the foul stripe while Williams continued to cut into the deficit, posting a layup and a three just 20 seconds apart to break into double digits. Energy was high as the Seminoles worked the Stanford lead down to just 11 points, trailing 54-43 at the end of the third quarter.

Bowles continued to pressure in the fourth, sinking a mid-range jumper and adding three more makes from the free-throw line after drawing a shooting foul on the perimeter. Defense continued to push, earning four more steals and causing six more turnovers from the Cardinal. Greene, Davis and Shavers all converted on visits to the stripe in the final frame, helping bring Stanford's lead into just single digits with just under five minutes to go. However, Stanford would respond to keep their lead alive as FSU fell 77-61.

Shavers Paces Noles with 21 Points vs. Duke on Thursday.

DURHAM, N.C. - The Florida State women's basketball team (9-20, 4-14 ACC) fell to No. 12/14 Duke (21-7, 16-1 ACC) by a final score of 80-52 on Thursday night at Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham, North Carolina.

Graduate guard Jasmine Shavers led all Seminoles with 21 points on 9-of-20 shooting from the floor. It is her sixth game of the season scoring 20 points or more. She would also add a pair of rebounds and assists as well as a single block.

Junior guard Sola Williams contributed 12 points, posting a perfect 4-of-4 mark at the free-throw line. Williams picked up four rebounds as well as a steal.

Sophomore guard Tatum Greene led the team on the boards, securing eight, all defensive, while also registering a block and a steal. Junior center Pania Davis contributed a team high three steals and one block, while graduate forward Allie Kubek managed two rejections and two steals.

Despite the Blue Devils taking an early lead in the opening minutes, Shavers battled it back with a mid-range jumper and threes on back-to-back possessions. She would break into double digits early in the contest, posting 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting in the quarter alone. Williams, Greene and Kubek would chip in layups to maintain control.

As the offense stayed steady, the Seminole defense applied pressure. Greene and Shavers would each record blocks and Davis registered two steals as the Noles worked three turnovers from the Blue Devils across the opening quarter. While Duke briefly stripped the lead back at 1:16 remaining, an efficient second-chance layup by junior forward Avery Treadwell would win it back and Shavers would add insurance with a mid-range jumper to cap the first frame with a 20-17 lead.

In the second, a timely steal by Davis allowed Williams to get out in transition for a layup at 4:30, but back-to-back triples by Duke put the Blue Devils in front.

A corner three fell for Bowles to get her into the scoring column, yet Duke responded with one of their own. A second-chance basket down low for Kubek and a quarter-closing layup from Shavers saw Florida State stay hot on Duke's trail, 33-29.

Shavers remained the only Seminole in double digits at halftime with 14 points and contributed a pair of rebounds as well as a block and an assist. Kubek led on the glass with three boards, including two offensive rebounds, while Davis maintained pressure on the Duke offense with three steals. Florida State managed eight turnovers from the Blue Devils, converting them into 10 points across the half.

Duke came out of the locker room strong to begin the second half, quickly going on scoring runs with hefty perimeter shooting. A layup came for Greene after a brief timeout at 8:07, and senior guard Sydney Bowles would add a mid-range jumper in the following minutes.

The offense picked up in the final minutes to go on a 7-0 run as the Duke offense went cold. A steal by Treadwell led to another Williams layup, and she'd sink Florida State's first pair of free throws with under three minutes to play in the third. Shavers attacked the paint to earn the and-one with under two to go, closing the visiting side scoring as Florida State entered the fourth quarter trailing 55-40.

Williams continued to pressure early in the final quarter, dropping two more free throws and taking a defensive rebound coast-to-coast on a fast break in the opening minute alone. However, the Duke offense continued to answer and extend the lead. Shavers would pick up four more points across the frame and Kubek would lay in the final basket for the Garnet and Gold with under a minute remaining as the Seminoles fell 80-52.

Noles Outlast Demon Deacons in Overtime, 77-74.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Florida State women's basketball team closed out the regular season on a high note with a 77-74 overtime victory over Wake Forest on Sunday afternoon at LJVM Coliseum in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

The Seminoles (10-20, 5-13 ACC) improve to 35-20 all-time over the Demon Deacons (14-16, 4-14 ACC). Florida State's last win in overtime was against Clemson, 82-79, on March 3, 2024 and the last overtime victory on the road was at Houston, 79-73, on Nov. 19, 2022.

Florida State out rebounded Wake Forest 49-39, as the Seminoles corralled 16 offensive rebounds and scored 20 second-chance points. Every Seminole contributed to the victory, as each player recorded at least two points, and a rebound with the Garnet and Gold bench contributing 28 points.

Four Seminoles landed in double figures, with senior guard Sydney Bowles leading the effort with 17 points on 6-of-14 shooting. She would also earn three assists and six rebounds, as well as one steal. Junior guard Emma Risch followed with 13 points, sinking two threes. Risch posted a career-high in steals with three against the Demon Deacons and tied her high in rebounds with seven.

Graduate forward Allie Kubek and graduate guard Jasmine Shavers each registered 11 points to round out the quad. Kubek went 5-of-10 from the floor while also leading the team in rebounds with eight, and picked up a block and a steal. Shavers added two threes and posted a strong 5-of-6 mark at the stripe, while reaching a career high with a team-leading six assists.

Freshman guard Mari Gerton contributed 15 strong minutes, adding a career-high three assists, four rebounds and a steal.

Wake Forest jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter, but Florida State never let them get too far ahead. Bowles converted a turnover for the first pair of points about a minute in, followed by a three by Shavers on the next possession. Senior guard Amaya Bonner and Kubek contributed second-chance baskets in the paint, while Risch showed off the shooting with back-to-back jumpers in the same minute with under three to go.

While the offense got to work, as did the defense: three different Seminoles recorded a block, and Florida State nearly doubled Wake Forest's first quarter rebounds with a 13-7 edge on the glass. A well-fought layup under the basket by junior forward Avery Treadwell would cap the first frame, FSU trailing 21-19.

A pair of free throws by Bowles in the first minute of the second quarter would tie it for the first time all game, and freshman guard Mari Gerton would strip the lead in favor of the Seminoles with a second-chance basket in the paint. Junior center Pania Davis padded the lead with a spin-move finish in the paint just 30 seconds later. A deep three by Bowles would contribute to a 9-0 scoring run for Florida State, forcing Wake Forest into a timeout at 7:12.

Wake Forest would answer, and force another lead change at 2:25 with a run of their own. A three by Risch with under a minute to go would round out the scoring for either side as Florida State once again trailed by a possession, 39-37.

Florida State shot a strong 44.1 percent as a team, going 15-of-34 from the floor through the first half. Bowles led the scoring at the halfway mark with nine points, followed by Risch with seven. Shavers led the rebounding effort with five boards while Kubek, Gerton and Risch pulled down four each.

Davis opened the third quarter with a defensive rebound and subsequent layup to tie the contest, and Greene would wrestle the lead back for the Seminoles with two made free throws at 8:24. Bowles broke into double digit scoring with a second-chance layup and added a three hardly two minutes later.

While the Demon Deacons would strip the lead back with 2:47 to go, a clutch jumper by sophomore guard Tatum Greene and another quarter-closing three-pointer by Risch with five seconds to go would give the Seminoles the edge heading into the fourth, 54-53.

Kubek was the star of the beginning of the final frame, putting up six points in under two minutes to break into double digits herself while fiercely defending the lead. With several more ties throughout the quarter, it came down to second-chance points as the deciding factor. A turnaround jumper by Risch brought the Demon Deacons' lead to one point at 2:26, and it would be a clutch put-back by Bowles in the paint to strip the lead with 15 seconds remaining, going ahead 66-65.

A single free throw from Risch would make it a two-possession game, but a timely layup by Wake Forest with five seconds to spare would send the game to overtime, tied 67-67 at the end of the fourth.

A barrage of threes would open the overtime period, but Shavers would be the first to get one to fall. Wake Forest sank a triple in response, but a layup by Greene would firmly turn the lead back over to the Seminoles. Free throws by Bowles, Shavers, Bonner and Greene maintained key distance on the scoreboard as the Seminoles bested the Demon Deacons 77-74.
